Hoarding/Vending 101Everyone has to start at some point. If you are new to gaia or just never really understood how the marketplace works and get gold by posting on forums, daily chance or booty grab, then I believe this little section is worth a read.
First and foremost, it is important, before handling any longer term hoards, that you first create for yourself some capital. Capital is the amount of gold you have set aside to hoard or vend (which, at least when you begin hoarding and vending for the first time, should be nearly all of your gold at the time.)
Vending can start somewhat early on without much capital. The more capital you have, though, the more gold you will be able to make. Chance Items (obviously my favorite items, which is expressed in detail HERE, are my personal favorite item to vend AND to hoard, but vending chance items takes quite a bit of capital.
It is also important to note that, depending on what you decide to vend, you may not always make gold. There are times when I will buy something when I notice it has dropped quite a bit and, hoping for a decent return, I buy a few. Then when I get on the next day it drops a bit more than what it had before. It is frustrating when this happens, but you must take risks to make gold, and you must learn when to weather through it or to cut your losses.
A good basic rule of thumb for vending (In my opinion) is to gain at least 1,000,000 gold of capital to start with. In order to gain 1,000,000 gold, you will still most likely have to vend, just smaller items than you would after you get to your goal. It will take time to get this far, and you must avoid the constant temptation to buy items you want for yourself so you can make your gold work for you. I personally vended quite a bit of ink when I first started, as you can usually find quite a few of them cheap as singles and then sell in a bundle for nearly double what you paid. Monthly Sealed Envelopes are often a very good item to vend (during a SPECIFIC period, buying on the 11th or 12th and selling on the 14th or 15th, just before the announcement) as they are very quick methods to get a decent bit of gold in a relatively short amount of time.

Common/Quick Rewarding ActivitiesBesides vending and hoarding (although it is the best method to obtain extra gold), there are endless other ways you can make gold on Gaia. Games give little gold, but poker or the slots can turn your tokens into tickets which can be sold for gold or exchanged for decent items in Prize & Joy.
The most effective method I have found involves aquariums. Rather than the forums, which disables you from posting quickly, there is the "message in the bottle" in the aquariums that allows you to quickly read a simple message posted by another user and respond to it, giving you the same gold the forums would. You can easily make a few thousand gold per day using this method.
Not to mention BOOTY GRAB. If you are able to find a good forum that lists many dolphin / airshark tanks, you will easily be able to make 10k gold within a few minutes. One I have found is Here.

If you notice the numbers, after playing 40 games, I was able to make more than 80,000g. And it took less than an hour!!!
With that being said, if you play about 50 games a day, you will easily be able to make 1 million gold in as little as 10 days. This, I believe, is THE best way to build your capital without vending / hoarding. Used on top of vending and hoarding, and you will be swimming in gold!
The forums themselves are also a good way to go. Most people on here talk for hours regardless, and you may as well get paid for posting your opinion.
Make SURE to click each button on the navigator every day and get the Daily Chance items. I have gotten a few items from it worth 30,000 gold. For simply clicking a button, that is quite a good deal!
It also helps for you to be aware of freebies. I try to post them on here when I see them, but some of them are evasive. Just recently there have been quite a few freebies that are worth quite a bit of gold.
Regardless, vending and hoarding is still the way to go. This all should be done ON TOP of vending for you to reach your capital goal as quickly as you can.
