One's wandering of the forest may bring them out of the dark and into the light once more. This clearing is somewhere along the middle of these woods and holds an air of gentle sweetness. The grass is tall enough to brush just past one's ankles in a ticklish fashion, the flowers that sprinkle in between the lush green varies from species to species, but whether this vast selection of floral decoration is the work of a certain mortal or just a wonder of nature and wind is for the individual to decide. Regardless, there is a delightful mix of smells here that some may find dizzying, while others will delight in it. Rabbits, groundhogs, and several other critters can be found lazing about here, somehow secure despite the open sky threatening them from above. The largest beast one may see is a deer hopping her way through or one of the wild horses enjoying nature's pasture. While strolling through, either taking this destination for a picnic or simple moment of contemplation, the wind will seem to whisper past one's ears. This eerie, yet calming, sound draws the eyes towards a shrine standing humbly in the center. Here, we give worship to the Wind Fairy and it's past followers.

Garland stumbled awkwardly through the long grass, wobbling slightly every once in a while as his foot hit an uneven dip in the terrain. He probably should have kept a better eye on his footing, because wandering through this dense grass was probably dangerous, but he kept his attention firmly up. He had never been this far out into the wilderness of Nirvani before. It was pretty. How come no one told him it was worth the trek?
He was glad he had decided to take on that request. Of course, it wasn't like he had that much going on, and the request had said to wear some old clothes, which was perfect, because all his clothes were old! He didn't really care much about cowboys, but he figured, girls seemed to like the rugged cowboy stereotype well enough, and he needed a new gimmick at work. Skinny-guy-who-can-ride-a-horse was only getting him so far, but a cowboy? That could really get him somewhere, maybe even farther than Sothen, and that man was a radiant epitome of masculine charm. And on top of all that, he got to spend an afternoon in this lovely field? It was too legit, too legit. Garland glanced around the field. He was still alone, so all he had to do was wait for this John guy to show up. John obviously wasn't a chick, which was a bummer, but hey, a bro could use a bro.

The grass was a bit tall, which John liked a lot. He loved the field, where he could hear all the happy chirps of birds and the chattering of what he guessed would be squirrels, or maybe more birds! John liked it either way and he was just looking at the trees in hopes to see one of the great deer of the forest venturing out because it was time to show their young the meadow for no reason he understood because it just seemed unnecessarily dangerous with potential hunters. But, then, he wasn't a deer and, as he felt the sun warm him pleasantly, he could see how it would be something a deer just had to experience! Plus, if they never came out, he would never have a chance to see them – oh.. but.. today.. He turned slightly away and set a hand on the holster at his belt, looking at the dart gun there. He wasn't sure if he wanted a deer to come out when he may be that horrible hunter soon.
John stood there nervously, clad in the full-cowboy gear his father had been supplying him with since before he could remember. Boots, fur chaps, bandana, hat.. Even spurs! Though, he wasn't sure what the spurs were for and he sorta felt nervous walking around with them on when some innocent pill bug could get.. maimed.. Oh, god, he hoped he hadn't hurt any little families! He had leaned down to check the earth fervently for little bodies that he would have to bury because it sounded so mean to just leave them there when he heard the crunch of grass. He shot back up like a bullet and adjusted his hat with a smile at the man who arrived. “Hi!” He greeted and proceeded to stand there, smiling and smiling because there was nothing else to do, was there?

Garland hadn't been standing there for very long, just enough time to enjoy the sounds of birds and the smell of sweet summer grass for a moment longer, before someone appeared out of nowhere. "Whoah!" he cried as he leaped back, assuming a karate-like attack posture. At first, he thought the person was a bear, but then he realized that bears don't wear hats, or fur chaps because they already had a pair built in. Also, bears didn't have blonde hair or pleasant, yet perhaps a little dim, expressions. This was a person, and when Garland, in the split second that it took him to make this realization, adjusted to this, he threw his head back and laughed. "You startled me, man!" he relaxed his posture and walked over to John so he could clap him hard on the shoulder. "What were you doing down there?" This blonde guy was tall so Garland had to stand on his toes and strain to look over his shoulder, just to check if there was something interesting on the ground behind him. He didn't know what he was hoping for, but there was nothing interesting, so he returned to standing normally with a disappointed shrug.
"So," he continued, completely forgetting his surprise and just going on as if this were a totally normal encounter. "Are you John or whatev's? I'm Garland, I saw your request." If he wasn't John, then there wasn't much of a reason to be dressed as a cowboy, was there? Unless he was here for the request, then he definitely won in the dedication department. "Dude, nice hat."

John lifted his hands up automatically to shield himself at the first cry from the man, expecting anger to follow shortly after, but the other just seemed to be surprised and that was it! Ah, what a nice man – not to say that anyone who didn't react in a calm, friendly manner wasn't nice, because that would be a very rude assumption for John to make and John tried his very best to not be rude at all. So, he laughed when he laughed and only flinched a little when the man smacked his shoulder, smiling at him, “I was – oh.” He bent his knees a little as he saw the man try to look over his shoulder for some reason, but he didn't bother questioning it. “I'm sorry, is that better?” He asked before remembering to actually answer the man, but then the other had continued talking again and he could straighten himself up.
Oh! So this was the person who had taken his request! How nice of him! “You're a good person.” He said first with a nod in complete agreement because what else could Garland be? He wanted to help someone as lowly as John! He would have started to cry if he hadn't been taught that crying was the worst response ever unless someone wanted to be pushed out a window. “Thank you. I like your – oh.” He didn't have a hat! Ah, what did he do? He frowned and turned around briefly before realizing he hadn't brought a second hat for the man. All he had brought was a paper bag with a feather-headdress and that really wasn't as nice as his cowboy hat was.
Still, he knelt and picked up the bag from beside his feet, gently taking the headdress out and handing it to the other, “I like your hat more, but Dad says it's not for me. You're the Indian here, anyway. I mean,” He chewed the inside of his cheek for a moment nervously, “if you want to be. But that was the request, so maybe you do? ..I think you would make a good Indian, your hair looks like an Indian's.. Unless you would be a better cowboy..?” He really didn't know at all! John was supposed to be a cowboy but if Garland wanted it more, then, maybe he would have to be the Indian, which would be fine. He guessed. He hoped it would be.

XXXXXXXXXX Xeiro glanced down as she touched his suspender and smiled. It was good to know that he was being well received, but of course he was. He was the man, after all. Maybe she was right. He was feeling considerably hotter since he had approached her. "But, doc. I think you might be making it worse. Though I don't think I have it in me to refuse to submit to you." He couldn't possibly wipe the cheesy grin off of his face at this point if he had tried. It had been quite some time since he had properly flirted with a woman that wasn't only in hopes that they would buy some of his goodies at the bakery. Boy, did it feel good. "I'd hate to be under your permanent care. Tell me, how many men have died of heart attacks by those curves?" The fact that he was incredibly out of practice was showing, but he barely had time to notice as he leaned back just enough to get the optimal view of the rest of her. It wasn't like he cared much anyway. If she thought that he was too cheesy, he was positive that he could just waltz on over to any other girl. She was lucky she sure was hot. He only wondered how they must look from the outside, the two sexiest people here in the two sexiest costumes here.

Lyra was inwardly scoffing as much as humanly possible as she continued walking around the place. June was being a June and her dad was flirting with some girl that appeared to be her own age, it was almost enough to make her want to just run out of the place. But, she wasn't a child anymore and she needed to act like it. She was glaring in her father's direction, hoping to watch him get rejected when she bumped into someone. "Oh, no worries. I wasn't much watching either." She mumbled out before fully turning her attention away from her father. She had half expected this person to just be some random person that she would never be caught dead talking to. To her surprise, he actually seemed to be interesting. She smiled and flipped her hair out of her face as he released her, noting the nice strong grip. "Yeah, festivals are usually the only time some of these crazy people leave their houses. They tend to be a little stir crazy once they do. This is even one of the more uneventful festivals I've seen lately." She smiled, glancing around at the people. "Although the costumes do add some flare. Like yours! Very nice." Now that she had that lovely transition, it gave her a chance to fully check him out and determine how much she liked what she saw. He certainly wasn't the best, but he was far from the worst. That was all she needed to determine that he was worth her time. "So, I take it your new around here?" She trailed her finger gently along a portion of his body paint.

Tshila grinned biting her lip slightly. She didn't think the cheesy pick up lines were just him being in character but they were kind of adorable in a weird sort of way. AT any rate, she didn't mind playing a game of dopey flirtatious antics with a sexy older man...especially since she didn't really know anyone else yet. "Oh, I wouldn't worry about that," Tshila said. "Even if your heart couldn't handle it, I have a few tried and true techniques to...um...stimulate pumping action. And a whole regimen of fun activities to give you a nice cardiac work out." She smirked up at him slightly. "Don't underestimate the skill of these hands," she said, holding them up. "I am a doctor, you know. Well, for tonight anyway. But I'm totally great with my hands all the time."** Michael shivered slightly when the girl in front of him ran a finger over his body paint. Ah...she was pretty bold. Not that he really minded all that much. Bold women were nice sometimes, too. He smiled down at her. "Oh, yours too. You look great," Michael said. "And yeah, I'm pretty new. Michael Pearson, by the way--and, sadly, not Scottish. Love their fashion sense, though. But I think my students might be a little weirded out if I showed up to work in a kilt..."It was a pity too, because he looked awesome in one, if he did say so himself. "So...here by yourself?" Not subtle but, eh. Whatever.

XXXXXXXXXX Xeiro locked his fingers around his suspenders, in attempts to keep them to himself. Sure, this was all fun and games, but he had to keep reminding himself that she was a much younger woman and this was supposed to be a family friendly festival. He couldn't just go around putting his hands on people in public. Though, he never used to mind back in his prime. The good ole days turned into some rather shitty days, and it helped to blame certain behaviors to keep himself from doing them again. Had she said pumping? This girl sure had a way with slipping in certain words that always came as quite a shock. He blew out some air and continued to smile down. Great with her hands, huh? Oh, how he desperately wanted to find out what she could do with those hands. With all of the thoughts racing through his mind, it took him a moment to stop drooling over her and think of a competent response. "I'd love to have some good cardio with you."
As dangerously close as they were already standing, he leaned closer to make sure that no one else could hear the glorious remark that had crossed his mind while looking at how that skirt fit those hips. "And maybe if you get too hot, I can whip out my hose and cool you off."

Lyra enjoyed the compliment almost more than she enjoyed the feel of him shivering under her touch. Oh, he was already turning out to be so much fun! Maybe tagging along to this lame festival wasn't such a bad idea after all. Michael Pearson? She didn't recall hearing that name, although she wasn't quite the social butterfly that she wished she were. That was another reason why she was here, she was determined to force herself into more knowledge about everyone. Students? Ooooo... He was a teacher of some sorts? How adorable! "Lyra Rameri." She smiled, allowing her finger to trail down his arm and then dropped it back to her side. "It's nice to see a fresh face around here, Michael. You really could've fooled me. You look far too good in a kilt to not be Scottish." She smiled again and placed a hand on her hip. "Oh, well I came with my aunt and dad, but they're busy with their own affairs." She flipped her hair with her free hand and looked over at her dad, disgusted that he was still talking to that girl under half his age. Deciding it best to just ignore him, she turned her attention back to Michael. "So, you said students, right? So you teach?" She wasn't sure that she could ever handle being a teacher, but she still had some respect for those who did.

XXXXX "Oh, really? I've seen those hoses firemen use. It probably takes a lot skill and stamina to be able to wield something that big," Tshila teased, leaning in closer so she could whisper next to his ear. "I'd totally love a demonstration sometime, know what I mean? But...then...I'd love to have dinner sometime too." She paused, hoping he didn't think she was just trying to tell him she was hungry. Or some kind of weird cannibal. "With you, I mean. Uh, in case that wasn't clear."She felt like she was kind of taking a risk by basically asking him out because, well, he was older than her and for all she knew, he really just thought of her as some dumb kid. Flirting was one thing but, you know, actually going on a date was another. But...he seemed like a lot of fun and she was not going to get to know him by just ordering pastries at the bakery occasionally. Tshila figured if he turned her down, she hadn't lost anything, really. It would be totally understandable iff he wasn't interested in seeing someone a lot younger--she actually hadn't really ever thought about dating someone so much older than her before either. But hey! She was the kind of girl that just rolled with whatever was given to her so it was all good. Unless he turned her down. That was bad. But she'd just go with it. -- Her dad? Oh, God! Was she one of his students? Michael didn't recognize her. He didn't think she was but he was pretty sure he'd die of horror if he was hitting on (and being hit on) by someone in his class. Probably. Then again, she was very attractive. He followed her gaze to a very fit man who was, maybe, in his late 40s, but who appeared to be chatting up a much younger blonde. Judging by her face, this was either Lyra's father--or someone she really detested. Michael made a mental note: whatever happens, do not piss this young woman off because her father can probably break your spine in half. "Ah, yeah. I teach high school here. Which, pretty much makes up most of entire school," he told her. If she didn't recognize him then she couldn't be a student. That was...that was good. Definitely. "It's a lot of work but all my students are good kids. Well, most of them. There are a couple that need some extra guidance and all that. But they're good kids too, I think."
"Anyway, what about you, Lyra? What do you do? Besides attend parties and basically steal the spotlight from every other woman there, of course..." It was a small town so there probably weren't a lot of options but as long as she didn't say she was a student, he was fine.

XXXXXXXXXX Xeiro was getting his next quip about his massive hose ready when she mentioned dinner. If there was one thing that Xeiro was... it would be related to pound town... If there were two things that Xeiro was... that one would be looking so damn good... If there were three things that Xeiro was ... Five. Five things. If there were five things that Xeiro was, one of them would surely be that he was dedicated to his roles. In fact, if drama didn't seem sooooooo gay, especially when compared to sports, then he probably would've been a part of it in high school. He had always loved to completely submerge himself into different mindsets, although most of the ones he chose were a lot like himself. It was precisely why he loved this festival so much! He could dress up and act like anyone he wanted and he could wear a lot less clothes than normal! But now, he was starting to break character. What did she say? Was that some kind of line? Her clarifications at the end made it all the more clear that she was no longer in character either. This was no longer a fun exchange between a doctor and a fireman that had never met before, this was an exchange between Tshila and Xeiro.
From the day that he had met her, he had always thought of it as some fun and carefree teasing between a hot, young girl and a hot, much older guy. It was something all for fun and never did he imagine that an actual date would come out of it. He was a little unsure about how he felt about it at first, but one look back at that smoking body and he couldn't resist. He smiled down at her, "I'd love to have dinner with you, too." Sure, his daughter and his sister might not like it, but he was the one paying for everything. As far as he could see it, he had nothing to lose. If there were six things that Xeiro was, he was an adventurer.

This guy was turning out to be a good time investment. It was fun to look into those eyes and try to imagine what was going on behind them, and the energy was even more refreshing. It was all too often that she had to deal with dull people that barely gave off any energy at all. Thankfully, this guy seemed to be full of life. The fact that he seemed so interested in her was just another bonus. He talked so highly of his students, it was quite charming. "High school seems like it'd be the hardest to teach. With so much left ahead and everything to think about, school tends to come last. I almost wish that I hadn't graduated just yet, you look like you have a lot that you could teach me." She could play this little game with him, act like she cared about these poor, helpless souls and throw in something special just for him.
Then her favorite subject had cropped back up, herself. She smiled and attempted to work up a bit of a blush at his obvious try at flattery. "Sadly enough, there really aren't many parties around here. None worth someone like me attending anyway." She fluffed up her hair and laughed. "I work at my dad's bakery to suck a little more cash out of him, if you meant work-wise. Other than that, I usually just try to have some fun." There was still a pretty good chance that this guy could turn out to be a creepy stalker or something and telling him all the details of where she liked to hang out might not be the best idea just yet. The bakery was safe since if she couldn't handle kicking his a**, she knew her dad could. "What about you? What do you like to do besides taking care of all your lovely children and delivering smooth lines at festivals?"

Tshila had actually been expecting to be turned down or something. Because Xeiro was a mature older guy and things and she was, well, herself. She got turned down a lot. And cheated on. And stood up. So she supposed there was still time for either of the latter two, but at least she didn't get instantly rejected! That was great! She was totally ecstatic because, well, even if he was older and stuff, he wasn't just good looking. He was also, you know, funny and things and she wanted to get to know him a little better outside of stopping in to buy croissants and seeing him in costume at parties. Plus, he could apparently cook! That was totally cool. She'd always thought men who were good cooks were definitely worth getting to know. And, actually, he was kind of the only person she really even knew on the island except her colleagues at work. "We should totally do that sometime then. Like, really soon, you know? So...is this where I ask for your number, or is that your job?" she teased. ** Michael smirked down at Lyra. Okay. Well, that answered that question, thankfully. He felt much safer flirting with her now. Well, sort of. Her father, the hulking--wait, did she just say he was a baker!? What the hell? That was...weird. He tried to shake that bit of weirdness off as he grinned at her. "Well, to be honest, I think that if you're not one of my students, I might still have a thing or two to teach you," he told her. "At least, I'd like to think so."
"And I haven't really settled into anything here. It's a pretty quiet island so I was thinking of taking up surfing or rock climbing or something. Back home, my hobby was my motorcycle--and the occasional road trip. Basically I like anything that gets the adrenaline going. Then again, it's no so bad living in a quiet place if there are people who can get the adrenaline going too." "Or who can at least inspire the occasional smooth line."

XXXXXXXXXX Ecstatic may be a bit of an understatement, but he was doing his best to hide it. Even the biggest of egos experienced some minor downfalls while going through a dry spot. Although he would love to go deeper into his character and send some more witty one-liners towards this doctor, the sun was sure setting fast. He tipped his hat to the younger woman and smiled. "Don't you worry, I can walk you through this." Just because he was acting like himself, didn't mean that he couldn't still put on the charm. "There's no need for exchanging numbers. I have my ways of getting to you." He punctuated with a wink. Everyone knew that a man of mystery was the best kind of man. That was precisely why he grabbed her hand and planted a kiss on the back of it without another word and began to walk away. He wanted to look back and make sure that she was watching his dramatic exit, but he knew that that would ruin it. He kept his head high and continued on the path towards his daughter. It wasn't until he really began to clear his mind that he noticed she was talking to some strange young man. He assumed that he should be happy that she had chosen a man this time, but it still made him uncomfortable.
The same young girl that he had just changed the diapers of was all giggly and perky. That was completely unacceptable. She was simply too young! He continued on his path towards the exit and only stopped momentarily to get a good grip on Lyra and toss her over his shoulder. After all, this was the best way to be sure that she was under his control.

Lyra didn't have to force a blush this time, thanks to that lovely line about teaching her. Oh a motorcycle! That was incredibly exciting, she had always wanted to be sexy while on the back of a motorcycle. Adrenaline, eh? This guy was starting to sound even better. One more wonderfully smooth line and she may just have to take him home with her! What in the world? Was she being groped by some freaky stranger? She was about to do some magical back flip when she realized that a) she couldn't do that and b) it was her dad. She really couldn't believe how low he was falling and was determined to have a talk with him. On the other hand, her chance at most likely ever talking to this guy again were quickly dwindling. She reached her arm out for him in an overly dramatic way and began mouthing her phone number. She wished more than anything that she had dressed up as something that carried a pen and paper, but hoping wouldn't help anything. With the final number, she dropped her arm and looked longingly in his direction. The fact that he was being taken away from her, made it all the more exciting. She just desperately hoped that he could read lips.
