Johnny K. Gambino's Gold Mountain, located in Isle de Gambino, is Gaia's Casino. You can indulge yourself in one of the pursuits offered here such as Slot Machines, Blackjack Tables and Pinball.

The Inside of the casino is decorated to resemble the Isle with golden floors, palm trees and a blue ceiling with clouds and lightning bolts painted on. This lavish opulence should get you in the mood to start having a good time!

As well as featuring many gambling and gaming pursuits to distract yourself with the casino also has its own shop Prize & Joy, here you can buy your gaming tokens and spend all those hard won tickets on a fine selection of prizes!

~*~Gaia Slots~*~

There are many, many slot machines in gold mountain, Johnny Gambino was a visionary and he envisioned you spending all your gold here! Slot machines are enticing and a lot of fun, gamble hard and win fabulous prizes!

User Image

How to Play:
Up to three tokens can be bet in any one spin and spending more tokens produces more winnings if two or three icons appear in a row, the more you risk the more you could gain.

'Winnings tokens' are only available in the game. These can be used again like regular tokens or can be cashed into tickets to spend in Prize & Joy. If the game is exited while there are still winnings present, they will be lost, so remember to cash your winnings into tickets before closing the game.

There are five different icons on the slot machine reels, which will align themselves randomly once spun, although the icons with less value have more of a chance to land than more valuable ones. To win on two-of-a-kind the icons on the reel must be next to each other. For example: 'wing: wing: coin' is a win, but 'halo: coin: halo' is not.

Watch the reels closely and keep your fingers crossed for the jackpot!

~*~Blackjack / Gaia Cards~*~

Ah the cards, what a noble game of art and skill... You will play against three different casino employees in a battle of wits and risk. Thrilling!

User ImageUser ImageUser Image

How to Play:
-Gaia Cards hands are scored by their point total. The hand with the highest total wins as long as it doesn't exceed 21.
-A hand with a higher total than 21 is counted as a 'bust'.
-Cards 2 through 10 are worth their face value, and face cards (jack, queen, king) are also worth 10.
-An ace's value is 11 unless this would cause the player to bust, in which case it is worth 1. A hand in which an ace's value is counted as 11 is called a 'soft hand' because it cannot be busted if the player draws another card.

Your goal is to beat the dealer by having the higher, un-busted hand. however if the player busts the lose, even if the dealer also busts.

If both the player and the dealer have the same point value, it is called a 'push' and neither player nor dealer wins the hand. This causes that hand's token to be added to the potential winnings for the next hand!

A two-card hand of 21 (an ace plus a ten-value card) is called a 'blackjack' and is an automatic winner!

The basic play patterns are as follows:
-If the dealer has blackjack and the player doesn't, the player automatically loses.
-If the player has blackjack and the dealer doesn't, the player automatically wins.
-If both the player and dealer have blackjack then it's a push.
-If neither side has blackjack, then each player plays out their hand.

The player's options for playing his or her hand are:
• Hit: Take another card.
• Stand: Take no more cards.
• Double down: Double the wager, take exactly one more card, and then stand.

Cheating:
The real difference in Gaia Cards is all the dirty, dirty cheating going on! Yep the house cheats you cheat everyone cheats! This does add a level of challenge and fun and trademark Gaian humour to the game...

Your Cheat:
As you play, a small meter under your face will fill with red, this is your rage/cheat meter. When this meter fills up you will have the option to use your super power by clicking the cheat button, allowing you to see the dealer's face down card. This is advantageous upon certain questionable hands such as a face up 10. Use this wisely and it will give you a definite edge!

NPC's Cheats:
-Russell Ace: - Will use Pocket Ace and deal out an ace to make his hand better.
-Jinx: - Will use Fresh Start and re-deal her entire hand based on your hand.
-Cardbot: - Will use either Fresh Start and or Pocket Ace depending on which is to its advantage.

Life Bars :
The life bar on the top represents one's wins/loss ratio throughout a session of Gaia Cards. Your bar may turn gold or even platinum depending on the play/return ratio!
NOTE: If you cash in your winnings for tickets, your health bar will go down.

As you win the life bar of the NPC you are playing against will decrease and once it hits zero the next one appears, After beating Cardbot the cycle starts over and you will fight Russell again.

~*~Pinball~*~

Definitely the odd game out in Gold Mountain as it is the only game in the casino that doesn't require tokens to play, also instead of tickets it pays out gold and has its own set of rewards.

It is however a smart edition to the casino ( a bit of variety makes things much more interesting) and was also beta tested extensively by our beloved Gaian Shop Keeper Ian.

How to play:
It is the only game on Gaia that requires keyboard buttons to play and a tutorial screen will flash up before you begin.

The pinball table is itself based on Barton Town, although features from other locations are present. Visible on the table is the Arena, Barton Boutique, Train Station, Gold Mountain, Bass'ken Lake, The Ole Fishing Hole, Gambino Mansion, Bank of Gambino and the Marketplace.

There are various things to hit on the table. The most obvious as a new game starts are the 'OMG Boxes' dotted around. There are Grunnies on the right, if all three are hit then the field multiplier is increased. Characters sometimes wander around, including bots, cows and Rock Puppy.

Gambino's Mansion on the left can be destroyed and rebuilt, earning gold to spend in Barton Boutique for power-ups. If the mansion is destroyed and rebuilt four times, Von Helson Mansion will appear and if the ball is hit into it, the player has the chance to defeat Vladimir Von Helson and the Von Helson Sisters by lighting up all the letters that spell VON HELSON. This extra level is very difficult and so yields a high point bonus if successfully completed.

Power-ups obtained from Barton Boutique are added to the player's inventory and can be sold if not used in game.

Power-Ups:
-Arm Floaties: Save your pinball at the last second with these Floaties. Very stylish.
-Insurance Policy: Turn on the side drain kickbacks with an insurance policy. I saved money by switching, and you can too.
-Sticky Paddle: Keeps your pinball stuck to the paddles. How'd it get sticky?
-Fishing Net: Upgrades your fish targets instantly! Not for catching bugs.
-Bag of Marbles: Instant Multiball! Triple your pleasure, triple your fun!
-Fool's Gold: Adds to your multiplier. Great for Gold Farmers.
-Stuffed Armadillo: The ultimate pinball upgrade, an extra ball. The rare stuffed armadillo's natural predator is the stuffed rattlesnake.

Prizes:
Pinball prizes are awarded if a certain score is reached at the end of the game. If, for example, 2,000,000 points are reached, the player would earn both the Armadillo Pinball and Bullseye Shirt, as well as gold.
-1,000,000 points - Bullseye Shirt: A target top for players with skills.
-2,000,000 points - Armadillo Pinball: The armadillo. One of the few animals that can turn into a ball.
-5,000,000 points - Steel Pinball Head: You're so hard headed.
-15,000,000 points - Gaia Pinball machine: Exciting !!!

Plot References:
Ok it is kind of obvious that this game is chock full of nods at Gaia's past and plot so let's go through them.

The most obvious plot reference is the destroying/rebuilding process of Gambino Mansion. The mansion on the Isle de Gambino has been destroyed four times by an explosion, the tower collapsing, a fire, and UFOs breaking in. To destroy the mansion, the player must first hit all three Vials of Unknown Liquid (a reference to the outbreak of the Grombie Virus), and to rebuild, three cans of Red Bino Energy Drink (a reference to the Zurg invasion) must be cleared.

Pictures are on the playing surface too. One of them is a UFO abducting a cow, this appears during the event of the UFO flying about. Along with that, on the right side of the surface are three Grunnies with their own picture. The images on the right also change to show scenes from past manga and miscellaneous Gaia art.

There are naturally more subtle hints and nods but these are key points that nod to pretty big events in Gaia's past. The rest it's up to you to spot!
