It's the closest city of considerable size, so I can't help but feel a rather acute distress about what has happened. My big brother lives in Boston but was nowhere near the explosions, I've heard from everyone else I know who lives in the area, so I am not panicking at the moment. This of course does not change the fact that people died.
I am of course worrying about who will make this a political thing and how they will do it. My tumblr wall is full of people panicking and people telling each other not to panic. How are you guys dealing with it?

IT's truly unfortunate that yet again an act of terror such as this occurs within the US. I'm not going to dwell on it. I didn't dwell on the Sandy Hook incident either. But this time there's going to be less "Make xxxx illegal" and the protests against it because bomb manufacturing is absolutely illegal and won't change any time soon.
It's a tragedy but like Sandy Hook people will continue to push forward, that's the only thing we can do.

I watched this unfold while eating lunch at a restaurant. The average consensus was "what the heck?" and "wait, what?".
Glad to know everyone you know up there is doing okay. But man, I feel for the people who lost something or someone from those bombs. I'm morbidly curious what the government is going to milk out of this terrible event. Sandy Hook and Aurora was gun control and mental health, and the WTC was the handsy TSA. Maybe they'll make up "gateway weapons". With maryjane getting approved, we gotta come up with a new ridiculous "gateway" thing to demonize.
Just gotta keep on keepin' on though.

Well, I hear Westboro Baptist Church are being their usual charming selves but that's nothing new. Just picketing more funerals and lacking respect for the dead.

I like to believe WBC is a joke that got out of hand, like the colorless color gang in Durarara.
