Gator
My name is: Arell Thomas L'amour
My Alias is Gator
I have this many candles on the cake 30
I am on the side of: Neutral
I have these quirks: Off the job, Arell's a relaxed (borderline lazy), funny fellow with some interesting stories to tell. He love fishing, barbecue and running moonshine. He doesn't wear shoes and is a proud Cajun (he also claims to have been born on Mardi Gras). He also really loves Rockabilly, and can be seen practicing on a surf green Fender Mustang he customized with TV Jones pickups scalloped frets and a burn on the headstock from where he would put his still-lit Cigarette when it was his turn to sing (his favorite guitarist is Travis "Scratchy" Wammack). He's a good fighter, but doesn't show it unless he's actually ready to fight.
We cant all have sad stories now can we?
((this is a long one. I've been using this character and building his mythos for coming on three-four years now))
Arell was born and raised in a houseboat on Bayou St. John, but his birth certificate says he was born in the closest town, which was Breaux Bridge, Louisiana. His family's a little unusual. His ancestor was the great pirate captain Boudreaux Jackson (who he shares more than a striking resemblance to) and Astrid Frostwind, a half-troll, half-fairy who he wed in a journey to a faraway land. Another ancestor, Tom "Wild Dog" Boudreaux served in the American Civil War, fighting at first for the Confederacy alongside the "fighting tigers", a group of criminals who were released from jails in Louisiana to fight for their home against the onslaught of invading Yankee troops. Wild Dog met and befriended Jonah Hex out in the fights, but when Wild Dog and Jonah fought against their superiors about the question of slavery, Wild Dog DECKED the superior, who was none other than Hex's later foe, Quentin Turnbull. While Hex managed to escape with his life, Wild Dog was executed, but he went down knowing he stood up for the right thing.
However, his biological father, bush Pilot Blue Thomas was shot down over Argentina and wasn't seen again. Worried, his mother gave him to his uncle to be raised. J.T. "Pappy" L'amour, a Marine Corps veteran who taught Arell a great majority on shooting a gun, and life as it was. His "mother" (really his aunt) Gina was a flower child that . . . never really got out of the '60s and showed Arell compassion and love. When he learned the truth about his parents though, Arell was indeed upset, but was happy that his family had taken him in as well as they did.
When he was eighteen though, unfortunately disaster struck again. Gina was struck with Cancer! While J.T. was still being paid compensation by the US Military for what he did in 'Nam, it wasn't near enough to help treat Gina, and when they turned to the Bank for help, they were turned away. Distraught, Arell left home, and was taken in by a motorcycle gang led by an old family friend, who followed a "Robin Hood" ideal of robbing the banks that were extremely corrupt and give to those who truly deserved it. It was with the help of that gang, that Arell managed to help pay for the treatments for his adopted mom, as well as destroy the empire of Mafioso Don Giovanni Razolli.
It was rumored at one time that his strange nickname "Gator" was from a story someone told of him turning into a large and vicious were-gator in the middle of a fight, however Arell himself will tell you he doesn't. He and his adopted father were trappers and fishermen in Louisiana. The nickname was given to him from J.T. when Arell had rescued a baby alligator from poachers one day while fishing. He still has the pet to this day, now a 20-foot, full grown alligator called "Big Head" . . . who he sees as his best friend in the whole world.
He arrived in Gotham City with Big Head after having to catch a ride on a freight train leaving Louisiana due to some trouble back home. A bar-fight turned nasty when it was revealed that one of the poachers that killed Big Head's mother was one of the people hired by Don Razolli to attack and kill the Cajun for meddling in his plans of destroying miles upon miles of precious wetlands for the sake of a shipping company . . . which was an attempted front of Razolli entering the Marijuana trade, with boats coming in from Mexico slipping in illegally. In the fight, Arell shot and killed the poacher with a .357 Magnum he was given for his twentieth birthday. However, this wasn't the last of his problems.
Arell had crossed the wrong person at the wrong time and he and Big Head (for a while) melded together in a spell that would cause Arell to turn into a big, vicious were-gator for many years. However, when he heard that Razolli made an effort to bring his illegitimate business into Gotham, he went straight on into it. Causing him to be a nightmare to villain (for his tendencies to solve the crime problem with hot lead) and hero (for the same damn reason) alike. It was also during this that he was accidentally sent THROUGH TIME into the 31st Century, where he worked for a short time with the Legion of Superheroes. Somewhere in here they finally got Arell and Big Head taken care of and back to two separate entities, however, their bond remained the same. They fought the good fight for many years before Arell made it back to his time. From there, he left Gotham almost without a sound for Jump City on foot, with Big Head by his side through it all.
Today, Arell lives as a soldier for hire on the streets of Jump City. Big Head still rides with him.
My power lies with-in: Strength that is considered the pinnacle of human capabilities. Arell trains daily to keep himself in fighting fit condition. He also is a terrifyingly good shot . . . he won marksmanship competions . . . and will happily show you the fruits of his practice.
Also, the one-ton, twenty-foot long alligator? Good reason not to mess with him. He makes an angry pit bull seem tame.
What I carry with me:
"Maude": A late '30s, early-'40s Ford pickup truck that he hot rodded with a friend somewhere in his travels. It's rusty looking, the same look as when he got it (he bought it from Jones Snake Farm). The truck still has the decal on it from Jones Snake Farm.
"Dragon": A Remington 12-gauge sawed-off pump gun he got from his time in the biker gang. Since he never officially quit the gang, he got to keep the patches, as well as this shooting iron.
"Truth" and "Justice": Arell's twin .357 Magnums. "Truth" is the oldest, a gift from his father. "Justice" he found off the body of a gangster he shot down. He kept the revolver, naming it "Justice" to remind him that he has a constant battle for both.
Un-named Bowie Knife Arell owns. It's strapped in a sheath on his belt. When taken out, it's about the size of his forearm, and sharp as hell.
"Big Head": Arell's pet Alligator. He rescued it from poachers in Louisiana, hatched it in an incubator and raised it by hand.
"The Beast": The Fender Mustang Arell plays. Usually taking the opportunity on his days off from fighting crime or catching fish to sit in with bands, this customized guitar was passed around from such hands such as Evan Johns, Dave Alvin, Marc Ribot and others before appearing in a pawn shop. Arell bought it, but it was mostly customized by the time he got it. He just wired the pickups with some spare wires he had from doing the electrical work on the truck.
"Barn Burner" A hot-rodded Krank tube amplifier that came with the guitar. The amp is known for its screaming guitar tones, a spring reverb Arell installed and also has a secret compartment, where Arell stores a six-pack of beer.
What I rock too: "Dark Night" by The Blasters.
Any extra information: Arell is my first OC. This is the most up-to-date one. He's followed me from RP to RP. This is after his appearances in Marvel Vs. DC and Legion of Superheroes.

Arell and Big Head.
