Hello, I just started my own guild and I noticed that this guild I joined has quite a bit of members so I am wondering. What motivated everyone to join this guild? I am hoping to get some incite so that I can recruit better.

What kind of guild is it? I know way back when, I started a Christian discussion guild (I'm no longer a part of it). It was the second largest Christian guild on Gaia. For us, it was all about the activity and the atmosphere, I think. People felt welcome there, and there was always something new going on. Communication amongst your crew is also very important. You can't run a guild all by yourself, especially once it starts getting really busy and active, and you can't have an effective crew if no one communicates with each other regularly.
I joined this one because there were a lot of people in it, and a lot of different topics, and it just seemed like a pretty chill place to come hang out online. The activity seems to have dwindled, but maybe I'm hanging out in all the wrong subforums. 8D;

It is a role-play guild. I find it hard to explain. It's about Mother Earth granting powers to turn into elemental wolves to 9 humans. There is a school where they study with Mother Earth's previous creatures. Mother Earth is basically a planet that came from another galexy but her sun blew up so there was no gravity to hold the planet in place so she would up in our galaxy. There were no humans until asteroids hit the planet and humans were on them along with dinosaurs. It is the story about how over time she became so pouted that she rebelled against the humans. I don't think I explained it right. Elemental Wolves

I see. I would start by encouraging your friends to join. Get a few really good threads going, and do some advertising in the guilds forum. Invite people individually if it seems like they'd be a good fit in your guild (or just invite them if they seem friendly or whatever). That should help. smile

I joined this guild because of the already-large number of users and the friendly atmosphere. A better question for you might be about how any other captains started their own guilds. My answer to such a question as that might be one in which you find more benefit.
