Raumo glanced over at Nao, before his eyes returned, once more, to where he was walking. He gave a tiny nod; there it was. The confirmation. It was about him.
He thought about it for the few moments Nao appeared to be dwelling on his own thoughts. Nao was a good friend; he had a good heart, and perhaps helping to look after a tiny life would help to calm him down a little- although time could possibly do that as well, Raumo admitted to himself. If he was going to visit Inari with anyone, and have part of his spirit joined with part of someone else's, it would have to be someone he thought well of and cared about- and Nao did fulfil those requirements.
His ears perked up and he was snapped out of his contemplation by Nao's question. He mulled it over; his eyes glancing over Nao's white and red coat, before he turned his head to glance at his own brown spots. "I don't know. Maybe they'd end up looking completely different to how we imagine. I guess the only way to know would be to find out." He hadn't really thought about the physical characteristics- after all, the very idea was new to him right now. But that was an interesting thought- more possibilities than he could work out, maybe even with surprises coming through. It was intriguing.

Nao nodded thoughtfully in agreement. He could think about it all he wanted, but it would all be for naught if they never saw it through to find out for sure. Who knows; maybe they would come out green.
But he was jumping ahead, thinking about the outcome of their kittens before they had even explicitly discussed the possibility of even having kittens. But the possibility was looking positive. Nao would have changed their route right then to visit Inari; his mind was made up. But Raumo wasn't so impulsive. Without a doubt, his friend would want to mull it over for a time, have a few serious discussion, and then he might have an answer. Hopefully.
And Nao could wait. He was still growing himself, and could probably use a little maturing...Not! Nao snorted with amusement. Raumo was the mature, thoughtful one, and Nao the...jump right in without thinking one. A perfect match! They would definitely have a lot of fun with some kittens.
"I'm not even sure what to hope for...Red spots? Brown swirls? So many possibilities!" He chuckled. "But, like I said, no need to decide right now. We have plenty of time." He grinned over at his friend, excited. Even if they decided to avoid a kitten all together, he would always enjoy his friend's company.

Raumo stared at Nao; his amber eyes wide with mock surprise. "You, Nao? Be patient? Are you sure you didn't hit your head whilst we were running from that bear?"
He chuckled to himself; lightly hopping over a fallen log in his path. The trees were starting to thin, letting more sunlight through to them. He felt reassured by this; once they were out of the forest they could take it easier. Possibly rest a little before heading back to town. Either way, he was pleased to be putting more distance between himself and the wildlife.
"I suppose we will see, then." He was definitely warming to the idea; but he would have to talk to the families he shared homes with, and see if any of them would want a kitten to stay with them first. Make sure there was somewhere stable and settled for them. After that... Well. They would see.

Nao laughed, his grin wide and delighted. "Ok, ok, so...maybe we can try and not take to long in making the decision." He might be feeling calm and somewhat patient about it now, but he knew tomorrow would be a different story...or even an hour from now.
He nodded, agreeing. They WOULD see. Would see kittens! He was fairly confident now that Raumo would find himself on board with the entire operation. What was not to love about kittens?! They were a responsibility, sure, but Raumo had looked after Nao as a kitten, and never complained about it being too much of a problem. Nor could Nao recall being much trouble.
Sunlight was streaming through as the tree line thinned and a glimpse of town came into view. The trek into the forest had been fun, and Nao was a little disappointed they weren't still in the forest, but he couldn't say it wasn't nice to see something safe and familiar.
"Well, the day's still young, thanks to high tailing it out of the forest ahead of schedule. Lets go hunting for more adventure!" He laughed and glanced over at Raumo. "Orr...find a nice shady spot to relax in."

"'More adventure'?" Raumo snorted and shook his head. "Thank you, but I think having a rampaging bear attempting to remove my brain is adventure enough for one day." He looked around; the lush vegetation a pleasant break from the undergrowth and twigs in the forest. Everything looked so... Alive. The grass, the leaves on the trees, the flowers. The sun was warm and the songbird soothing. It seemed the events of the day were ensuring he appreciated the small things around him.
"I think... Just enjoying the weather for a bit might be nice, however. A sunny spot, for me, though. Somewhere I can feel the sun and the breeze, and hear and smell life around me."

Nao chuckled, though he had to agree. Normally, he was up for just about anything, but nearly dying at the hands...or rather, the claws, of a ferocious beast had left him just a little unnerved. He paused at the description Raumo painted, and glanced around. They were standing on a hill just outside the line of trees that made the forest, and could overlook the town from their higher standing. The grass was green and lush, the breeze was light, birds chirped from their perches and butterflies waved past.
"Well...why not here?" Sounded good to him; it was like a mini sanctuary. He flopped down in the grass, inhaling deeply, and rolled over onto his back, belly up, legs curled toward him. He closed his eyes, smiling. The sun felt so nice on his fur...
How he felt now was polar opposite compared to the that mornings exhilaration. He felt so...peaceful. And ready for a nap. Blissful. "I hope I always feel this way..." He murmured. "Happy. Satisfied."

Raumo smiled at Nao's desire not to go any further; to just roll over... right... here. Not that it was a bad spot; it was just so typical of Nao. Once he had his mind on something, he wouldn't waste any time about it.
Raumo settled down as well; tucking his paws under his body until they- and his front legs- were all but invisible. He somewhat understood what Nao meant; the brush with potential death making life seem so much more precious. The weather, of course, helped. Regardless, he let out a small chuckle and shook his head, half-closing his eyes. "Well, next time you feel less than happy with life, I recommend finding a simpler and safer method to make yourself more content than dancing with a bear." He let out a small yawn as he finished speaking and settled down further; starting to feel the warm, comforting darkness starting to tug him into sleep.

Nao snorted with amusement, opening his eyes briefly to watch Raumo settle down beside him. He was far more refined about it, making himself comfortable, rather than just...dropping, like dead weight. They seemed to end a lot of their days like this; warming their coats under the rays of the warm sun, the cool earth below them. A sweet combination on a warm Spring day; far better than the ice and snow of the Winter they spent together. It had been fun for a while, but it got annoying when there was no escape from the cold.
He closed his eyes as Raumo settled and he smiled. "Now that's not fun. What can make one feel more alive than a brush with death?" He teasingly inquired, but his words rang with truth. "But...I imagine too much could be stressful. This is just as nice..." He nodded sleepily to himself, slowly drifting off. He rolled over onto his side, fidgeting to get more comfortable.

"Well next time you can brush up to death without me," Raumo teased back; but overwhelming sleepiness rendered his words just about incomprehensible. It didn't much matter; the sun was warm, his friend was safe and happy. There wasn't much else that seemed to matter at all to him.
He let out a very quiet, unconscious purr as his eyes closed all the way as he drifted to sleep; the sun warm on his fur, the breeze a welcome cool, and the sounds and scents of nature all around a soothing backdrop to lull him off.
