Let's leave yiff out of this because that's a touchy subject.
I guess for me it would have to be the fact that canines tend to be the most popular phenotype. I know that there are lots of cat furries and whatnot out there, but in general, all other species tend to not be nearly as popular. I don't understand how canines became so big. neutral but that's just me.

I can make a philosophical answer for you for that one.
Canines are normally natural pack animals. If there's one, there's more nearby. (i.e. wolves, dogs, coyotes)
And, being in this guild, or being in any other group of furs, we are united as a 'pack' if you will. We communicate, we help each other and we enjoy the company of each other.
So, naturally, we'd want to associate ourselves as such in order to stay as a group.

I normally jump species from time to time just to keep things interesting. (My main fursona is a wolf, though.)
The only thing that irks me is... well... I hardly ever get to go to cons or rave anymore. TwT

From my experience, furries tend to be rather.. Eccentric, to say the least. It's not a bad thing but it certainly takes some getting used to when you first meet some IRL.

Actually, feral cats are actually pack animals, living together in large clusters. So I guess people just love dogs more. TwT
I'd say the eccentricity of some furries is what gets me. Some just go too far with it, although I'd never say they should stop because I still believe anyone can be whatever they want :3

But the animals I associate with tend to be more non-mammalian. Frogs, snakes, komodo dragons, crocodiles, octopuses, lizards, and when I was a kid monkies and raptors. Your description seems intuitive I guess. I don't feel like being in a pack in general lol, right now at least.

I'm not really a furry myself,I'm a dire wolf therian,and no I didn't choose that.
But on topic,I'm usually irked by how overly dramatic most of the fandom tends to be.Many furries I've met tend to have a huge persecution complex as well,so I usually don't tend to associate with them much.I just don't feel like dealing with that kind of thing.

What irks me is that most peeps I rp with are all foxes. I'm sick of the abundance of foxes. C'mon try something else like... An otter. Otters are kewl

Otters are kewl I think people like them because they're like a midpoint between cats and dogs. Would you say foxes other than reds count as overdone? Fennecs in particular.
