Here is our entry:

Who are we?

Black Twin's Name: Hēi lóng 黑龙
Meaning: Black Dragon in Chinese
Owner: I am Smok
Personality: Willful and mischievous. Loyal to her sister, and strongly protective of her.

White Twin's Name: Bái lóng 白龙
Meaning: White Dragon in Chinese
Owner: Shanra the Dragon Bard
Personality: Very loyal to her sister, always looking out for her safety and best interests. Loving and nurturing towards all creatures.

Prompt: (what's your prompt?) Hēi has found herself in a tight spot, and Bái has to figure out how to get her sister out of it.

RP: Toto came running into the cave as Bái was trying to take her afternoon nap. It had been a long night, and it felt like she had closed her eyes only moments before. "Bái! Bái! Come quick!" the small bobcat cried. "Your sister has gone and done it again." Bái's eyes shot open at the word sister, and she looked her familiar in the eyes. This was not the first time she had heard these words. Her sister was constantly getting herself into situations that she was unprepared to extricate herself from. When it happened, it was Bái who had to come to her rescue. "Slow down Toto, and catch your breath. It is obvious you have been running for some time to get here. What has she gone and done this time that requires my attention?" The small cat sat down on its haunches and drew in the damp air of the cave, then began to expound upon the black dragons most recent adventure.

Hēi was not at all happy at the moment. Her day had started out as most did, searching for food, bathing in the cool water of the lake, and drying herself in the warm sunlight as she laid upon the sandy shore. However, the day took an abrupt turn when she decided to go investigate a very inviting looking cave. She'd been taking a stroll through the forest, sniffing out small creatures here and there, but not finding them, when she came across the cave opening in the side of a small hill. She was hoping she would find something of interest in the cave, and her expectations were not in vain. Once she entered the cave, it became clear that something else was using it for its home. She moved cautiously, deeper into the dimly lit opening, eyes swiftly darting from side to side, ever alert for danger. As she moved further into the dark interior, her eyes made out piles of crystal shards lying strewn upon the dirt floor.

Bái listened closely as Toto relayed the news to her. What she heard chilled her heart in her chest. For just a moment, she wondered if she would be able to save her sister from this recent lapse of judgement, but just for a moment and then the doubt disappeared. She rose from her resting place saying, "Come Toto, show me the way," and the two left the safety of the cave; Bái deep in thought on what she was going to say and do, and Toto just hoping he would come out of this alive and in one piece. They traveled to the edges of the territory she and her sister lived in, and yet Toto led her onward. "Toto, are you sure she came this far?" The little bobcat stopped, turned to her friend and said, "Yes. It is not much farther, but it's definitely this way." She nodded her head for him to continue as she followed where he led. The sun was high overhead by the time Toto came to a stop. Bái could sense that they were now in another dragons territory, and she had to wonder what had compelled her sister to go any further on her own.

Hēi walked ever so quietly to the closest pile of crystals and lowered her head to get a better look at them. She had never before seen so many in one place, and the temptation to reach out with her feet, and feel them under her toes was beyond bearable. They seemed to be singing to her, and the song was tugging at her heart. Common sense was telling her to back away, and leave the cave now, but they were so pretty, and they were lying there all alone. How could she leave them? She laid down on the floor of the cave, and put her nose as close as she could without actually touching any of them. At this level, she could almost see her reflection in the closest ones. It was then that she noticed something else in the reflection, and it wasn't being made by her. It was huge, and it was dark, and she suddenly realized that she was not alone. In a panic, she leaped to her feet, tried to turn around, and promptly tripped on her own tail, sending herself into the pile of crystals she had just been admiring.

Bái instructed Toto to stay where he was, then began to make her way closer to the cave. As she neared the opening, she could hear the deep rumble of a dragons voice, and she at once knew it was not her sisters. She took a moment before entering, to reflect on what she was going to say in order to get her sister out of the cave alive and in one piece. Dragons were not creatures that took invasion of their hoard caves lightly. She and Hēi had yet to accumulate their own hoard of crystals, so she could understand why her sister might have become entranced by another dragons, but there were just some things a dragon did not do, and entering this cave was one of them. It would take a good bit of finesse and quick thinking to convince the owner of the cave to let Hēi go unscathed. Deciding that the slow and quiet approach was not the way to attack this problem, she instead charged ahead, loudly calling out her sisters name. "Hēi! Are you in there? Hēi, answer me! There is an emergency at home and you are needed at once!" She stopped abruptly, as a large male dragon turned to see who it was that had entered his sanctuary.

"Who are you, and why are you making so much noise in my cave?"

"Excuse me, but my name is Bái," she answered. She then saw her sister, backed up against the far wall and continued. "I have been looking for my sister, and followed her scent here, to your cave. I am in need of her assistance with something, so if you don't mind, we will be leaving you to your own business." She turned her attention to her sister and said, "Come Hēi, let's go. You can come back and visit your friend another time."

Hēi breathed an inward sigh of relief when she heard her sisters voice. As the male turned his attention to Bái, she quickly moved to a position that would afford her an easier exit. As she did so, she disturbed some of the crystals, and the sound of them clinking together, drew the males attention back to her. She stopped in her tracks and froze. Taking the cue from her sister she said, "I'm sorry, but as you can see, my sister is in need of my help. I will be happy to come back and visit with you at a later time if you wish."

"Come back?" he said. "I don't seem to remember inviting you in the first place. Where exactly did we meet?" He stood there staring down at her.

Her mind was racing, trying to come up with something plausible to say in response. He seemed like an older dragon, and by the amount of crystals in his cave, he must have been hoarding them for a long time. So perhaps his memory was not as sharp as a younger dragons. She could only hope she was right as she said, "You don't remember me? We met in the forest the other day. You were flying overhead and saw me on the ground, and came down to see who it was that had happened into your territory. I couldn't stay, but you invited me to come back and visit with you. I didn't even have time to introduce myself, or ask your name before I had to leave. When I got here today, you weren't here, and I didn't think you would mind if I came in to wait for you." Now she could only hope that he accepted her answer. She looked over at her sister to see what sort of reaction she was having to her story.

Hēi was telling quite a tale, and Bái wasn't entirely sure that it was a tale, and not true. She was curious to see how the male dragon responded to it.

"Is that right?" he said. "I do tend to meet any number of dragons in my sojourning, so perhaps we did meet as you say. My name is Drako, and I see yours is Hēi."

Bái felt a weight lift from her body as Drako spoke. He then turned his attention back to her.

"And you are her sister?"

"I am. Now, if you don't mind, we really do need to be going. Perhaps one day soon, you would grace us with a visit, and we can get to know each other better."

"Hmm, I suppose if you must go, I should not delay you. If you should need my help with your 'situation', you know where to find me. And I will keep your invitation in mind." He stepped aside, giving Hēi enough room to pass by.

"Come on sister, there is no time to waste." Bái waited for her sister to reach her and then motioned for her to leave first. If Drako had a change of heart, she wanted to be the one closest to him.

They exited the cave, moving swiftly through the forest, back towards their home. When she thought they were a safe enough distance from Drako's cave, Hēi stopped and said, "Thank you sister. You have once again delivered me from possible danger. How did you know where I was?"

"You are welcome, and you can thank Toto for bringing me to your rescue this time. It seems he decided to follow you this morning, and when he saw what happened, he headed straight back to me." Speaking of her familiar, Bái looked around and didn't see her little bobcat anywhere. "Toto! Are you hiding again?" There was a rustle in the underbrush, and then a small nose appeared, followed by two eyes and ears. "Come here Toto. I believe someone has something they wish to say to you."

Hēi walked over to her sisters friend and lowered her head down to the bobcats level. "I owe you my thanks Toto. Feel free to follow me anytime you wish." She turned back to her sister and said, "Let's go home. I've had enough adventure for one day."

Who are we?

Black Twin's Name: Dimitra
Meaning: Follower of Demeter, Greek
Owner: Dragonrider Flar
Personality: introvert, shy

White Twin's Name: Dimona
Meaning: South, Hebrew
Owner: Gold Dragonrider Menolly
Personality: Extrovert, decisive

Prompt: Dimona is trying to get her sister to enter a hole in the ground in search of treasure.

RP:
Menolly: "Come on Dimi, you're the smaller of us, and you'll fit into the hole easier than me." Dimona knew that it wasn't exactly true, but she was going to get her sister into that hole no matter what lies she had to tell.

Flar: Dimitra looked at the hole in the ground again and shook her head. "No! It's dark down there, and you know I don't like dark places. I don't care how much treasure might be down there. And I'm not that much smaller than you. You crawl in there if you want treasure." Dimi was determined not to let her sister coerce her into that hole, if it was the last thing she ever did.

Menolly: Dimona was going to have to take another tact with her sister. "Dimi, just think about it. With the treasure we find down there, you won't have to socialize with other dragons, ever! You'll have everything you could ever want, or need, and you can just curl up on your hoard of treasure, in a nice quiet cave somewhere, and never have to speak to anyone, ever again. Wouldn't that be nice?"

Flar: Dimi took a moment to think about that. Dimona was right that she didn't like mixing with anyone other than her own family, and since their parents were gone, Dimona was the only family Dimi had. Never having to socialize with others was a very tempting idea, and she supposed having enough treasure to comfort her solitary days might be worth a trip into a deep, dark hole in the ground. "Do you really think there is treasure down there? You're not just saying that to get me into the hole, are you?" It wouldn't be the first time her sister had tricked her into doing something she didn't like doing.

Menolly: "Yes, I do! You know how I can smell out things, and I smell crystal shards in that hole. All we have to do is go down there and bring them out. If we don't do it, someone else is going to find this hole and get them first."

Flar: She thought about it some more, as her sister paced back and forth in the grass, flattening it down into a smooth carpet of green. "Alright, I'll do it, but if I find anything down there, I get first choice of the treasure since I'm the one crawling down there." She didn't particularly like holes in the ground, but the thought of treasure was enough to squelch her fears for the moment.

Menolly: "Sure, that's fair. Now hurry, before someone comes and tries to get in before us." She kept an eye out for intruders as Dimi disappeared head first into the hole. "Can you see anything?"

Flar: She entered the hole, and then heard her sister's question. "Of course not silly," she called out. "It's pitch black in here. And, it's damp and cold." She continued to crawl forward, sniffing the air with her nose, searching for any sign that the hole might be inhabited by some other creature. There was always the chance that some smaller dragon was using it to hoard its own treasure. As she got further in, she could sense that the tunnel was widening out, and suddenly she was able to stand up on her feet. She stretched her muscles, which had started to get cramped from crawling, and as her eyes adjusted to the darkness, she noticed a strange glow emanating around her. Were those crystals? She walked toward the light and saw that she had not been wrong. Crystal shards were growing from the sides of the walls. She turned around and went back to the narrow opening of the tunnel. "Dimona! I found shards! Lots of them! I'm going to need help getting them out. You'd better come down here and help me. I can't bring them all up by myself."

Menolly: Dimona heard her sisters acclimation and wasted no time fitting her body into the hole. In no time at all, she was standing along side Dimi in the glow of the cave. It was obvious that these shards did not belong to another dragon, but were growing naturally in this cave. "Good job Dimi! Have you picked out the ones you want yet? I promised you would get first pick."

Flar: While she waited for her sister to arrive, Dimi surveyed all of the crystals, and decided which ones she wanted for herself. When Demona arrived, it became quite apparent that it was going to be difficult for both of them to move around easily. "Yes, I have. I'll get the ones I want, and then you can choose from those left over. Once I've got mine, I'll head back into the tunnel, and you'll have more room to move around."

Menolly: Dimona agreed that it was a good plan, and she waited patiently for Dimi to gather her choice of shards. This had all turned out exactly as she had hoped it would, when she had found the hole the day before. For a while there, she wasn't sure she would be able to convince her sister to help her, but everything had worked out perfectly. After Dimi moved back into the tunnel, she gathered a good number of shards, holding them in her mouth, and began the long crawl back to the surface, and to their home.
