Mnemo stared incredulously at the Faun. Did she really just say that? "I don't want anything from you, you offered to help me. So I don't care if you trust me. You are related to the Gods that cursed me and my mother and I want nothing to do with you and your lot." And with that, Mnemo disappeared into the water, going just deep enough that she could still see the orange silhouette on the beach to keep track of her.
Mnemo had never dealt with a pae like Lust before and she was scared to death now Lust would curse her like Lethe was cursed. She offended the daughter of a god. Would the repercussions be worse or not as bad as offending a real deity? Oh how she wished Anxo was here. He would know what to do.
After a few minutes, Mnemo surfaced again, several yards further into the water, to see if Lust was still there and doing her God magics or whatever to curse her.

Lust just sat there shocked, looking at her go and alright if she didn't want anything from me then fine but...the Gods cursed her mother?! That was news to her and now she was curious as to find out more whilst also feeling sorry for her mother if that is, of course, what happened "oh" she said as softly as she was surprised the other came back yet still so very scared "y...you came back?" She asked kindly yet softly so as to not scare her away "please, do not be afraid, I had no idea your mother was cursed I swear on my Faun fathers life!" She said as she looked at the poor thing, wishing she could just do something to make her less scared. "And believe me, I am not exactly the happiest with them at the moment myself though I will admit that I did bring it onto myself but I did break a rule I was punished for and I had my power taken away by them...well, one in particular, but i have learnt from it and it has actually made me a better Pae because of it" she said as she took a deep breath and let it out, pausing for a bit before starting again "I promise though, even if I did have my power, I wouldn't be able to do anything to you besides maybe make you feel a little lusty and believe me that isn't exactly all that great a power to have as I have learnt by not having it" she said as she crossed her legs, hoping the other would try to understand her relation with the Gods wasn't exactly a happy one either right now.

Mnemo kept her distance, still leery of the girl. For some unexplained reason, the Naiad couldn't let this go. Every instinct inside her was screaming to just swim away and forget this encounter ever happened. But something inside her told to pry more. Keep poking. Learn something. What can I possibly learn from this girl?
Lust's body language is what Mnemo read most, because she didn't understand most of what the girl said, and right now, it was saying exasperation. Exasperated gods don't curse pae, do they? This girl spoke of powers and breaking rules and having powers taken away. All things foreign to Mnemo. However, the mention of making others feel lusty sparked intrigue. Ever since the Naiad could remember, Lethe told her to stay away from others because she invokes false feelings. But when she became an adult, Lethe was even more adamant about staying away from others and even mentioned the word lusty a few times in addition to 'causing mayhem' and 'why gods, why me?' in the same context.
Sadly, even if she wanted to, Mnemo couldn't understand Lust. But she was intrigued enough to move closer. She'd let the cat out of the bag with the curse already, so in for a penny, in for a pound, right? She moved upon the beach, revealing that she was not a normal Naiad. She lacked the fluid, translucent fins of her kin, instead had tentacle-like fins, including wings of a similar design. Her tail, like all Naiad tails, would dry to become legs, but Mnemo had no experience walking, so she just sat on the beach, vulnerable and praying to the Waters that Lust wasn't going to hurt her. "The gods you are related did this to me. Cursed my mother with an abomination for her transgressions." She wasn't angry as she told Lust her secret. But the pain and loneliness was evident as her voice cracked.

Lust looked at the other as she came out, wishing to mve closer to her, to...I don't know, comfort her? Do something nice to her even if it was just holding her hand? She wasn't sure as the other was so scared but she was, admittedly, shocked at what she saw and as she looked her up and down a couple of times she was speechless. What had her family done to her!? She had heard a few tales from her Aunt about the powers of Gods were really powerful things and she had even witnessed the power herself but this...this was to horrible to wish even on an enemy!
Lust did nothing but look sadly and finally found her voice once more and spoke just two questions softly but loud enough so she could hear "would you mind if I came over and gave you a hug?" She asked, knowing that it was a rather daring question to ask when she was so scared and Lust truly didn't wish to scare her more but right now, if anything, all that girl needed was a hug. "Also, please excuse me for a moment" she said as she got up and went and packed up her lunch and shook the blanket and walked back to where she was and sat down again "...will you will let me place this around you?" She asked softly, hoping she wouldn't think this was some sort of God magical capturing device or something "if you wish to be kept warm or covered up whilst on land this will help."

Mnemo was absolutely crushed at the shame and sadness present on Lust's face when she seen what she really looked like. Lethe was right. She shouldn't be seen in public. But did that mean Anxo was wrong? Or blind at the least. She wasn't beautiful. Without hesitation, when she seen Lust grab a blanket in order to cover up her ugliness, she rolled back into the water. Her legs fusing back together to form her tail. She made sure to keep her face away from the furry girl, to not see the tears.
Mnemo didn't flee. She was seated in the shallow water with her back to Lust now, trying to keep herself from spiraling into a self-hate spiral. It wasn't in her nature to be so emotional, but so much of what was happening with this stranger was triggering it. If Lust was going to net her, let her. She was nothing but someone else's punishment anyway. "I'm not cold," was all she could manage to say as she wiped her cheek. This was the first time she felt tears on her cheeks.

Lust stopped and sighed, watching he go to the shallows and dropping the blanket she decided to say nothing more or even look like she was before but instead her fathers words sounded in her head, words about how to sneak up on a target when you wish to make sure how to kill said animal...alright, not the wisest of words to go by in this case, she wasn't treating this girl as some sort of animal, his words just made sense to Lust to use them now in this situation. Lust carefully and quietly stilled her breathing a little and walked up to the other slowly and carefully so the other couldn't sense she was there and, when she got closer to the girl she reached out and placed one hand on her shoulder.
"Please! Don't be scared" She said as she softly as she stood her ground and then knelt behind her and placed both arms around her shoulders and rested her arms on her neck and just hugged her "shhh it's alright, I am not here to hurt you, I just want to be friends thats all" she said, hoping the other would calm a little whilst in her embrace and since she posed no threat to her she hoped she would come to understand that not all members of the 'God Family' were complete and utter assholes.

The physical contact was not what Mnemo expected. She froze, expecting Lust to strangle her or do something equally as awful. Mnemo just wasn't a physical touch type Pae. She closed her eyes tight and listened to Lust's words. They were completely innocent and friendly, but the only thoughts racing in the Naiad's head were twisted and evil versions of what Lust was saying. "I'm not going to hurt you, I just want to be friends," is scary when combined with an imaginary sneer in the mind of a terrified young Naiad.
"Why do you want to be friends with me?" Mnemo managed to stutter out as she shook under Lust's embrace.
((Mnemo's not used to physical touch, because her mom never hugged her growing up, so she finds it a suspicious thing to do.))

((Poor girl! >_< )) "Why do I want too be your friend?" She asked curiously before moving around to face her, showing her that her words meant nothing but kindness, truth and friendliness "I want to be your friend because I actually would like to get to know you, the REAL you! I am not wanting to judge you, I am not wanting to laugh at you, I don't even see you as a monster, I see you as a unique individual and one who I would love to know if she would only give me the chance" she said smiling a little at the other. "I have one female friend and two male friends one of which I actually like more then a friend so I don't have many friends so being that you are a girl I would love to get to know you, I need more friends and I would be honored to be able to call you a friend."
Lust sat back in the shallows and watched her "I dn't know why you are so scared and I don't know if I can help you fix that but what I do know is that I want to just be able to do the things friends should do together, thats all, I would like, if at all possible, to help you over come your fear but to do that I will need to be your friend first so you can see that you can trust me. I understand if it is too hard for you so if you still wish to have me leave you alone I will but the offer to be your friend will always be there, I just want another friend, thats all, after being the teenager I was I now need to get friends who are just that, friends and I think you would make an awesome one" she said, hoping the other understood what she was saying and that she didn't have to be scared around her, if there was one thing her father taught her it was that friendships were important and if you got on together then who cares what either of you looked liked.
