Shaking her head, Twinkleshine solemnly agreed with him. "It's never a good idea to get on the bad side of authority, especially the head. Even Princess Celestia can have a temper if provoked with the right situation." Following his gaze to Sparrow, she waved lightly at the bird. "Hello there Sparrow~?" Looking again to Atlantis, she shrugged. "I've just been giving her milk and oats, but she didn't seem satisfied with that. I dunno what she can, or is supposed to, eat..."Staring intently at the piece of meat he held, Sparrow came closer to Atlantis. As she felt she was close enough, she jumped up, her gummy mouth trying to bite at the meat in his hand.

Atlantis blinked at the little bird, thinking that the warm meat may be a little better for the baby then a piece of cold orange or banana "I...I did good? O_o" he said as he offered the baby the meat strips "I thought warm food instead of cold food may be a little better for it but apparently it likes it? What IS this thing!?" He asked rhetorically. "I know, not sure, but it seems a little strange that we have this little bird thing and yet know nothing about it, do babies on land usually eat meat? Does thing actually HAVE a biological mother? That party just handed you trouble in more ways then one" he said as he gave the cutie a little more food.
"Don't get me wrong, I am not hating on the little thing, it is cute but still I would like to know where exactly it came from and what not, having this randomly on the island just seems strange thats all" he said with a little sigh "and milk and oats may now seem to be a thing of the past, know any good hunters?" He asked as he looked t the chick "and no, I agree, getting on the bad side of authority isn't good though in my case I am not sure what my Queen is like, never actually met her even just in passing, it would be nice to know what she is like though" he said, usually just sticking with his day to day life down there but now that they were speaking of authority figures he did wonder what his Queen was like.

Sparrow cooed as the meat was closer, wiggling her tail feathers before pouncing at it, grabbing it from Atlantis's fingers. She grinned as she tried to gnaw on the relatively-large piece, her gums unable to make any progress on breaking down the meat and saliva starting to run down her chin in her vain attempt. Furrowing her eyebrows, her little wings flapped as she tried to chew it.
"Yeah, guess she's more of a meat-eater after all. Who knew?" Noticing the bird's difficulty, Twinkleshine stood from her seat and stood up, moving to take the piece from her mouth. Grimacing at the slimy texture of it, and the feeling of Sparrow's gums against her fingers as she tried to protest, she moved to the table and found a cleaner 'plate' to shred the meat into smaller pieces. As she did so, she commented back, "I dunno what she is; even Rais seemed really confused and said he'd never seen such a pae. Our children feed mostly on milk and softer grains, which is why I was feeding her the oats, but I'm dunno if other types eat other things. Clearly she does." Having shredded it all, she set the plate down in front of Sparrow before moving back to her seat.
"Yeah, I wish I knew what she actually was, and if she had an actual mother. As much as I'd like to keep her... I wouldn't want to keep her separated if someone else was searching for her." She took one of the pieces of meat from her plate, eating it herself and musing over his question quietly before swallowing. "Do you think Tafari could help us? We could trade; I'd grab supplies like flour, grains, and whatever other materials he and Lust would need when I make my trips to the tree, and he could give us pieces of meat for it?" It seemed like a reasonable idea to her.
(Just a reminder, this is before anything happened to Tafari, and even when they rp afterwards, until we have one where Lust or Atlantis gossip to her about him missing, twinkleshine won't have a clue anything has happened to him)

Atlantis smiled at the bird and smiled, letting Twinkle deal with the meat and pushed some over to her "I think it be best if you do it, on the plus side, this stuff hasn't got saliva over it" he said as he patted the little one gently on her head then left her to eat "that, I guess, would be fine, even for normal Pae babies, at least it has some goodness in that but I guess, even at this young age, meat is its preferred choice, I only gave it meat because it was warm, thought it might be a little nice for it then just something cold but, as you said, who knew meat was what it likes. "If Chef Rais didn't know what it is then we are lost, I mean, as part bird you would think someone who deals with the earth and the Tree like he does he would have an idea what this cutie is but even he, I guess, can't know everything" he said with a small sigh, watching the little one eat "I guess one day we may know but till then I guess we just have to take care of it, love it and make sure it stays healthy and safe and hope she isn't a bad creature" he said, not meaning to upset the other with that last comment but they don't know what it is so they didn't know if it would grow up into something bad or not.
I don't blame you, I don't think it would be fair to keep her from the one looking for her either, if it happens that no one does though, I will be happy to help take care of her" he said smiling at her a little "and I am sure he will, I can't see why he wouldn't, he has been kind enough to us so far that I am sure he wouldn't mind" he said, hoping he was right, after all, Tafari was a busy man, he didn't want to bother him but then he was also sure that his daughter could probably talk him into it anyway. "If all else fails, we have Lust to fall back on, knowing her she will have an idea how to talk him around" he said as he picked up a piece of fruit and nibbled at it "but first, we need to find them, I don't know where they are but I guess they can't be too hard to find" he said, wondering where they could start looking, of course it could wait till tomorrow, after she was unpacked and settled but still, an idea at least might be good if at all possible.
"Excuse me" Atlantis said as he got up and ran out of the house and dived straight into the ocean, he had been a little bit long out of the water and had just now remembered he should be in said water before now but he just wanted to make sure everything was perfect for Twinkle that he had just forgotten about it which wasn't good. After he was rehydrated he got out and shook himself off and walked back to the house, making sure the water was off him and walked inside "sorry about that, I was stupid and forgot to make sure I had a dip before you came but ended up wanting to make sure this was perfect for you for when you got here" he said a little sheepishly as he sat down again.((Apologies for the late reply, brain died.))

Twinkleshine shrugged and nodded at his statement. If the chief didn't know what Sparrow was, who would? "Yeah, guess that's all we can hope for. Can't say that I know how to raise a kid, so I'm sure her real mother would be much better at it." Pausing, she returned the smile, nodding. "He really is." Grinning, she leaned forward, "We should invite him and Lust over for dinner sometime! They would love it, I think. I would enjoy it at least." She moved to lean back how she originally was, crossing her arms. "I managed to find them last time, so I'm sure they can be found again; how hard could it be?"
Tilting her head, she watched as Atlantis moved away from the table, looking to Sparrow and watching her eat as she waited for him to return. The little bird really was adorable... Looking back to him as the door opened, she noted the wet hair. That's right, nai'ads need to go in the water every once in a while. "It's totally okay." She laughed lightly, "We're gonna need to get a pool for you in here or something"(is kay, school be eating me)

"Well, guess what? I have no idea how to raise a child either so between us both we might be able to raise this one together and make sure the cutie turns out alright" he said as he looked the little one over, she was adorable, he couldn't deny that but whatever the future holds for the little one they would face it together, as a family...wait, ARE they a family? He looked the situation over in his mind and dismissed it, maybe he was getting a little ahead of himself, he looked over at Twinkle and smiled at her. "Her real mother may be good at it but till we find her, if we find her we will give her the best home and the best life she could possibly want, we will raise her well" he promised as he sat back a little and watched. Atlantis nodded "yes, you did, perhaps you do have a knack of finding Faun, then again, being one probably does help a little" he said as he ate a little of his own lunch "and I would love to have them around for lunch or dinner, be fun to host a dinner party or something" he said as he started to ponder what to make them.
Atlantis nodded "yes, we do, the house is great but maybe we should of had Tafari and Lust build a room just for for a small pool..." he said as he shook his head "no, this is fine, I don't mind if I have to slip out every so often to go take a dip, I just will have to find something to dry myself with after I get back out" he said as he watched the bird, why did it have to be so cute? Seriously! The more he watched the little one the more he was starting to fall in love with it and he couldn't wait to see what kind of Pae the little one would become.((FINALLY! My brain decides to work for me! XD; Sorry! Brain just didn't want to work for this rp ^^; ))

Smiling, Twinkleshine gave him a thumbs-up. "When we get more settled in and the little chick gets a -bit- older, I'll have a go at finding them," she paused to shrug, "It shouldn't be too, too hard, yeah? Even if they aren't living in the tree."
Placing her hands around one of their makeshift cups, she considered bringing up a different subject, her thoughts on some rumors that had just begun spreading among the fauny community not long before she left. Something about declaring a loyalty to her new home and the earth, and, from this, being blessed by it with a special ability. Would it be like the one she was born with: levitation, or would it be something unique to only her? Maybe Lust or Tafari would be more familiar with the process...
Yes... She would ask them later... But, for now, she was simply content sharing her first meal with someone since they had come to the tree. With this... family of sorts.
Family...?
What a nice, wonderful word to hear again. It seemed so long since she last had contact with her own. Even if they were just roommates helping one another out, it was still something, and, perhaps, one day she would find someone that could just make her heart flutter. Until then, she would enjoy these little moments that had been missing in her life. Nafretiti (I'm cool to end the rp if you are. I'd also be up for starting a new, more recent one with her finding Lust 'n stuff)
