What is you favorite thing about Easter and why?
PostPosted: Sat Mar 23, 2013 12:57 pm

I love Easter because it is a day that reminds us of what Jesus did for our lives. Whether we have...

-stolen,
-coveted/envied something,
-blasphemed God by taking His name in vain, -went without a day of rest in the week,
-lied,
-murdered (which includes hating someone in your heart),
-committing adultery (that also means looking at someone with lust),
-having idols (spending WAY too much time doing things for our own personal pleasure), -disrespected our parents somewhere in our lives, and
-simply not loving God.

I know that I have messed up on all of these myself and if you have broken one of them, the Bible says you have broken them all.

So, when we get to Judgement Day after we die and come to God, are you innocent or guilty? I know that I am for having broken the ten commandments at different times throughout my life. Finally, that leads to the question of whether or not I would go to hell and for God to be good, righteous, and fair I would have to go to hell for the things I've done.

As for why, lets say you went to court for murdering someone. You can say to the judge, "Your Honor, I admit I did kill him, but I'm usually a good person and do good things and I think you should let me go." In reality, a judge would not let you go because you've been good the rest of your life; it's irrelevant to the crime committed and you will be punished for what you have done.

However, there is good news. Let's go back to the court topic and we'll say that you were fined with $100,000. You don't have any money and can't pay for your fine. But, a man you don't know comes in with a check of $100,000 and says, "Here's the money for the fine. I love this person very much and I want to set them free."

That is what Jesus did for us. He died on a cross for our sins so that we would be set free and will one day dwell in Heaven with God. He paid it all for us and wishes to not call us slaves, but friend. And that is why I love Easter. :3

Yes! I so agree! This is definitely the true meaning of Easter! Not the bunny with the cadbury eggs. Happy Easter and God bless! ^_^

As quoted from that lunatic chocolate psycho guy from spongebob: "CHOCOLATEEE!"

I'm not Christian and I don't celebrate Easter, but I agree with you Alustrial777 smile

Keep spreading peace, love, and kindness everyone! <3
