The top of Mount Sumeru is a shrine dedicated to the Four Heavenly Kings of the cardinal directions. The Four Deva Kings guide the members of Hogasha on their mission of spreading literacy to worlds far and near. The statues stand facing in the directions that they command; Tamon-ten faces North, Zōjō-ten faces South, Jikoku-ten faces East, and Kōmoku-ten faces west. There is a shrine at the center of the summit perfectly centered between the four statues that is used for communicating with beings from other worlds.
