✩ Guild Workshop Planning ✩
Comprehensive how-to's and support So, it has been mentioned a few times lately that it would be cool to host workshops. This would be great for our movement, since part of our mission is to educate people on how to make better guilds so they won't fall into ruin in the future and eventually become abandoned by the owners.------So far some things we could include in workshops are: Starting a guild Bringing guilds out of inactivity Advertising and finding more members Choosing crew members Guild themes Hosting events and other activities Resolving crew conflicts

Workshop Shematics LengthWe could probably host these in our guild for a few days, each day having a different sub-topic under a larger topic. For example, if we wanted to talk about 'How to start your guild.' we could have a day dedicated to 'Choosing a Theme', a day for 'Buying used vs. Buying New', a day for 'Setting it up', and so on.FormatWe could probably host these in an event forum like we would for holiday events, but of course we could try different things for workshops. It would be good to write guides for these topics for people to access at any time as well, as a supplement to workshops. For this we'd have to have many experienced people to help us write the best guides.IdeasOnce we get some people interested in running these, I'll tack up ideas for hosting our first workshop here. Should we start in order of how a guild is set up or choose a hot topic (Many people are having trouble with inactivity) first?| Intro | Schematics | ... |

Open!
So, there was a lot of discussion about workshops in the Guild Pride Week HQ thread that I would like to continue here. I did like the idea of having a class-like environment. Wouldn't it be fun to make these like a lesson?

I think they should be group discussion style. They're more involved that way and interactive. Plus people in school might not want more and those of us out of school are perfectly happy not to have lessons anymore. Lol.

Just wanted to toss in my two cents here about workshops - love the idea!
In light of good intentions, more guild establishments that are serious or dedicated in keeping an active and ongoing guild for everyone should get some informal/formal training or insight on how to host events and structure their guild for an active community.
The idea of guilds coming together and hosting events together is also great. Splendid Guild Pride Week this year! Look forward to seeing a trend in the future.

Workshops seem like a fun and informative idea! I've always enjoyed listening to panels and discussions at anime conventions!
