Everything had happened so fast, at least faster then Louise had ever-expected. She was old-fashioned like that, there was a certain order to things: you courted, you married, you had babies. Louise and Tariq's courting had in all honesty been incredibly short and before she knew it she was pregnant. Marriage had been skipped, but it wasn't off of Louise's mind. Despite things not going as planned, Louise was happy, she was in love with a gorgeous hunk of angel and had a baby on the way as proof of their love. It had certainly seemed like love at first sight, in fact it had come so suddenly it was almost painful, she was a little hazy on the details. Louise sat on the couch of Tariq's home in Telrunya City, it was now her home as well since she had moved in, they were just so in love it was difficult to be apart. The female was doing some needle work on top of her work-station stomach that was full to the burst. She was making a small poofy dress, Louise was jumping the gun and hoping for a girl when she made the dress, but she had a little outfit in case it was a boy too. "Tariq, darling?" she called out to her mate as she felt a strong kick. Louise wasn't exactly sure where he was at the moment, she had been occupied with the sewing for awhile, the dress was almost finished.

Tariq comes in from the kitchen, drying a dish with a small white towel. "Yes, love?" he asks. "Everything alright?" His heart gives a little leap in his chest--maybe the baby was coming! They'd been waiting forever, it had seemed. It couldn't be long now.
His life had been turned pleasantly upside-down by his new mate and love of his life. Their courtship had been short, but passionate and true. In a few short weeks they had combined their households here in Telrunya City and were preparing for the birth of their first child! Perhaps they'd get married later, but those were just details for now. For now, Tariq is content with his new life of domestic bliss together with Louise.
He'd been rather a solitary sort before he'd met her, but the combining of households process had forced him out and about much more often, and he had to admit that he liked it. Telrunya City was a bustling one, always with something new to see or do. They'd bought a larger bed to fit the two of them, added onto his little house for a nursery, and filled that new room with things a child would enjoy. Secretly he's hoping for a little girl to spoil, but he'd spoil a son just as much. Everything had been prepared, all that's left is to wait.

Louise' eyes lit up when she caught a glimpse of her love, she still got butterflies when she saw him, or maybe that was just the baby moving around. The fae smiled sincerely when she saw the way he reacted to her. "Oh yes, everything is fine, the baby just kicked. I thought you might want to feel it," her cheeks flushed with joy. Louise adored every moment she was with Tariq. "Maybe we can get it to do it again," she poked the side of her tummy.
"Oooo. I don't think that was a kick." she winced as she experienced an odd sensation, not like anything she had felt before. It wasn't painful, just uncomfortable. Louise remained smiling and calm. She slowly put her sewing down and frowned at the dress which was just a few stitches short of being finished. "Well, I suppose everything else is ready," Louise lifted the dress to show her handiwork to Tariq, hoping he would approve.

Tariq's eyes widen as Louise's expression changes. "What? What is it? Is the baby coming?" he asks, beginning to panic a little. They'd prepared for this day, but now that it's here he has no idea what to do with himself. "Do we need to go to the midwife? Should I call her here instead?" He doesn't notice the dress, he's too preoccupied with the moment.

Louise couldn't help but giggle, even if she was a little afraid herself. She smiled at her partner and rubbed her belly as she slowly stood up from the couch. Louise leaned forward and kissed Tariq on the lips, mostly to get him to calm down and stop asking questions, but she wouldn't deny herself from enjoying it. "Slow down dear," she said gently, when she pulled away from the kiss. Louise set the dress back down, she wasn't sure when she would get the chance to finish it now that things were getting started, oh well. Louise tried to gather her thoughts together, even if they had sort of prepared, there was no way for her really to know how fast this was going to happen. The fae had still not had another one of those feelings, so she had to guess they still had time. "I think... I think we can go to the midwife." Louise winced, ah, there was another one of those feelings.

Tariq's eyes get as big as saucers as he realizes. It's time. "Okay, okay, you just stay there, I'll get everything." He dashes about the house, picking up the things they'd need, his wings twitching even though he isn't flying.
He'd gathered most everything up during the past few days, and now he burdens himself with it, like a pack animal. "Okay, I have everything! Let's go to the midwife! Do you need help standing?" he asks, offering his hands to help Louise up. "You can put your arm over my shoulder if you need help walking," he says. His nervousness is obvious, but so is his excitement. It's really time!

The brown faerie smiled warmly at the panic of her loved one. It was sad, but he was so cute when he panicked like that, especially with his wings twitching. Not that she wasn't slightly panicked herself. Louise put off a calm demeanor for the benefit of Tariq, but inside her heart was racing as he went off in search of their things. During that time Louise had sat back down on the couch. There was only so much standing one could do when they felt like a baby pae might fall out of them at any second.
It wasn't long before Tariq was back and ready. "Right... okay. Time to go." It was here, it was really here. Maybe now she might start freaking out like Tariq. She took several deep breaths in an attempt to self-soothe. Louise took his hand to help herself off the couch. She took a moment to steady herself, flapping her wings gracefully to find a good balance, then contented herself with holding Tariq's hand as they continued. "Ok, ready."
Louise walked beside Tariq as they made their way through the city towards the midwife. Her breaths were deep and shallow, and every few minutes she would stop walking to let a particularly painful contraction pass. It seemed like it took forever to get to the midwife's, but finally they were there. "Hello?" Louise called out, "I think I'm having a baby..."

Once Louise was all settled with the midwife, Tariq tries to just relax and let it all happen. It's hard, but the midwife had insisted that he stay out of her way and in the front room of her home. He tries to read, but the near-constant running back-and forth of the midwife's assistant for towels, hot water, or whatever else keeps Tariq from focusing. The also near-constant cries of pain from his beloved....they pang at his heart, making it incredibly tempting to just barge back there and demand to be helpful somehow.
But he has to trust that the midwife knows her trade. Childbearing is never easy. Oh, he would take the burden if he could!
After what seems like an eternity, the robust cry of an infant splits the air. Tariq leaps from his seat. "It's a girl!" he hears the midwife cry. He's practically crying with joy when the midwife's assistant brings him a little squirming bundle swaddled in a white blanket. She has gorgeous brown eyes. Just like his. He smiles and kisses her head. He instantly loves her. "Can I see Louise now?" he asks the midwife's assistant.
"She's not done yet!" yells the midwife in response.
"Not done yet?" Tariq repeats quizzically. The midwife's assistant grins. "Looks like she's got a twin on the way," she responds, nodding toward the brown-eyed child in Tariq's arms.
"Twins," he repeats faintly. He sits down in his chair again. He can't believe it.
This time it's a little easier to take his mind off his mate's cries. He's absolutely enchanted by this tiny child. "You are absolutely perfect," he says, tapping her nose. Immediately she begins to cry.
"Oh no no no, don't cry," he says, standing up and swaying back and forth, trying to calm her. "It's okay, it's okay," he murmurs, trying to make his voice soothing. "D-Daddy's here." Months of waiting and he still can't quite believe he's a father.

It was unlike anything she had ever experienced before, and just when she thought it was over it began again. Another one? That was what the midwife had implied, but she didn't have time to focus on that. She had to find her happy place and focus on that. Finally, then it was over. "Another girl," the midwife smiled as she set the second swaddled child into Louise's arms. "Tariq!" Louise called out, not even waiting for the midwife's permission. She wanted to see her love and her other daughter. As she waited for them to come to the room she admired her beautiful girl, stroking the delicate cheek it felt like there wasn't a care in the world. She smiled and made coddling faces before looking up to see if Tariq was there yet.

At the sound of his beloved's voice Tariq immediately strides into the back room where she'd been laboring all this time. "I'm here," he says, sitting in a chair beside her bed. He leans over and gives her a kiss.
"Twins! Can you believe it?" he asks, a giddy smile painted on his face. He cranes his neck to get a look at the newer daughter. Sweet smooth skin, just like her sister, but she'd gotten her mother's garnet-colored eyes. "What should we call them?"Wolfs Heart Sorry for the short post but I think we should wrap this one up soonish. Maybe one more each?

Louise grinned, all it took to get here was completely worth it as she took a first look at the first daughter she had birthed. She had hardly seen the child since labor had begun again so quickly. Both children were the most beautiful she had ever seen. "Oh Tariq! Are they not the most amazing?" Like most mothers she had some ideas for names floating in her mind, they were not 'traditional' names like hers, but she was a modern female. "Brazil..." she said looking at the girl in her arms. She looked up at Tariq for his approval.

"Brazil," he repeats, then nods. "It's a beautiful name, perfectly suited for a beautiful child!" His heart pounds inside his chest. This is all so exciting, happening so fast! One moment it had been just the two of them, the next they were a family of four! Twin girls! "What about Zora for this one?" he asks, bouncing the newborn in his arms. "The z-sounds go nice together. Zora and Brazil."
The names decided, and after a few more moments of cooing, Tariq makes preparations to take his wife and daughters(!) home. He pays and thanks the midwife, then slips a tip to the midwife's assistant.
The midwife had provided a cart that Louise and the little ones could ride in, so as to not have to walk. He'd haul them home, and then return the cart. Tariq can't wait to begin their new family life!
