An average, comfortable double room with more decorations than the simpler single rooms in the inn. The television has almost thirty channels! Of course, most of them are cowboy-related, but there are more options here than before. The maids tend to come at a reasonable time of early morning - at least working as a constant alarm clock, if anything. There's a handheld game system on the bedside table.

Adjusting the strap of the bag that hung heavily from her shoulder, Yuri glanced around the inn hallway as she came to a stop in front of the door. She didn't know why the idea of being seen made her feel a little bit shy, but it wasn't until she was sure that no snoopy maids or other guests were around that she could relax. Room 108... That was the room number Jacob had told her, but she was still apprehensive -- had she gotten the right one? It probably looked bad that she wasn't 100% confident this was her destination. This was just so weird. She had never come to the inn as a non-guest before, not that she had ever really come to the inn that often anyway. She had a perfectly good house, why would she need it? Even stranger, Junior was theoretically inside, if Jacob weren't just pulling her leg -- why would he check into the inn, if not for something really terrible? Then there was the fact that Jacob had called her to let her know about it, and the strangest of all... she had come. Well, maybe that last one had a simple explanation; it was only fair, afterall. Junior was always quick to come to her rescue when she was having trouble at home, or couldn't find her way home from the bar, so why shouldn't she set aside her plans to check in on him? It was her birthday, but she had not much else planned, so she had just assumed she'd spend it with him anyway. Still, the situation was strange, and she felt kind of off.

There wasn't much of a reason to continue standing out in the hall like some creeper, so after glancing around one more time to make sure that no one thought she was a hooker or anything, she knocked gently on the door, to the rhythm of On the Good Ship Lollipop. Oh, she hoped she had gotten the right room.

It wasn't really that bad being alone in the inn room. Sure, Junior had spent most of his time awkwardly staring at the door and willing someone to come through so he could pretend to have a conversation with them and imagine he was getting the social interaction he needed. But, not even a maid had come in to ruin his 'plan', which he guessed was pretty okay. After all, Junior had gotten a room at the inn so he could not infect anyone else, not so he could have fun and make a friend or something else that was equally impossible. He resisted the urge to scratch at the rash slowly developing on his hands and probably up his arms before the day was over. ..It didn't look like it was going to go away any time soon.. He just hoped Yuri would stay away from the bar or from June or.. Well, maybe not June, because it would be okay, he guessed, if she was to – er. He sighed, which quickly turned into a cough, which then turned into a whimper because ow his throat really, really hurt.

After the fit had finished, he realized that someone actually was knocking on his door! He stood up quickly in excitement, before sitting back down because oh, God, what did he say? He guessed he should just ask them to.. go away, but if it was their job to be here, he supposed it would be so wrong to just tell them not to work – what kind of person would do that? Some people literally had nothing else outside of work! Or.. or maybe just one person, like Junior. He scratched his wrist and frowned before straightening his pajamas out and heading to open the door. “....Ah.” The sound came out hushed, but rough and scratchy as one who hadn't even finished their first glass of water from the night before usually did. He felt himself heat up, though he wasn't entirely sure if it was because he was getting worse or if it was due to Yuri standing outside of his inn room. “Uh, I..” He paused as he was still trying to process the situation, allowing himself to come to a conclusion as he darted his eyes to the left and shrunk further behind the door. “..I think you.. have the wrong room.

The longer Yuri waited out in the hallway, the more convinced she was that someone was going to walk by and see her and think the wrong thing and oh goodness she was maybe risking everything by coming here, wasn't she? Actually, enough time had passed that she wondered if she had gotten the wrong room, or if Jacob had just been messing with her afterall. Probably anyone else wouldn't have had thought much of a delay this length, but Yuri was very good at psyching herself out in a very short amount of time. She was just about to give up, to go home and spend the rest of her birthday feeling dumb, when the door opened. "Ah," she said almost simultaneously with Junior's own reaction, it just slipping out without her realizing. She was relieved that it wasn't a ploy, though now that they were both there, she was beginning to transition into worry-mode. "Don't be silly, Junior," she shook her head. "Who else would I be visiting at the inn?" It wasn't like she had a lot of friends, afterall.

Glancing over her shoulder, she looked down the hall hesitantly. Were those footsteps approaching? Afraid of what it'd look like, her in her heels and her bag, with Junior in his pajamas, she quickly slipped into the room -- rather, pushed her way into the room, whether Junior was in the way or not. "Your uncle called me," she explained as she looked around the room. It wasn't really her taste, but maybe there were worse places to be sick. The pattern on those bedspreads was making her feel a little ill, though. "You're sick?" she questioned, looking at him as directly as she could; she wasn't going to let him stutter his way out of answering the question when he could be dying. ...Well, probably not dying, he didn't look that sick, though his voice did seem a bit raspy. At this observation, her expression softened. "What are you doing here all alone, if you're sick?" Seriously, what was she going to do with him?

Junior glanced away at that question, unsure if she really wanted an answer or not. It wasn't that he thought anything bad of Yuri, really! She was a wonderful person and a great friend with a heart of gold if she was willing to put up with him, but... Oh, no, no, he wasn't going to think of that. That was a horrible thing to have ever thought ever – Yuri wasn't that kind of girl and.. and she had even come to see him on her birthday, of all days! That was today, right? She should be having cake and drinks at the bar with a multitude of friends that she surely had, not wasting it on some sick waste of space like him. He didn't even have a present for her yet! Even worse, she would get sick if she came into the room, but he didn't know how exactly to tell her to leave without telling her he was sick because then she would feel obligated to come inside even though he didn't understand why and – Oh, she was already in. He stood a good few feet away from her, keeping his hands to himself in case she touched the rash and got whatever this thing was. He didn't have much of a chance to look it up, really, he just sorta figured hiding out in an inn room and waiting it out would be his first priority before anyone he cared about got it too.

U-uncle Jacob did..?” He frowned a little at that – why...? He didn't know if he could or wanted to know the answer to that one – Jacob was a strange man at times. Junior had to focus on figuring out how to get out of this situation in a way that wouldn't ultimately ruin the sole friendship he had managed to somehow maintain over the years. He fiddled with his pajamas as he maneuvered his way towards the bathroom, hoping that, maybe, he could sneak his way in there, close the door-- or he could explain himself because Yuri had already figured out what was going on. He stopped and looked at her with wide eyes, only moving to scratch his wrist for the moments he remained like that. “Uh.” He tried to swallow, but that hurt too much to even attempt, so he gave up stalling and decided to be out with it. “I-It's not that bad. It's just a, um, fever, but I didn't want to... infect anyone else, so... Um, if you could..?

For a moment, Yuri felt bad for Junior. He just looked so thrown off to see her there, to have his plan sabotaged by his own uncle. Not that she thought that locking oneself in a room at the inn was a very good plan, but you know. He deserved to get satisfaction where he could get it. She knew what he was hinting at, and maybe a more respectful or empathetic person would have politely left him alone. But Yuri Allen was neither respectful or empathetic. So she just ignored him, and continued on as if he were just making noise. "I didn't know what you had, so I just sort of... assembled what I could," she continued, walking over to the table to set down her bag. She opened it and began to root through, taking out several things and setting them down on the table next to it. Most of it was miscellaneous, like a hot water bottle, a banana, a mostly-empty bottle of cough syrup, a flask... "Whoops, that's for me," she said as she swept the flask back into her bag. "Now, a fever..." She looked back over to Junior and glanced him over. She didn't want to get sick, obviously, but if it was just a fever... Well, then she probably didn't need the surgical face mask she had brought just in case. "You shouldn't be standing up, Junior! Go, go, get in bed," she waved her hand at him before returning to her bag.

To be honest, she didn't know a whole lot about fevers. She hadn't been a mother long enough to really get the hang of basic healthcare like that. The few times the twins had developed a cough or a fever, she had spent most of her time hyperventilating and waiting for June to tell her what to do. This... was new to her. "Have you eaten anything recently?" she asked, eying the banana on the table. "Oh! Or water! Junior, you need to drink lots of water, have you been doing that?" She pulled out a bag of straws. It had been an impulse buy, but straws made drinking easier, right? Maybe there was a logic to her madness after all.

Really, could anyone honestly expect that Junior would actually protest more than a small frown? The man nodded quickly as the woman shooed him off to bed, only pausing to glance over the items she had brought perplexedly and with maybe a bit of humor that he tucked away somewhere she couldn't hope to find. It was.. pretty silly, to be honest, that she had obtained such an odd assortment of things to help him out. He winced as he climbed into bed, but not because of any real pain – he was just looking at that banana and wondering if she expected him to eat it. He had tried some soup, but something solid like that would just be painful! Not that he wouldn't do it, that is, since.. Well, it was Yuri and, even if he was so worried that she was going to get sick and it was just the tiniest bit frustrating that she hadn't listened to him, he couldn't help not feeling a little good about this. She had taken time out of her day – one of the most eventful days of the year – just to see he was okay.

Thank you.” He mumbled as he pulled the blanket up over the lower half of his face, muffling it further. He wasn't sure if he wanted her to hear that sentiment, considering it may encourage her to do it more and he didn't want her putting herself out because of him. So, he moved on to answer her question, “I.. Ah, I.. haven't, but.. My throat hurts a lot.” He lowered the blanket, fiddling with it as he sent a look to the clock on the bedside table. It was getting late.. She would miss her birthday altogether and the New Year's party, too, if he kept her here any longer. He debated with himself for a brief moment before turning back to look at Yuri, “..I'm okay. I'm an adult and.. you should go have fun.” He smiled, honestly happy he was given the opportunity to say, “Happy birthday, Yuri.” Or he was happy he mustered up those words before he started to cough because, ow, he said that too loud and too fast.

Yuri glanced at Junior over her shoulder, pleased to see that he had put himself to bed as she had told him to. It was sort of a ticklish feeling, playing nurse like this! It wasn't the sort of playing nurse that she was used to, but she still sort of liked it. Obviously, she would have had more fun if Junior had been healthy and in a good mood to celebrate her birthday and New Year's with her. But being sick was beyond anyone's control, so she tried not to let it bother her. "Sore throat, huh," she frowned and looked at the things she had assembled. The banana would probably be hard to swallow, but what if she mashed it...? No, she hadn't packed a fork. Or anything to hold the mashed banana. "Well, water's probably more important." Right? She had no idea, she probably should have done some research beforehand.

Grabbing the straws from the table, Yuri went to the bathroom to get a cup and fill it with tap water. This was probably something that Junior could have done for himself, but she had been woefully unprepared for someone who had done so much preparation, and it was the least she could do. Or the most. She dropped a straw into the cup and went over to leave it on Junior's bedside table. "Here. I guess it's okay if you don't eat, but you should at least drink something. Stay hydrated, s**t like that." Now that she wasn't fiddling with her bag, she felt awkward just standing there. She could really use her flask right now...

That's when she realized, he had told her to go. In an almost completely hesitation-free sentence, with a smile, and... he had remembered her birthday! She wasn't surprised about that last one, they had been friends for a long time and she had made a big deal about it in the past, but the other stuff! "Junior," she smiled at him, genuinely touched. Here he was, hacking up a lung, and he was still thinking about her. "Thank you, it really means a lot that you--" She finally noticed the time. How had this day gone by so fast? She still had to change before she went to the bar (and caught up on her pre-drinking, that flask was no accident). "Oh jeez, it's late isn't it? I need to go if I want to make it to the bar in time... I'll let you rest, drink the water!" Looking down at him in bed, she was suddenly overcome by affection for her pathetic, sickly friend, and she bent down as if to kiss him lightly on the forehead, but then she remembered that he was sick and abort abort abort. "...Anyway, I guess if you really need anything, I'll have my phone, so..." she cleared her throat, patted him politely on the head, then went to grab her bag, leaving the hot water bottle, the bottle of cough syrup, the banana, and the bag of straws where they were.

After gathering her things and wiping her hand on her jeans, she looked over at Junior one more time. "Sorry I couldn't stay longer. Feel better, okay? I'll call to check in on you tomorrow." That is, if her New Year's ended up being a bust. More likely, she'd be too hungover to remember, but she couldn't admit that to a sick person. With a small wave goodbye, she stepped back out into the hallway and made her way home~
