Powers: She can manipulate shadows and move through the shadows. She can also cause shadow damage which can only be healed by a miko.
Weapon: A sword called Marasen which is made to harness shadow power. She also carries 4 daggers on her body.
History: Hotaru grew up as the daughter of the Lord of the Southern Lands. When she was 400 years of age, her father, her only remaining relative, was killed. She escaped and manage to stay alive, hiding in the wilds. As she grew, her determination to take back her lands made her cold and calculating. Within time, she managed to find a companion that she called Hiro. He was a black shadow wolf that she took under her wing. When Naraku became noticeable, she attempted to remain distant from his notice, keeping her power low so that he would not be able to find her. She stays out of his path, although she would often come across the aftermath of villages that were destroyed.
Personality: Her personality is cold and calculating but she has a softer side that will show itself more often than not, especially around children. She helps humans and youkai alike, not caring that the species often distrust each other. She grew up with this affinity since the southern lands held many villages of youkai and humans alike.
Other: Her grandmother was once human but was turned into a Inu Youkai by an evil youkai. She still carries the pendant around her neck. The pendant is a symbol of eternity.
