...............Rosie listened with visible interest as Valkyrie began to explain her involvement in Gotham. Her smile growing each time a familiar name was mentioned, then fading slightly as she tried to recall the event attached to the name. She couldn't recall Catwoman ever taking in strays... and she didn't remember any museum event that the Scarecrow hit up. She was beginning to feel more and more like she was in a completely different world all together. She wasn't sure how that was possible... but she had managed to create some rather bizarre things when she botched up spells. It could be possible that she just pulled some crap that she'd usually only see on that sifi channel. But... ugh. Still so weird to even try to think about. A different Gotham? No way. This was all just.... stuff that happened on the down low. Or... stuff that happened one day and was forgotten about the next. Yeah... that one was the more likely. With everything that went on with the numerous villains in Gotham, it was likely that someone did something bigger the next day.
...............When the girl revealed that she wasn't human, Rosie's smile fell completely. Her expression, while still greatly attentive, became more serious and thoughtful compared to Valkyrie's Gotham tale. Mostly because this seemed like a more serious situation. The girl was talking about her history, and any story that began with “I'm not human” deserved undivided attention. The other reason for Rosie's sudden change in demeanor was... well she wasn't human herself. Not in the “traditional” or “technical” aspect of the term anyway. She had always considered herself a “normal” girl though. Well, normal in the meta human sort of way. And... normal as far as being raised by a psychopath went.
Rosie's frown fell a little further. Did she mention any of this to her rooftop pal? Would it make her feel better knowing that Rosie was made on the spur of the moment through magic? Would she have to explain the Joker bit then? Would that scare her away? Or would it just sound like she was trying to one-up Valkyrie's story? She didn't want to do that with a girl who could go totally supergirl on metal railing.
...............Then the very odd sight of the giant white....... flying tiger blowing away all of the gas......... drew Rosie's attention away as well. She stared at the thing, blinking several times as she watched it vanish down the street. She couldn't think of anything to say at that point. Joker would have had a slew of things to say, but she just.... was dumbfounded. Where the heck do you find giant flying tigers that blow away toxic gas? In a city no less. That's just.... she wasn't used to supers like this. She was ASSUMING it was some sort of anthromorphic super hero anyway. That was.... the only logical explanation she could think of. Valkyrie spoke again before she did, and all Rosie could do was nod her head in agreement at the comment about the Tiger. She continued to listen to the other girl, but kept her eyes on the trail the Tiger had taken. Still distracted by the previous sight.
” …...squishies?” Rosie asked, turning her full attention back towards Valkyrie. The word had caught her attention. Mostly because it was an odd thing to say in a conversation. A moment later, the latter part of Valkyrie's conversation sank in. ”Oh! You mean it?” Rosie asked, her expression a sudden mix of excitement and relief. And why not? She had no idea where anything was at in this city, and the most she could hope for was a nice rooftop or park tree to curl up and sleep on for the night. Plus this was turning out to be a potential friendship, and that was always a plus as long as her Dad wasn't anywhere near either of them. He tended to scare them off. Or kill them. ”Thank you. You have no idea how much of a relief that is. I have no idea where anything is in this City, who anyone is, who I need to look out for, where I shouldn't go, anything. When no one could help me out at all with getting back to Gotham, I though for sure I'd be camping it out somewhere tonight. Anything with a roof over my head is a good thing.” she continued, then smiled widely. ”And if there's anything you need, just lemme know. A place to stay and saving my skirt, I definitely owe ya.” she said, practically beaming back at the other girl. It was quite clear that her admittance to not being human, or her little history, didn't bother Rosie at all. "I can't do some of the really handy things that you can, but my magic isn't half bad when I can get it to work properly."
