David Drake is the CEO of Drake Corporation - you name it, they designed it. Contracted by the Department of Defense, Drake engineered a suit for military use. Soldiers would be protected from harm as well as have their battle capabilities amplified and augmented by things like flight thrusters and hand cannons. The project was shut down due to the prohibitively high cost, but Drake kept tinkering with it. Calling himself the Dragon, he used the first prototype of his suit to foil bank robberies and the like. After a dust-up involving electrically charged terrorists, British ninjas and the son of Poseidon, Drake revealed what he had been doing with his free time, making Dragon armor the most sought-after technology in war. However, Drake refused to actually market the armor, preferring to keep it for himself. If Dragon armor were to fall into the wrong hands, things would get ugly.
Drake has several suits, such as the basic Dragon, the heavy tanker Jericho and the artillery High Command. Seeking a new challenge, Drake adapted his D2 Jericho suit into an ultralightweight model that he could use for competition in professional wrestling. The cannons and thrusters were taken out, and the control scheme was simplified for athletic use. Model Jericho suits with minimal augmentation capability are being produced in a variety of colors for the open market, expected to launch late next year.
