He was a stray that was picked up a few weeks ago and has some healing up to do and a broken tail. Will be taking him into my own personal vet this week.
ISNT HE GORGEOUS?!

You got a new cat?! Truly, really?
That's the coolest thing I've heard all day! Has he met Freyja yet? Is he a lovely boy? Tell me lots!!

Really really. :3 Hes a giant lovable oaf. We call him "Mister" or "Buddy" and use his name for when we want him to come. He loves to be brushed and he is very easily over stimulated with toys. (Freyja has alot of them and he seems overwhelmed). Hes a goof ball and plays with all the things Freyja considered "too easy." (Seriously. Occupied for hours with a simple puzzle toy).
He a loafer, loves to talk, and is a real lover boy. smile Once we take care of the mats, hell be one handsome devil.
Freyja wants to eat his face off. Shes made that very clear. She thinks shes protecting me but I told her hed eat her for breakfast. Im not going to intro them until hes been all healed up. He was in a really bad cat fight that left him with a broken tail, and several puncture wounds. His ears need to be cleaned, which Im gonna do after his vet appointment on Thurs.
Hes not Foxglove, but hes already a valued member of our home. smile My fiance is smitten with him and finally has a cat that likes to lay on him. XD It even encouraged him to read one of my many cat related books. rofl (the boy dont read). Its teaching him the value of cats and the companionship that comes from owning a feline. Freyja tolerates him to a certian extent but likes me more.

He sounds absolutely perfect! Polar opposite to Freyja though.... which is probably a good thing. Better to have two cats with their own personalities than clones of each other.
Maybe he hasn't had much access to toys before? I feel like every time we get a new animal in this house we need to teach it to play... except for the kittens who came out playing. Poor Blossom needed a lot of instruction before playing finally clicked and now she never stops, but I guess if he understands playing but hasn't had a chance... his playing skills might be not quite up to those of your Freyja girl! But at least he does play. And entertains himself! Bonus. smile
He just looks absolutely stunning! I really can't wait to see how he looks when he's gotten to weight and all the mats out and everything. And I really do hope they get along eventually, I want to see photos of those two giants fluffy tabbies together!
It sucks that he's got so many ouches, but kudos to you for bringing home a less than physically perfect cat. To be completely honest... I don't know that I could. Not ouches like those, but I could bring a cat with the flu or something... I have issues with cuts and stuff. Although, I guess if I fell head-over-heels for a cat like you have... maybe I would do it. I sometimes suspect I'm not a very good person, but I'm trying to be.
And it's so awesome that he loves your fiance and vice versa! That's the major reason we're going to keep Tansy Patch, Marie-Cris adores her and I think it's only fair that she has a cat that's her. Minstrel loves us both, but I go to him far more, so he comes to me more (he's finally started snuggling with me and purring in the mornings when he thinks it's time to be fed. Best alarm ever). But it's so important to have a cat to love and it's great when the right cat comes by to do that.
Also, way off topic but because you mentioned Foxglove, two people have come to look at her, and both times she went all shy and hid under the couch. So much for me raising well socialised kittens! It doesn't help that neither lot of people tried to coax her out with playing or anything. They don't deserve her! But someone will come eventually that is willing to put time in and will fall for her. smile
They say its good to get 2 completely different cats. With age, gender, personality, etc. I wouldnt want another Freyja. D: As far as I know, shes one of a kind. Loki falls under the "Im an overly large oaf who needs some loving" catagory. XD
I dont think he had many. We had to pick up all the solo toys we had floating around because it was a bit much for him at first. He knows how to play but has an issue with unwanted clawing, being too rough with the humans, and going a little overboard with the spastic crazy. (Hell start twitiching up a storm. D: )
I cant wait to get him there. smile Hes really a magnificent boy. Hes going to take alot of work but Im willing to try. My fiance is also willing to try. I worked long and hard to get Freyja to a good place, and Ill be damned if I fail with him.
We didnt know the extent of his injuries until we started asking and I got to hold him. He had JUST been moved out of holding and didnt even have a paper set up indicating who he was. D: Alot of people were running around to get the info for me. But it was love at first sight, and he couldnt of found a more perfect home. His arm and neck are healing up nicely (just scabs now) and hes taking antibiotics still. Im not sure if his tail break was a previously healed injury or more recent. O.o He can still move both (the base and the tip) but Im so not amputating his tail. D: If it doesnt cause problems down the line, I wont. His big plume is my fav part of him right now. D: Its like...a giant fox tail. Or racoon tail. XD But both my fiance and I knew he was low on peoples adoptions lists. They all wanted kittens. :/
Ya, hes been calling Loki his. XD I cant believe hes actually reading and reataing info to ask me questions later. Hes also stepped up on feeding and box cleaning. smile Hes also been spending more time with Freyja, which she needs alot of right now. And they do make awsome alarm clocks unless they put you back to sleep. XD
D: Dont they know theyre supposed to dangle a string for her? It doesnt matter how well socialized they are. They need to interact with the kitty to see how they move and react. sad And warning you now: females are more aloof and cautious with strangers. She might be hard to place if people are willing to actually look at her and try to get her out of her shell.

I'd never want to cats the same either... it would be a little boring. It's good to have personality!
At least he can play, even if it's a bit too violent to be near! He sounds like such a gorgeous lad, I'm sure he'll work out pretty quick what he can and can't do. Definitely doesn't sound like a cat that will get his kicks from causing pain. smile
Tail amputation would be awful! But I know if it ever came to that or his health, you'd have to do it. sad Fingers crossed for you that the vet thinks it'll be fine forever though! I do like a big floofy tail, even though it's something I've never had much to do with... I hoping Nightshade has a floofy tail.
It really great that Loki is kicking your fiance into cat addiction. Shared cat addiction is always the best way to go. smile
People are idiots! I just figure eventually someone will come that is willing to put some effort in. Part of the problem, I think, is that it's late kitten season so there are kittens everywhere. Both people who came had obviously been elsewhere first, so I guess they immediately go with the outgoing kittens that have been living in other houses rather than our sweet, shy babies. *sigh* Oh well, anyone who doesn't understand they need coaxing, isn't the right home for them anyway.
