I know that at least one of you in here is gonna be hurt by this post but I'm tired of living around my parents who smoke and I'm putting my foot down about the reasons I hate it. And for the rest of you in the guild who smoke, perhaps this will open your eyes a little bit to your partner's or love interest's feelings about your smoking if they're not smokers themselves.
#1 I Can't Breathe I can't breathe around people who smoke due to my asthma and allergies. I literally feel like I'm suffocating from the smoke in my lungs. I have a constant wheeze now because of it. The 2 years I didn't live with my family or anyone who smoked I could breath without a wheeze and had myself built up to where I could almost run a mile which is saying something for someone like me. You might not care about the damage it does to you, but I certainly DO care about what it does to ME. I literally haven't had a day where I could breath normally, clearly and powerfully since the day I moved back in with my parents.
NOTE: For the next two posts, they're about smell. I have a very powerful sense of smell so these two kinda mean a lot to me.
#2 You Smell Too, Not Just Them You smell like an ashtray and smoke as bad or worse than they do! I'm always smelling my clothes or hair after I've been around or in a house full of smokers. I'm not a fan of it at all, I literally feel like I'm dirty when I'm around smokers. In other words, it doesn't matter how many times I change and wash my clothes or bathe, I still can smell it. I prefer subtle perfumes/body sprays, deodorants and natural scents, not smelling like an ashtray and have people comment or recoil away from me because of how I smell.
#3 Their Bad Breath You can smell their bad breath when you're near them and if you're dating them or attracted to them it just makes you squirm from the thought of kissing someone who tastes like an ashtray. It don't matter how much you brush your teeth or eat mints guys, I can distinguish the smell.
#4 The Nicotine Fits I really hate when people who smoke get nicci fits around me because it doesn't matter how nice I am to them, they're still gonna flip out and be irritable towards me simply because they're having a craving. Serious guys, cut the habit, no one wants to be around you when you get moodier than a Cancer on a bad day. I should know, my Zodiac sign is Cancer.
#5 Health Risks Smokers expose not just themselves, but those around them to countless uber bad health problems. I'm not interested in developing these health risks just because you don't care about what happens to you, doesn't mean I don't care about what happens to my own body.
In conclusion...these are the reasons, smoking is a huge turn off for me and I want nothing to do with a person after they've lit up around me. Yes I know you just read this and this should explain a lot to you. And you know who you are, person I'm referring to, I'm concerned about you and felt you should know my personal feelings on this.
So for those of you who smoke please take these thoughts and think on them if you are a smoker in this guild. I'm not judging you for your choice, I'm just stating the reasons why I hate being around smokers and expressing my concerns for those you love who are too timid to say anything on the matter.
I hope this has been insightful to you all ladies, ~Shiny~

This ones Parents have always smoked and I have had to sit irregardless of my opinion and endure. I have not asked them to stop due to the one time I had asked and their response was unfavorable.
I apologize that you had to endure such reasons because others smoked in your presence.

It's probably a little late to reply, but I was searching through the posts and saw this. I'm at my father's house... And he's a smoker. It makes it hard to breath and I swear I'm going to get sick because of it. It makes me nauseated and light-headed to be around it. I don't have asthma, but it's like the oxygen doesn't like my lungs right now and it suuucks. At least they got bottled water this time. I friggin hate drinking soda all the time (specifically dr.pepper... Which they usually have nothing but) So... Uh... Yea cat_sweatdrop

My mum quit smoking like 13 years ago, and my dad's been off the cigars for just over a year now. Aw yes.
He just has one of those cool electronic water vapour cigarettes on the weekend with a drink and a NASCAR race since that's the only really major craving time.
I hate cigarettes and their smoke and health risks but those water vapour things are cool as ********.
