I think we could all benefit from this and learn to eventually let go.


When I was 12 years old I looked at you as a father figure. . I felt like I could tell you everything. . Then one night everything changed. . You woke me up out of my sleep and already had your pants off. . Before I knew what was happening you were taking off my pants too. I asked you what you were doing and you pinned me to the ground. . You were 24. . Do you remember that.? How I asked you to stop. . .To think about what you were doing to me. . . You didn't care. . You didn't listen. . I tried to push you off of me but you wouldn't budge. .I am now 17 years old and our daughter is 4. She looks more and more like you every single day. . .But its not your fault that she looks like you. . .I have to remind myself that from time to time. . I hate how it happened but I forgive you. . Not because you have any value to me , but because I serve a God that has a plan for me. My daughter is a huge part of that plan. She has my smile . . My laugh . . .And gives me a reason to continue breathing when I feel useless. So not only is this a forgivness letter. . It is also a thank you letter. As awkward as that might sound. Thank you for giving me a reason to keep the past behind me, and a reason to smile everyday.
