[still workin' on this, gonna get approval when it's more done]
Name: Yasir Harvey
Age: Early 30s
Nation of Origin: Born in Sunderland but is of mixed descent with one Caucasian parent and one middle-eastern parent.
Occupation: Traveling merchant and businessman.
Appearance: Yasir is a tall man, broad-shouldered but on the thin side. A tea-and-cream complexion betrays his mixed heritage; not white enough for polite company but 'good enough' to be excused from the more obvious cruelty of ingrained racism. His eyes and hair are both reddish brown, with the latter almost always pulled back into a wavy queue. The color is made redder with the liberal application of tinted, perfumed pomade. He is a handsome man, no doubt, but dark circles perpetually lurk under his eyes. Predatory features and a sharp eye are softened somewhat by his mother’s heavy eyelashes.
As a merchant importing exotic goods from an exotic land, and he takes great care in dressing the part. His wardrobe, filled with richly dyed fabric and imported buttons, borders on the flamboyant. It's partially his taste, it's true, but it’s also partially him meeting an ugly and unspoken expectation that a foreign-looking man will wear foreign-looking clothes.
Personality: Outwardly charismatic and charming, inwardly bitter and world-weary. His occupation requires him to meet and impress, form and maintain numerous social connections and find his way into new markets for goods and spices from the East; perhaps it’s a poor fit for a man who by and large hates people. Nonetheless, he’s good at what he does.
Despite being immersed in people, Yasir has few friends. He politely but forcefully pushes people out of his life when they get closer than what a professional relationship would deem appropriate. His external persona has been largely dictated by conforming to stereotypes in order to be successful; his inner private life, as small as it is, is something sacred to him.
While he gives off the appearance of being fabulously well-to-do, he prefers to live simply.
