Months in the past:The blue-violet dragon egg rolled effortlessly over Muscaria's hands, slowly edging along her forearm, traversing the back of her knuckles, and finally coming to a rest balanced impossibly on the point of a single finger. That is, it would be impossible if one did not know of her skill in matter manipulation as Kar'Nish did. He watched intently from the shadows of the marshy reeds as his guardian perched haphazardly on a half-felled tree. She considered the egg thoughtfully, although not quite with the intensity reserved for a lump of iron bent into a functional shape, or even a piece of ore as she picked out the veins of precious metals. Mu knew he was there, as she was aware of all things within her sphere of influence, although his tendency to fidget did rather give him away. Thin tubules of water had been coaxed into the air and were currently twining through a series of complicated knots, rising in a disjointed latticework curtain halfway to the tree canopy. Mu withdrew her hand, breaking the illusion of balance and allowing the egg to descend in a slow levitation to the surface of the water where it was met by another hesitantly extended network of water tubules.
"Kar'Nish." She murmered his name softly, with a barely perceptible hint of fondness. Then, almost as an afterthought, she asked, "Would you like to meet my newest charge?"
A faint knocking sound could be heard from within the egg. Spiderweb cracks began to appear over the shell. Kar'Nish shivered uneasily, and all of the watery lattices collapsed with the sound of a sudden rain-shower.

Present day:She wouldn't leave well enough alone and GO AWAY.
Kar'Nish bared his teeth in a grimace, directed towards NO ONE in particular, as he skulked moodily and wove around the trees. He could hear her behind him, her shoulders clumsily catching on the edges of the tree-trunks, and shuddered to think of the damage being done - the sheer disorder. His guardian's OTHER dragon charges all understood that he was not to be bothered for stupid questions or "conversation" or sparring practice (and he hadn't even needed to threaten THEM with maiming, as he had with the young one currently tailing him. Repeatedly). She was either very dense or very reckless....like it was all just a silly game!
Noisy brute. Kar'Nish thought savagely upon hearing a particularly loud crash in the distance. He could feel the ground shaking. Can lose her in the water. Not far. And this time, he was done with this annoying game. He made a feverish promise to avoid whatever CLINGY WRIGGLERS his guardian brought home next time.

Tak'Hiss was not a wriggler any more, not since her last growth spurt. She was reminded of this as her sides continually scraped into things, slowing her movement. In a fit of pique, she snarled and nudged a tree touching her side with telekinetic force. It must have had at least 100 years growth, yet the trunk broke cleanly with a sharp and satisfying crack and to swung out far to the side as its upper branches came crashing down. She didn't have the level of strength and control needed to manipulate objects by sight alone, as her guardian and Kar'Nish had done countless times, but could still pull off a few useful tricks. Like making a projectile out of any solid object, as long as she could physically touch it.
On the subject of Kar'Nish....Tak'Hiss was currently trailing the older dragon. After all, he was the only dragon she knew outside of her family, and the only one with the same guardian. Which made him the only fair target. She grinned with vicious delight. That guy makes big threats and a gives a showy fight, but, damn, he wouldn't dare let me be really hurt. No way Lady Muscaria let's that happen she thought confidently.

Kar'Nish stood at the edge of the cliff-side and inhaled deeply the salt-and-algae smell of the ocean. He'd left the tree-line far behind at this point, and the blue expanse of water stretched shimmering far into the distance, a welcome sight after many months spent inland. Much of his long life had been spent mapping every inch of the coastline, and so he knew it well. For a few moments, he allowed the tension in his muscles to drain as the distant sounds from the forest were overshadowed by the soothing sound of waves rolling into the sheer rock walls far below.
Of course, the peace and quiet was not to last for very long. Kar'Nish's ear as the sound of heavy breathing alerted him to the presence of his pursuer. He clenched his jaw together tightly in annoyance, before turning with a sigh to face Tak'Hiss, catching her eyes in a level gaze. "Going out to the ocean now. If you try to follow...I can't promise you'll survive what happens next. Goodbye, Tak'Hiss," Kar'Nish spoke quietly and expressionlessly with the certainty of stating a fact. He'd done everything that he could to send the message non-violently, and if she understood that then she'd be a fool to continue the chase. With a swift motion, Kar'Nish lept over the side of the cliff in a graceful arc, twisting his body to aim his dive into the deeper waters beyond the shallow rock falls at the base of the cliff.
