Once again, Morpheus was bored. The academy had such little amusements in such a wide space! Who would have thought that they wouldn't have a gaming area or a theater club? He would have to organize one, once he had the time. His days always involved wandering the halls of the academy, catching the glances of those who passed by. No one stopped long enough to chat. Barely a soul said hello. What was this world coming to? Surely depression hadn't sucked everyone dry!
"Deck the halls with boughs of holly, fa la la la la la la la la!" He sang, his voice echoing down the seemingly endless hallway. "'Tis the season to be jolly, fa la la la la la la la la!" Silence. "Don we now are gay apparel!" He paused, hoping someone would join him. "Fa la la ... la la la... la... la..." His voice trailed of for a moment as he sighed. "La..."

Wiley was running in the hallways. She knew she wasn't supposed to, but her brother, Ask, told her with a wink to ignore that rule today. And since he saw the future in his dreams, she was quite willing to go for it. Besides, sliding on the floors in socks was way too fun for words.
She heard a christmas carol being sung around the corner and with a gleeful grin she ran full tilt around the corner shouting "Laaaa!" to finish up the line from the song. She started sliding on her socks, but the boy who'd been singing was a lot closer then she anticipated!
She screwed her eyes closed so she wouldn't have to see and feel the mess of the imminent collision. When she didn't feel herself run into the boy she peeked an eye open and found that her somewhat unreliable phasing powers had kicked in and she'd gone right through him. Oh, handy. She giggled.

"Oh holy mother of Christ!" Morpheus cried as Wiley suddenly came zooming down the hallway. He expected to be face down on the ground, but instead found himself leaning backwards and bracing for an impact that never came. Startled, he whipped around to see Wiley still sliding down the hallway behind him. "Oi! How did you...?" He paused, his face lighting up with a grin, and kicked off his shoes. "Wait for me!" He ran a few paces and allowed himself to slide down the hall, only to knock into a vase by the wall. "Aaaooww, perhaps I should have considered my general area before doing this..."

Wiley laughed at his language. "You shouldn't saaay that!" she teased, and then covered her mouth to stifle her giggles when he almost broke a vase. "You need to be more careful!" As if she had any room whatsoever to talk. "You're too big to go sliding willy nilly." Wiley said as she raised her hand to express his height, and then thoughtfully went up on her tippy toes to be more accurate.
She was easier to get a good look at now that she was standing still. She was glowing softly golden light everywhere, and had loose fitting clothing in soft shades of yellow and cream. It looked very comfortable and obviously allowed her free movement. Her sparkly hair was tied back in a low ponytail by a pink ribbon. Her piping voice could have belonged to a boy or a girl, well all of her could really.

Morpheus peered up at Wiley curiously while he gathered his senses again. Adorable child, most likely female, and she glowed like a candle! He rose and let out a chortle before extending his hand to shake hers. "Perhaps I am too big for such a task, but it was far too tempting! How could I not give it a try?" He exclaimed. "I am Morpheus, Morpheus Neilson. What do you call yourself, young lass?"

"Well who could blame you for trying!? It's really fun." She whipped out her hand to shake his vigorously. "I'm Wiley! And you have an awesome name, my festive fellow! That was you singing a christmas carol in here, right?" She bounced where she stood. "Christmas is like my most favorite thing ever."

"Wiley, eh? What a fitting name!" Morpheus quipped, chuckling. He nodded firmly at the mentioning of the caroling and almost joined her in bouncing in place. Another die hard Christmas fan? What a welcome surprise this girl turned out to be! "I consider myself the KING of Christmas celebrations!" He exclaimed, a look of pride forming on his features. "Once, I hosted a Christmas party that had three famous musicians, five courses of food, and all the presents that you could ever fit your fancy! It was the most stupendous Christmas EVER!" He chuckled again and smirked. "But, enough about the past. Let us focus on what is here and now." He paused to glance around, pondering a bit, before looking to Wiley again. "What else is there to do around these halls? I haven't had a wink of fun in months! Care to help me rustle up whatever may be left to spare?"

Wileys eyes widened as she listened to his description of a Christmas past. "That Christmas sounds like it was really really awesome!" She said enthusiastically. "If you're the King of Christmas, can I be the Queen?! I love it soooooooooo much!" she kept dragging the 'o' sound of 'so' out as if she was continuing to ponder just how much she loved the holiday and kept finding more enthusiasm, and therefore more 'O's.
"I don't know what all's around to do either! Usually running in the hallway's a no no. But my older brother told me I should do it today." She looked at him through the corner of her eye and lowered her voice conspiratorially, "He sees the future."

"I don't see why you couldn't!" Morpheus replied. He loved Wiley's enthusiasm just about as much as her loved Christmas, which was saying quite a lot. He found her fascinating and familiar, as if they had more in common than just a love of a holiday. Perhaps they had similar items? Was she another Christmas themed Meta? He couldn't wait to learn more about her!
"Your brother is capable of such wizardry?!" He exclaimed, eyes sparkling with astonishment. "How is that possible? Do tell me, Wiley! What other magics has he mastered?"

She giggled. Ask a wizard. Hilarious! "He's mastered healing arts and the powers of traveling through dimensions. Mom gave him a baseball bat and since neither of them are into sports, he took on the powers of the wood that the bat was made out of. So he's got all sorts of weird powers. He's also and archangel. He's got four wings. I don't know how he coordinates all four to fly, but he can do it."
She realized that she got slightly off topic. "He sees the future when he sleeps. So he's impossible to wake up. And apparently dangerous to try. He punches people in his sleep. But when he's awake he's really really really nice!"

Morpheus was absolutely enthralled by Wiley's description of Ask. You would have thought he were a child stuck in a teenager's body by the way he stood enamored by a simple conversation. His eyes sparkled even further with curiosity when Wiley mentioned that Ask was an Archangel, his mind flashing back to the memory of a small child he had seen fighting in the war.
"Your brother sounds astounding, Wiley!" He exclaimed. "Simple wood can generate such profound abilities in a young man, I would have thought that such a thing could never occur!" He grinned and paused, gazing down to Wiley again. "But, I'm much more curious about you! What is it that you do? What are your abilities, Wiley?"

"Hee! Yeah I don't know how he managed that set of powers either. My item is an antique candle holder. I glow, obviously, I can phase through things 'cause I'm a poltergeist. And I can see into the past, not very far though. The glowing is really annoying when I'm trying to be sneaky. I want to be sneaky. But I'm really not affective." She pouted.
