Grinning with all his sharp little teeth, Gunnar accepted the offered clams. "Yum!" He used his nimble fingers to easily pry the shells apart and sucked the soft meat down. He also helped himself to one of Evelyn's fish, easily tearing through the scales.
Evelyn handed a fish to Gunnar, and then one to Mortimer. "Enjoy!" she chirped, taking a big bite of her own fish. The tip of her long tail twitched lazily, partially letting the sandy ground support her while she ate. "This nice, yeah? We should do this more!"

Mortimer ate some more clams after accepting the fish from Evelyn. He looked at the fish for a moment. He wasn't too sure about eating it with the head still attached, he was strange like that. But he had no way to detach the head at the moment so he'd have to deal with it being on. He tore into the fish, spitting out bones but eating everything else. He nodded at what Evelyn said. It was nice, he supposed, and they certainly could do this again. Maybe next time they could have more of a variety in the food.

**time skip~**
It had been some time since that little picnic, and Gunnar was now a large and strong teenager. Still, he often acted as though he was still a child.
He laughed as he chased around his friend Evelyn, his streamline body streaking through the water. His hand reached out and he tapped her wing. "You're it!" he shouted before zooming off in another direction.
The flat body of the manta cut easily through the heavy water of the deep, but Evelyn, much like a child herself, was no match for the power of the angler. "Oy! Come back here!" she called with a laugh as she pumped her large wings to 'fly' through the water after her target.

Mortimer watched as the teen Gunnar and adult Evelyn played. He wasn't one for playing like that so he tended to watch when they played. He sighed as Gunnar continued to break away from Evelyn. With a shake of his head he swam down to the bottom to see if there was anything to find there. The deep water crevasse where he had found Gunnar as an egg was nearby so he made sure to keep away from it.
