The Chancey teen was feeling pretty good about herself, after all she helped her brother overcome his silly decision about becoming a stripper as well help him reunite with his friend Heath. So she should be giving herself a pat on the back since it had been a lot of work getting them to speak to each other again. So today she was going on a picnic, in the forest alone. Now it seemed weird she would go celebrate by herself, but when things had been rather tense, it was nice to just relax alone.
Though she hoped like the last time she went for a picnic she would be pleasantly surprised to find herself accompanied by a Pokemon again. So as usual she packed extra food just in case, as well extra drinks to accommodate any extra mouths to feed. Swinging the basket in tow, she was wearing a lovely sun dress of yellow and white as well had a large white sun hat on. It didn't take her long to find the perfect spot for her lunch and so. She was spreading the blanket on the ground, smoothing out the edges before setting up the rest of the food.

Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately!) for Habiki, someone else had found this to be the perfect picnic spot as well. A small vanilite had taken to watching for others; if they brought food, certainly they had enough to share! Jacen had been recently abandoned, and had not yet learned to find food for himself; the vanilite had taken to stealing. He was used to poffins and taking them from the much coveted poffin jar with help of fellow pokemon.
The vanilite bounced over to the picnic spread. He wasn't particularly sneaky--nor particularly quiet. In fact, he seemed to be speaking aloud--and to himself. "Will she have poffins? I miss poffins." And berries. And homemade cookies--and there was a girl! He stared at her for a long moment before sitting at the picnic blanket. Maybe he wouldn't have to take the basket this time. Maybe she'd invite him to eat!
"Can I join you?" he asked.

Habika had expected a pokemon to make an appearance once she had started setting out the food and drinks. Treats always seemed to draw them out though she was surprised to see the cute little vanilite appear. Those didn't normally live in this area did they? Although surprised to see it bouncing up to her, she didn't mind as he inquired about joining her.
"Why of course little one, your welcome to join me. I have all sorts of treats..cookies and muffins, sandwiches and drinks." The chansey girl managed with a smile as she brought said foods to the forfront so it could get a look over it. "Are you alone? Or are your friends waiting in the bushes?" She inquired looking behind him, wondering if there were more...or perhaps an owner about since this little ice type didn't normally come from these parts.

"Alone," Jacen's response was sad. "Not alone anymore, though!" he added, with a much brighter expression as he gestured to her. "Will you be my friend? My name's Jacen." He'd used to live in a cabin in the woods, not too far away from their picnicking spot. He watched her take out each food as she named them, before darting over to take a cookie. He carefully held it with both hands. He took a bite. He gave a sound of absolute delight, following the first swallow with another bite.
"These are good! Did you make these? These are the best." They had to have been made with love and everything good, Jacen was sure of it. He moved from his spot, finishing off his cookie before moving to nestle himself in the chansey girl's lap.
"You should come here more often," he said. "What's your name?"

Habika smiled and nodded her head, she wanted so badly to give the little pokemon a pat on the head but refrained as she let it enjoy the treats offered to him instead. A delicate hand went up to her mouth giving a soft giggling sound as Jacen enjoyed her cookies with earnest.
"Yes I did, I love to bake all sorts of things. I"ve been doing it ever since i was very little." The chansey woman managed as she looked at the pokemon before her and then went to her picnic basket. Pulling out something else for the pokemon to eat and perhaps drink she set a ham sandwich in front of him.
"My name is Habika, and yours little one?" she inquired as the pokemon settled into her lap and she smiled stroking his head.

"My name's Jacen!" the vanilite responded with a beam, catching sight of the ham sandwich that had been set in front of him. He took the sandwich carefully with both hands. He took a bite, chewed and swallowed before rewarding the chansey girl with a smile. "This is good!" he said. "Very, very good! I like this. You are very good at making things." The vanilite appeared quite content, having settled in Habika's lap.
"Can I keep you?" he asked, "You're like a trainer. I had one, but she left me. I think she forgot me. I can't find her. I've looked and looked." He sighed, taking another bite of his sandwich. He leaned against Habika. "I've stopped looking though," he confessed. "I don't think she wants to be found. If she did she would've left me poffins. She only left me these." He gestured to a bush; there was a vanilite plush poking out of it. "I've been taking care of him! He's my baby."

Oh what a cute name the little pokemon had! In fact he was just adorable! She wanted to just hug him over and over but as he told her about ...his trainer she felt herself feel a bit sad, it was such a sad story. Wrapping her arms around him she snuggled her face into the pokemon even if it was a bit chilly.
"Sorry little one, I can't be your trainer but I can be your friend, and I promise I can come visit you often and bring you treats." Habika was good for her word, though as he mentioned the baby she blinked, it was just a toy that the vanilite was taking care of it caused her heart to break.
"Jacen, I ..." She so wished she could take him home, but she wasn't living on her own yet..she was still baby sitting her own trainer and bringing in another pokemon would..be a bit much to ask of the family who looked after her and Blake.
"I can't bring you home...but I promise I will visit you. A lot!"

"Oh. I like friends, too!" Jacen, though he seemed rather disheartened at the fact that Habika couldn't be his trainer, flashed the teenager a reassuring smile. "I'd like you to visit," he said. "You should! I like treats!" He gave the teenager another smile before taking a bite of his sandwich. It had been--well, a long time, he figured, since he'd been able to eat anything homemade. "You're nice, I love you!" He set the sandwich down and wrapped his stubby arms around the chansey girl.
"Visit, a lot?" he echoed hopefully. He beamed up at the girl. "Good! Visit a lot! A lot! Then you'll bring food? For me?" It would be nice, to be sure where his meals would be coming from. It would be nice to have a friend, if not a trainer. Someone who cared.
"I want to visit you, too!"
