The sun was high, and a crisp breeze rustled through Rowan's dark fur as he traveled leisurely through the forest. It was a clear day, a perfect day to take a stroll down to his favorite clearing with the pond and take a little dip among the frogs and the lily pads. His favorite clearing and pond existed in an area he considered his "territory"; if a lone wolf void of a pack could consider anything territory.
Still, he had seen nor sensed any other wolves invade the area since he had stumbled upon it, so it was other unclaimed in his mind. And with his scent all over the area, he doubted he would ever see another wolf in the area.
But he was wrong.
That day, the unthinkable occurred. As soon as he stepped into the clearing, his gaze landed on a she-wolf, standing on the bank of the pond. Her coat was glorious, like stars shooting across the night sky. But beauty aside, she was in his territory. Uninvited! The nerve! "Hey...HEY!" He barked, quickening his pace to approach her. "What do you think you're doing? This is my pond! My clearing!" He hissed, stepping into the pond to stand in front of her.

The minute the smell of water hit Morning Rain's nose, she could have jumped for joy. She'd been traipsing through the woods with no clear direction in sight and was growing thirstier by the minute. She stood at the edge of a pond in a clearing, smiling at the sight of it and getting caught up in her thoughts.
She had finally taken the leap of adulthood and ventured away on her own. Despite her father's reluctance at letting her go, she made sure to reassure him that she'd come back and visit. This was her time to journey off and find adventure and perhaps a place of her own.
Speaking of finding a place of her own... she tilted her head to the side as she observed her surroundings. This was a decent area. She had seen plenty of prey on her walk here. It had a water source as well. Hm...
Just as she was about to dip her head to the water for a much-needed drink, a raised voice startled her, and she whipped her head up to stare at the wolf who had stepped into the pond. A male. Wonderful. She hadn't run into any wolves on her short journey thus far, but she had known it would only be a matter of time before she saw someone. Well now it was time to turn on the charm.
Relaxing her stance, she slapped a smirk on her face and swung her tail leisurely behind her. She stepped into the pond as well, circling him slowly as she let out a chuckle.
"Well, well, well," she purred. "What is your name, big boy?" She finished her circle winked at him. "And what do you have against... sharing?"

Rowan perked at the seductive note in her tone, but was quick to banish all intrigue from his mind. She was an enchantress, attempting to lure him in with a voice like silk. Clearly, she thought a simple bat of her eyelashes would make him swoon, make him forgive her presence. Not on my watch. He vowed mentally. Snorting, he squared his shoulders and lifted his chin, jutting it out stubbornly. He dug his paws into the soft mud of the bank, anchoring himself, almost as if he feared she might try and push him away physically. He could already tell she wasn't going to leave willingly, and he didn't doubt she was above playing dirty.
"I do not share what is mine." He stated simply, his voice hard, but void of a threat. He didn't want to harm the she-wolf; wasn't even sure now he wanted to scare her away. "But I'm the one asking the questions here; what are you doing in my clearing?"
She was playing a dangerous game, challenging him. For all she knew, he was the alpha of a pack, and did not take kindly to intruders in his territory. But she must have known something; at the very least, that he was above attacking her. She might have also been smart enough to assume he was alone. That, or she was simply foolish.

She tried to keep the urge to bite him down. So he wasn't a male that could be easily taken by her act. It would seem she'd have to try a bit harder.
"Why not?" she smirked, swishing her tail back and forth. "Sharing has many benefits ~"
She was beginning to rethink staying here. Sharing land with this surly brute? But he had stepped into her watch and deflected her fake advances. Could he see through her? This was a challenge she wasn't willing to back down from. Her father had always taught her and her brothers never to back down from a challenge because it showed weakness. She retreated from her thoughts and raised her head up high, looking directly into the male's eyes with her own half-lidded ones.
"I am looking for a place to call my own," she purred. "I like this one so I think I'll be staying,"
