Craft/Rank: Former Seacrafter/Guard/ Journeyman Canine Breeder
Appearance:
Jkaita is somewhere between stocky and willowy, with wavy black hair tied up in a loose braid behind a sun-hardened, angular face. Her eyes are a light blue. She usually looks serious or grumpy, less so with her dogs.
She wears her guard uniform, but does own formal wear that she is very proud of. She insists it is better than her sisters.

Good:
Patient
Loyal
Neutral:
Militaristically Minded
Competitive with Sibling... and everybody.
Bad:
Vain
Rude
Easily Envious
Jkaita is a serpentine young lady.
She is patient, waiting for the right time to trike with her sharp tongue. She can wait. You will eventually screw up and she will be able to beat you down with words. Patience, however, is still a virtue of hers.
She has a great grasp of strategy and likes pack tactics whenever she can use them. Manipulation is not her strong suit, however, so she mostly just does what she wants in a social situation.
In addition, politeness is not one of her virtues. She is crass, cruel, and to the point. She doesn't sugar her words, and perhaps she should.
She is very concerned with her appearance. Its not to a ridiculous extent (IE Marue) but she does like to look a certain way and act a certain way.
And of course, these ways of looking and acting must be somehow better than her sister, and if her sister is out of commission, then everybody else. She may not cry over a broken nail and be used to hard work, but faranth forbid if her sister so much as touches her precious brush. Then you have a hissy fit of the ages.
But despite her attitude towards her sister and brother- snippy at best- she loves them, and they know she loves them. She'd never actually betray them, and if they needed help she'd- in theory- be there. When Jamarin was broken over the lost of Suuyeth, she didn't stop haranguing him, this is true... but it was a somewhat misguided attempt to normalize him, to balance his incredible grief. They always harangued him. Suuyeth's death wasn't going to change that. It was a message that things would be all right, that the world hadn't ended. He got the message, and appreciated it, but it wasn't what he needed. She knows that there is a camaraderie in meanness, and a meanness in love.
She is also fond of her dogs. Dog fighting? Not okay. But her mentor was blackmailing her with her involvement so she had to keep breeding dogs for him.
In fact, she hopes she has an excuse to have her pack rip that man to shreds.
She is also a highly covetious individual. If she wants something- praise, a hairpin, your attention, and someone else has it, she will try to get it because, well, she wants it. This usually doesn't work out well because she isn't very good at subtle.
So she mostly just stews in green-eyed envy.
In short, Jkaita is a patient woman who is close to her family, is more than a little acid tongued, and cares about her appearance and what other people have (that she doesn't have)
History:
Jkaita and Jannai were brought up seacrafters. Unlike their brother, they loved the sea, regular little ship brats.
Until they discovered dogs.
They got involved in beastcraft and dog breeding and eventually left the life of the sea for canine breeding.
Their mentor was involved in breeding fighting dogs for the fighting rings that began cropping up, and his two apprentices helped him in that.
Three years ago, the fighting ring was busted and the two, then apprentice and Journeyman canine beastcrafters, managed to escape with their tails intact. They took their dogs and started breeding guard dogs and selling them in the hopes that that would make them less suspicious to the Watch. (18 and 16 respectively)
The biggest market for their dogs was Wardens Weyr, where large, scary dogs were often brought out in patrol. Although initially reluctant to travel so close to where they could be caught, they decided that the whole dog-fighting thing had cooled down anyway. And, also, they had recieved a letter from their brother J'min, who worked there.
They had never much liked their scrawny seasick prankster older brother, but figured that with him around as a guard, the heat would finally be off of them for that incident with the dog fighting.
So they made the move and realized that they quite took to being guards as well as dogcrafters. They were, after all, already ferocious. (19, 17, repectively)
They also proceeded to harass and harangue their brother, not even stopping when his bondmate left him for between.
In the two Turns that Jamarin vanished and was presumably dead, they thrived. Dogs were handy, if not telepathic and intelligent in the way that dragons and whers were, and unbonded (and some bonded) guards found their dogs useful.
They were upset and appalled when Jamarin returned with a wher in tow.
(21, 19)
He lives with them now, and they are disconcerted by the way he seems to just shrug off their comments and snark.
