Background Story:

Edmond tried to be the perfect child growing up. His family was rich and well known so he had to be good in public view. Edmond worked to get better grades and buy better gifts then his brothers and sister. Finally his parents chose to take them on a trip to china as a reward. They went by plane and for a while it seemed calm, but the engines gave out. The plane did a nose dive onto a small island, he and his family were in first class, that was always the first place hit. His parents were killed on impact and his siblings later died of wounds. He was the only survivor. A 16 year old boy trapped on an island. For three years he struggled to survive, no search planes came, no boats. He simply hunted the animals and drank water from the planes emergency supply kit. It lasted a week. He found a river and used that for water.
On the island he was alone, with no help coming and no family. That was where he learned that being the poster child was not any way to live. It did not teach you how to survive, it did not help you in hard times, it did not mean people would come to save you. You had to save yourself. In that despair and void of hopelessness he promised himself that he would survive and he would create a world free of the despair he felt. So he waited, for a whole three years until finally a fishing boat docked on the island. The fishermen found him, and took him back to civilization.
Edmond had been lucky that the fishermen arrived when they did. He did not know it but given a few more months his spirit would have broken and he would never have become a vigilante. Anyways, Edmond returned to the mainland and immediately began traveling. He went to far away places to learn the skills he needed for his plans. The public did not ever find out about his survival. To the rest of the world the Dantes family died in the plane crash and Edmond Dantes is just a man with a similar name. After about ten years Edmond had mastered the skills he needed and his work began. The Count was born. He took the alias from a book he had read as a child because it oddly mirrored his name. The first year was rough and he faced many hardships. Even though he had the skills he did not have the know all to avoid the police. That was a mistake he did not make again. A few years later Edmond became a lawyer, the Count had seemingly vanished, and for some time it staid that way. Something had caused him to give up the life of a crime fighter, but his job pulled him back in. All the injustice he saw made him realize he was still needed. No other heroes focused on the small things like him, and so the Count returned, and he has not left since.
