This is kind of an old one that I wrote for a school project. It was my first ode and my English teacher really liked it so I thought I'd see what you guys think.

An ode to an African American woman
who conquered slavery
who would not stop,
would not yield to discrimination,
until every slave had tasted freedom

An ode to a woman called Moses
The leader to the promised land
who risked her own life and freedom
for that of others

An ode to a hero
who built and conducted a train
that never got off track
and never lost a passenger
