She was quoted in the thread where I was telling everyone to start stepping up.
She kept coming up with an excuse as to why she couldn't be active even though I caught her on Meebo numerous times and she would be online anywhere from 30min to an hour, in that time she could have at least posted in the guild once. She just ignored it.

She told us that since she wasn't a VC that she didn't have to look for members.
When it is everyones job no matter what your title is to look for people and post because it is everyone's job to keep the guild up and active.
She also tried to make an excuse that this is suppose to be a small guild and she showed no interest in helping it grow by branching out to more people of different walks of life.

Her and the captain also had a beef, he would try to talk to her about it and she would ignore him.

We can not have dead weight in the crew it makes us look bad and it doesn't set a good example to other members. We cant tell other members to be active when we have a crew member thats online but never posts.
It looks BAD. We told her this and she blew it off.

I don't like demoting people but I also don't like the crew looking bad because of laziness and lack of interest. It's not fair to everyone else who follows the rules. The captain agrees.

The captain can shed some more light on this, I don't feel right about spilling all the details about their beef with each other... ITts not my business and gossiping is never ok. But I'll quote him and ask him to talk about it.

I most definitely did not want to create a gossipy smack-talking thread. I'm just the one she PM'd asking why she'd been demoted (I'm assuming because she saw me as the crew member who was the least likely to have anything against her personally), so I was just following through on what I'd told her I'd do, which was to ask why she'd been demoted on her behalf.

I don't disagree with any of the reasons for her demotion, but in the future, if a member is either promoted or demoted, it might be nice if a) the rest of the crew could be informed about it and b) if whoever made the call to promote or demote someone, that person could PM the member in question and explain the reason for the promotion/demotion.

If all the crew are kept in the loop, we'll better be able to work together cohesively in managing the guild. smile
