June, 1866 Maybelle Plantation, Georgia He was a Union officer, sent to Maybelle to ensure the cotton plantation was adhering to the new anti-slavery laws. However, he had never expected the plantation owner's daughter to be so fiesty or intriguing.
She was his loyal sister. With their parents dead, she had no one else in the world and followed her beloved brother to the south. But, she never expected to find a scarred Southern son so handsome.
He was a Confederate soldier, wounded in battle and honorably discharged just before the end of the war. The son of the plantation owner, he had always expected to rule over the plantation one day, but he never considered a Federal lackey breathing down his neck as well as his father. Nor had he expected said lackey's sister to be so beautiful.
She was the epitome of a Southern Belle but the idea of a Federal soldier telling them what to do has all of her etiquette training fraying before he even arrives. And yet... she can't help but wonder if there is more to him than meets the eye. Will love blossom between these two couples or
will the deep-seated grudges and political differences
of the people around them drive them apart?

-Keep the swearing to a minimum. There are other appropriate words in existance.
-Try to keep within the historical and cultural contexts, mainly technology and social morals and expectations.
-Message me with all join requests. Do NOT just hop in and post.
-When you message me with your request to join, use the title 'Can it really work?'
-Be active. Don't join if you're only going to be on once a week. And do not, for the love of all things good and decent in this world, post twice and then vanish. If you must quit the roleplay for any reason, tell me.
-Use OOC: or (( these )) when speaking out of character.
-Do not be rude, crude or otherwise impolite or inappropriate when speaking to your fellow roleplayers.
-Don't join if you're not literate. I mean it. Don't even continue looking at this page if you feel the impulse to use *these* for actions, text speech or other things associate with anything less than literacy. That means using "quotes" for speech, italics for thought and proper grammar. Also, ensure your posts are substantial. I understand writer's block but no less than two paragraphs.
-I will add rules as I see fit. Please don't make me feel like I need to add more rules.
