Personality Castalia is a bright, friendly girl; but the type to be a good acquaintance with all but close friends with none. It's not that she's shallow, she just cherishes her 'alone time' to the point that it has caused her to unintentionally cut herself off quite a bit from the community. While she makes sure to greet any friendly faces she encounters, they are only those who are on her route to the Thornwood and back whenever she makes a trip to gather herbs.

The Thornwood is usually where she can be found; gathering herbs, practicing her magic, or just taking a walk and exploring. The rest of her time is spent cooped up in her room, reading dusty old tomes. She is very much a dreamer, and it often takes her much longer than it should to complete the simplest of tasks through her daydreams of running off and having an adventure of some sort. Because of this, she is also rather scatterbrained and it’s not unusual for her to set off to do something, only to completely forget what it was she was doing.

History

Castalia was raised by her parents until the age of four, when her mother set off for Agnhim Swamp. She had been curious to see if the tales of spirits lingering there were true; and despite the protests of her mother and husband, she went to go see for herself… And was never seen again. Several days later, her husband went after her; only to be found the next morning on the edges of the swap, his magical heart consumed.

After the loss of both parents, Castalia was taken in by her grandmother. Beyond being orphaned, she had a rather uneventful childhood; but she compensated with a blend of her own imagination and the tales of the adventures of the heroes of old, fictional and historical alike. To this day she craves for an adventure of her own (especially to venture out into the swap that claimed her parents, and find out what exactly happened to them), but settles for those within thick tomes. She would leave the nest, so to speak, but feels duty-bound to care for her ailing grandmother.

Her grandmother runs an apothecary shop, and used to take her out on trips to the Thornwood to gather herbs. Now, though, she makes these trips by herself as the old woman has become a little too old to go traipsing about the forest herself. Luckily enough, Castalia enjoys venturing out into the woods that have become a second home to her; seeing it as the closest she can get to an adventure- for now, of course.

Relations

Grandmother Sole caretaker, and only person who really knows Castalia. They have a pretty good relationship, though sometimes Castalia wishes that her grandmother wasn't so frail, so that she could feel safe leaving her to seek adventure.
