⋆ HISTORY: roveric's mother was a sickly woman, often prone to miscarriage, so roveric was her little blessing. a sibling was born some years later, but for most of rick's adolescence it was him and mother, together against the world. a tight bond developed between the two of them, and the young naga found he could confide in his mother no matter what, despite his lack of typical naga aggression and peaceful disposition. she was perfectly fine if her darling boy would rather run than fight - she'd be lost without him, and he without her.
roveric believed that he was the only person his mother needed, but that illusion was broken with the surprise arrival of a step-father. the bold man quickly filled up both of their lives, pushing roveric in ways that he'd never been before and driving a rift between mother and son. the headstrong lad refused to be pushed around by this near-stranger, even if it was "for his own good", and ended up leaving home in a rushed huff. he found a small room in the naga city and didn't look back.
eventually he found a part-time job managing a store, and so the days turned repetitive and endless. roveric is half-hoping for a miraculous occasion to come parading down the street to change up his days, but he always abandons the dream halfway through. honestly, he knows he's the last person that something unique would happen to, and he's not the sort to go looking for it. dreaming is safer, and always more satisfactory.
