"Tell him to hurry I need it now!" The bronze demanded, a thunder crack through his poor riders skull.

Calm down for a minute ya great lump, I'm seeing to it.
Ra'jon promised his dragon, long suffering affection in his tone despite the crude nicknames he gave the bronze. Of course he adored his partner. Ulfriskth was part of him, but sometimes that part of him gave him a headache. But he could sympathise, he could feel the large dragons discomfort and even now he could see him wriggling and trying to rub himself in his minds eyes.

Ra'jon was never the brightest mark in the pot but he has a good head for directions and he found the healers room fairly quickly, since it was a new weyr dragon healers and normal healers seemed to be houses in the same area and since they looked after the new weyrlings he figured they would have what he wanted, or at least know where to find it.

He pushed the door open and stepped inside, glanced around and then knocked on the wrong side of the door. "Anyone here?"

The reception desk usually manned (or womaned) an apprentice or journeyman bent over their papers, waiting to attend to visitors or patients who walked in. Today this was not the case. All of the apprentices were off on a field trip, the journeymen were making trips around the wards, and this left a master at the desk bent over his heaps of paperwork. As such the reception desk also held a large mug, and a sealed pot beside it to top it up when it ran out of klah.

As the door opened the healer straightened in his seat, sharp blue eyes flicking up and down the unfamiliar figure who entered. Watch rider, one of those who had come with the new gold. Bronze rider. Well the last one had been alright, no need to instantly condemn this one. "Can I help you?" the healer asked, looking over his small round reading glasses with the air of a very busy professional disturbed by trivial matters such as somebody telling him he ought to go and eat something. In this instance he suspected that the boy - boy? The rider couldn't be more than ten years younger than he was, it was a bad habit to think of people like that as a matter of course - wanted him to answer more questions.

Ra'jon really didn't look in any way a boy, it was hard not to notice the beard (for it was glorious) not to mention someone looked like they had taken various industrial tools to his face over the years, his nose crocked from multiple breaks and half an ear missing to name the most obvious scars. He was momentarily surprised to see someone wearing masters knots at the front desk but they did tend to do a few things strangely in this place.

"Ask him, If he is a master he'll know."

"I know, hold your runners, I'm asking." He answered the dragon aloud a sure sign of his mounting frustration, "ah sorry to bother you while ya working but do you know where I can find some dragon oil. I've gone through my own supply in double time and Ulfriskth is going crazy. I think its the change in climes drying out his hide, this whole place still puts my head in a bit of a spin and I didn't know where else to ask." he admitted before letting out a gruff laugh for no particular reason. He did that sometimes.

"Oh, is that all?" Looking and sounding mildly relieved the healer pushed himself to his feet, rolled his left shoulder with a mild grimace and nodded. "I can give you some out of our stores down here for now, and directions to the main store. Might do your Ulfriskth good to have something a bit medicated anyway... any pre-existing hide complaints, general health issues? It's Master Bereck by the way, and you are?" That last piece of information and question were a bit of an afterthought, a politeness that sometimes slipped his mind. Still, at least it was an easy request to fulfill, not too time consuming but giving him a chance to get up and stretch his legs. On the way down the wards he could grab Garrom or Lir and get them to watch the desk while he was occupied.

Ra'jon laughed again at the Masters visible and obvious relief. "Yes, that's all Bereck." He promised "The other watch riders been drilling you about recent events I suppose. Don't worry, we were just brought along for the extra muscle" In other words he left the interviews to the other riders "And that would be great, I'm getting tired of the constant moan in my ear.

"I'm not moaning. I am telling, and tell him that I am not some sickly little dragon like they have here. I do not need a healer" the bronze protested, of course he was eavesdropping on the whole thing. Plus he was the very best dragon out there so that he would be anyway flawed physically was not possible.

Ra'jon rolled his eyes "Don't start Ulfriskth ya dimglow, if I can get something that'll keep your hide in better condition longer I'm going to take him up on it." Recently he felt he was only just finishing the task of oiling the beast before he had to start at the other end again. He could hear Ulfriskth rumbling his displeasure but he quietened down long enough for Ra'jon to refocus on his conversation with the healer.

"Well, he's always been an active dragon, more active than most of the other large colours he's been getting flaking skin round his wing and shoulder joints since we've been here but the oiling seems to calm it down and even get rid of it for a while, if ya have time to come and check on it though it would be handy to have another eye on it." Ra'jon explained though he wasn't overly concerned about it, it didn't have any negative effects on his dragon apart from itching more and needing the extra oil.

((Sorry for the delay!))

Bereck made a 'tsk' noise and nodded. "Yes, I spoke to J'ca," he replied, "decent enough sort at least. I was expecting more arrogance." What he wanted to know now though was what conclusions were being drawn, and what would happen because of that.

"I'll take a look," he went on with a small nod, "won't take a moment to run an eye over. In here." Bereck pushed open a door off to their left and stepped into the small storeroom it turned out to be. Several ranks or large terracotta amphorae rested on racks against one wall. Each one had several marks on it to indicate oil type, additives, its origin, date produced and in several cases the date it had been opened. Bereck moved along to a group of the large containers around the middle of the row, grabbing a little trolled type affair from an alcove as he passed it.

"Help me move this onto the trolley," he instructed with a glance to his companion, tapping the amphora he had selected. "This one's about two thirds empty so it's not too heavy but it's less awkward to lift with two. It's a standard oil type with added aloe for soothing, by my best guess this will do fine but if it turns out Ulfriskth needs something else we can come back for it." For a smaller dragon he would probably just have filled a pail with the oil but for a bronze, apparently a very itchy one, he suspected quite a lot of oil was going to be required.

Ra'jon gave a snort of aknowlagment "Ah, decent enough guy I guess, the watchrider higher ups might have stick shoved so far up their arses they are coughing up splinters but at least they have sense enough to send a wingleader that isn't likely to piss off the locals." In other words somewhat that wasn't going to try and throw their weight around to strongly to early.

He followed the healer into the store room letting out a low whistle at the sight of all the jars. It was very similar to his old weyrs that he had worked in, just a hell of a lot more organised. It brought back memories of his weyrling days fetching oil for his rapidly growing dragon in his little pail, he could have lost himself in nostalgia right then and there but Ulfriskth was still complaining in the back of his head and keeping him on task.

"Alright then, on my count." he told the healer rubbing his hands together vigorously before he took his spot on one side of the large container. "Three two, one and lift." he bellowed before hauling the jar onto the trolley, the healer was right it was lighter than it looked but still easier with two. "I'll lead the way then." he announced grabbing the trolley handle "My weyr's not to far from here I'll have Ulfriskth meet us there."
Now the oil was on wheels it was easy to haul back down the long hallways and Ra'jon kept a brisk pace despite the burden. "But you know, talking about leaders I've been getting the impression that ya weyrleader is more slippery than a tunnel snakes a*****e and less well liked." he mused as he continued towards the rider dwellings.
