Valeria had always been a very social child. She loved nothing more than to spend the day outside or have endless talks with family and friends. But after losing almost every family member she had ever loved, little cupid's arrow had drooped down to the ground and shuffled into the "security" that was her dorm room.
Months of seclusion passed by and now a very jittery Valeria was ready to face the outside world again. She hopped out into the open air and grinned. Everything looked about the same as the last time she had been outdoors! Whoooo! Candy pink eyes darted around from place to place, was anyone around?

Everyday was a good day to be outside no matter if it was dangerous or peaceful, there was always a chance to have fun outside. With an outfit picked out from the lost and found box Ariel darted outside to see what this day would bring. She had yet to make many friends and she wasn't sure if she could call Zephyr a friend which she was still confused about. Sighing she went through the doors. It seemed another girl stood there, looking as if she was trying to find someone. Thinking for a moment it felt as if she had seen her before but she couldn't think where. Before giving it more thought Ariel approached the taller girl and poked her should. "Hey have I meet you before? I feel like I've sean you somewhere."

Valeria smiled down to Ariel. This girl looked older than her, but she was so small! Maybe she was from a race she hadn't seen before! She giggled and extended her hand out to shake Ariel's.
"I don't think so, but maybe I didn't notice!" She exclaimed. "I can be spacey at times, so if I have met you before, sorry if I don't remember!" She laughed before continuing. "My name is Valeria! What's yours?"

It still hadn't come to Ariel but she was sure digging the vibe Valeria was giving off. With a wide smile Ariel took the other girl's hand and shook it firmly. "It's all fin 'cause I can totally be like that too. And the name is Ariel like the mermaid. I'm more flipping awesome though so you betta bereef it." She giggled before placing her hands to her hips. "Whale Valeria, you up for splashing with me? I promise it'll be fintastic." Again Ariel laughed, loving the chance to dish out more fish puns. boy did she love them.

Valeria couldn't help but grin and giggle along with Ariel. This girl was comic gold! Her puns were very amusing, she would have to ask the other girl to teach her how to be so witty! "You're 1000 times more awesome than any Disney princess!" Valeria exclaimed, nodding firmly. "I would LOVE to go splashing with you! Where can we go for swimming around here?"

"Shore. I know the perfect place. I go there all the time and always have a fintastic time. Come on I'll show you and you'll sea for yourself." Taking Valeria's hand, Ariel pulled her along towards the lake near the school she always went to when she had nothing planned. It took almost no time to get there, Ariel letting the other hand go as she continued until she was knee deep in water. "This here is where I come and splash out," she said as she presented her spot. It was a calm area that looked nice enough to hang out with friends or have a small private party.

Oooh, a lake! Why hadn't she noticed this before? She would have to take Alex here sometime! She was quick to follow Ariel into the water and paused when she was almost knee deep. The water was warm and felt great against Valeria's skin. "Wow! This place is beautiful, Ariel!" She exclaimed. "I don't know why I haven't seen it before."

"Probably 'cause not many come here. Even I found it by chance but since that day I've been hooked and reeled into this place." She giggled at her on joke before moving her dress so she could go in the water. Luckily this time she had remembered to bring a bathing suit and was even smart enough to wear it under her close. Tossing her dress towards shore he moved in deeper before diving in with a splash.

"Hey! Wait up!" Valeria chirped, wading into the water. She hadn't brought a bathing suit or a towel, but that didn't seem to bother her. Her clothes would do just fine! She dove after Ariel, making quite a splash herself, and rose to the surface with a giggle. "Whooo! I haven't been swimming in so long!" She cried, flopping onto her back to float for a little bit. "It's nice to be able to get outside after being cooped up... I've forgotten what it was like out here!"

The hold time Ariel stayed underneath as she began to change her legs to a fish like tail, make her hands webbed, and making her gills grow more from her neck. She had heard everything Valeria had said. She had known the same feeling but thanks to the mermaid Ariel had met a while back it had brightened up her life. A grin on her face she swam around the other girl, picking up speed until she finally jumped out of the water then dove back in. She resurfaced almost right after giving the other girl a smile. "Don't worry. All the other buoys and gills are just shy. You gotta go at the as brave as a tiger shark and in no time you'll have a much of fish splashing with you. I'll be around too."

Valeria giggled incessantly. Ariel had practically become a mermaid! That was epic! She wished she could be like her! She dove under water again and jumped back out, giving her multi-colored hair a flip. "I already have a few friends," She said, nodding as she flopped back on her back. "They're not very social yet, though. I've always been a socialite, though!" She laughed. "My daddy always said that I was that ray of light that everyone was so attached to. I'll bet I can make a big group of fish soon!" She kicked her feet and paddled around. "You can be the first fish in my group! We could all play video games and go swimming every Saturday! Wouldn't that be epic?"

Swimming calmly around the girl Ariel listen but at the mention of being friend, playing games, and coming to swim all together. Oh how a treat that was that she couldn't help but swim and jump around in joy. "Yes yes yes for shore," she said then moved closer. "Just watch out for my mad gaming scales. I bet we'd be a fintastic gaming team."

"I've got some mad gaming skills, too!" Valeria replied, smirking. "I'm KILLER at playing Mortal Kombat!" She giggled. "I love all sorts of games, really." She dunked back under water for a moment and popped back out, flipping her hair again. "What kinds of games do you like?"

"Good 'cause I totally wanna go up against you." Ariel swam up right beside Valeria and began to float. "I've heard of that. I haven't played but you bet that I do. I on the other fin I play mostly shooting game like Team Fortress 2 but only when I borrow someone's computer. If not I play the fighting games they have at the school. I use to go to the arcade but 'cause the attacks I haven't gone."
