☠_Introduction_☠
Young Japanese noble, Kisaki's sister is being married off to an Italian noble and military man, Cristiano, that he has come to despise more than anything in this world. While struggling with his own inner demons, he still mourns for the the love of his life, Eboshi, who died in the war.
This story takes place several months into the Wedding arrangements between Kisaki's sister, Akari, and Cristiano, the Italian noble that she is being married off to. Kisaki and Cristiano have become. . Bitter rivals within this time; Everything from snarky comments, venomous banter, to verbal confrontations. Kisaki and Cristiano just can't seem to get along at all, yet at the same time.. they can't seem to keep their eyes off of each other, those two...
PostPosted: Sat Feb 23, 2013 3:43 pm

Beautiful blood reds and yellows smeared across the sky like that of paint on a canvas. Sunset was Kisaki's favorite time of the day. He could watch it unfold every single day, and he could if he wanted to. The beauty of being royal - you always had time on your hands. Perhaps too much time. But of course his artistic mind would think of these things; the sun was the paint to the canvas of the sky. Only a true romantic at heart would be able to see such things. And Kisaki was one of those to the fullest extent. He ate, breathed and lived art and creativity. It was the one passion in the world that wouldn't be taken from him. You see, even as a noble, someone with power and a title, Kisaki wanted to follow his heart on things. It felt a sin to let his life slip away without doing the things he truly wanted to. But life was tough even for royalty. Inner demons would forever torment the young Kisaki. And there was little to combat it with. But for right now there were more pressing and important matters on hand. There Kisaki stood, leaning his elbows on the balcony rail. Normally he would be lost in thought, self pity.. that sort of thing. Today was different though. With a glare of his amethyst eyes, he tore his gaze from the sky and down to the green grass of the back of the palace. There he could see the man who filled him up with such anger and torment that he would spend his usual time in deep thought spent on contemplating how to attack; the jerk, Cristiano.

"That great oaf…" he mumbled quietly to himself, looking more like a little boy pouting over spilled milk than the twenty-two year old Japanese noble. His long brown hair was tied up in a sort of side ponytail, adorned with a giant flower and headband with dangling pieces of lace. A white and gold corset was strapped to his small torso, his hips covered by a short embellished skirt full of intricate lace and details. Kisaki shifted his weight to one leg while lazily propping his head up with one jeweled hand. He had a few rings on today. They glistened in the remaining sunlight. The man below playing croquet would have noticed it if he was truly paying attention, catching the suns rays in beautiful flashes and beams. Kisaki didn't care if the man could see him or not though. No, he had a bone to pick with that jerk. If it was the last thing he'd do he was going to at least call him out on it. "A real jerk.."

The dinner bell rang out, catching Kisaki off guard. He nearly tumbled over and then blinked a few times. A frown appeared on his pink lips. "I blame the jerk for that too.." Acting more like a child, Kisaki huffed, gathered himself up and then marched into his room, shutting the glass door behind him. He scurried over to his mirror and once he was deemed ready by his own standards, finally left to go down to the dining hall. He purposely walked slow in the hopes that he could catch Cristiano before going into the dining hall where he wouldn't be able to address his problem easily. Nobody wants to start a war at the dining table especially in front of your parents. Something about keeping up good impressions. Oh, Kisaki hated it. In fact, he despised it with a good chunk of his logic and reason. The fake dinners, the fake smiles, the fake laughs, the fake enjoyment of others company; it was all a lie. A great lie that just so happened to be life. Kisaki noted that he would have a long discussion about this topic later on in the night. Yes, he made mental note of that but then started to daydream of other things. While waiting for that great idiot to make his appearance, Kisaki began to see fleeting images of a tall, tanned and handsome man giving him a soft smile before fading in an out of focus. He stopped walking altogether and just stared off into space for a bit, letting a smile adorn his own beautiful face.

Cristiano was outside playing Croquet with his father and a few other people. As they all played they discussed business, politics- basically all of the things that made Cristiano want to go mad and beat them all with his mallet. He simply rolled his brown eyes at the conversation being had and made his move. After his turn, he stood off to the side to let the next person take their turn.
While he stood by, out the corner of his eye he could see an angry Kisaki glaring down at him, but he didn't acknowledge it. Instead he decided to frolic, and continue to enjoying the sunset.
The dinner bell rang and everyone went in. Cristiano looked up to see that Kisaki was gone, and he couldn't help but think to himself, "I wonder what's for dinner." Setting the mallet off to the side, Cristiano went in and shut the door behind him. As he walked he could see Kisaki standing there, "Well," Cristiano started, and then he walked up to him, he said to him "I was hoping for a female escort, but since you resemble one I guess you'll do." Cristiano smirked and then folded his arms.
Cristiano stood at a towering six feet and five inches tall, with broad shoulders, and a smooth face which currently housed a pair of lips that formed a devilish smirk. He loved that Kisaki was so short compared to him, it made it so much more fun to insult him every chance he got.
PostPosted: Sat Feb 23, 2013 4:53 pm

The vision was so realistic. It was as if Eboshi were there in the very hall with him. For a split second the man did not fade, for a split second he was as clear and vivid as Kisaki. These delusions were not healthy in the slightest. If he was caught staring into space then surely bad things would take course. Still, there was no way his beautiful purple eyes would tear from that spot. There was no way he would let this fleeting moment end without reaching out, gripping it and attempting to never let go. With all his might he held back tears. But before a single one could form properly, there came the biting voice that he detested. Within a second everything had shattered. The image was completely gone, the ghost figure no longer gracing the young Kisaki with a smile or stare. All within a mere moment, everything had shifted. The warmth that Kisaki felt, the very embers of his soul burning pleasantly had been wiped out by a cold wind.

That wind was Cristiano. With a very distasteful glare Kisaki turned his eyes up to the man and shrugged his shoulders rather angrily. "Oh? Females are dainty beings, are they not?" His lips burned with the intense need to bite right back. Send an angry response to this man, a perfect insult, just like he always did. "You make my sister sound like a wailing Orca. You both sound like blubbering walruses, actually. Definitely not how a dainty female should sound." Without faltering, he stared stared up to Cristiano, taking a step forward to decrease the distance between their two bodies. He folded his arms as well, in a near holier-than-thou stance. Kisaki felt that if his sister wanted to partake in such bestial activities and enjoy it, then she was not worth his time in defending or wanting to protect. Her virginal habits had quickly dissipated since the relationship between she and Cristiano had started. And while Kisaki was no saint, he thought it was rather wrong that he be subject to having to listen to the wails and moans of ecstasy other than his own.

With a frown, Kisaki rolled his eyes at the sheer thought of having to think of his sister in bed with such a brute, then started for the dining hall, already fed up with the man. "You're rich, Cristiano... Might I suggest buying a muzzle for her? Or perhaps yourself?" For some reason seeing Cristiano up close always made Kisaki back down a bit. While he could plot and plot for days, come up with a grand scheme and then be ready to pull it off.. it would all fade at least a tiny fraction of a bit and he would never execute it to his original full intent. This was no exception. Having to gaze up into those brown eyes struck a nerve with the porcelain-esque Kisaki. For some reason he just couldn't think of anything better to have spit out at the man and thus he retreated to the dining hall. Thank goodness too, for it was a very large hall with a very large table. If all went his way, he wouldn't have to be seated near that tall jerk and his own whore of a sister. Yes, he could just sulk in his own corner of the table, mashing peas and potatoes together like a good little noble, avoiding all talk of politics, wars and whatever other man-made disdain his elders enjoyed wasting breath over.

He stood by the doorway, gazing over the table to see the spread of breads and fruits already out. For some reason Kisaki's appetite wasn’t the first thing on his mind. What was occupying it now was the vision of Eboshi again. Recently and with increasing frequency this would happen; he would see these crisp and clear images of the man stand before him. There was not a single soul on this earth that he could confide in the matter over though. It was a very difficult battle to fight all alone. "Tch.. and having to hear those two creatures in heat doesn't help me with this problem either.." he groaned very quietly to himself under his breath. Oh, how he just wished this night were over already so he could retreat to his room and spend the next four hours speaking in confidence to the sky above.

"I happen to like Orcas and Walruses. They are majestic creatures. Thank you, Kisaki." Cristiano retorted, and stared down the petite little man. He wondered if Kisaki forgot what he did for a living. Cristiano wasn't intimidated by some pampered palace boy. Cristiano was the captain of his own army. He stared into the face of death on a daily basis when he's deployed. Kisaki didn't scare him in the least bit. But it was still funny to see him fight back as though he were just as tall as Cristiano.

Cristiano walked along side Kisaki, and after a remark about a muzzle Cristiano replied, "Then that would defeat the whole purpose in what I do. And besides. . " He said as he looked down at Kisaki, still walking along side him, "If I put a muzzle on her, then I can't hear the delightful Orca song you hate so much." And then like an immature little boy, Cristiano made the noise that an Orca would make and chuckled.

Once they got into the dining room, Cristiano purposefully sat next to Kisaki. Moments later Akari came in and she was about to sit down on the other side of Cristiano, but he got up and pulled out her chair for her. He saw her smile and she sat down, then he pushed in the chair and sat back down. Once he sat down, he reached for an apple and purposefully bit into it near Kisaki's ear. "Mmmm. . Delicious." He said, then leaned over to Akari. They talked for a little bit, and he said to her, making sure Kisaki can hear him, "Hey. . You know those noises you made last might?" Akari blushed and nodded, Cristiano said to her again, ". . They sounded majestic. . Make them again tonight?" Akari nodded and replied, ". . Then do what you did last night." Cristiano could just picture Kisaki thinking "I'm gonna be sick." And he smiled at the thought of it.

"I thought this was supposed to be a pleasant dinner, not a vomit circus."

Kisaki eyed the grapes for a while before reaching over and grabbing a bunch, then began plucking them off of it slowly. He gazed down angrily at the poor fruit. He was disgusted that this was what his life had to offer him now. No majesty, nothing interesting, no fun or love.. just this. In his wine glass he could see his reflection and just how angry he was. This man could get under his skin so easily and yet he had no impact back on Cristiano. It felt as though he had lost his touch. Did he ever have a touch to begin with, though? Kisaki was unsure. In fact, he doubted he ever could make the man squirm or even strike a remote ounce of fear or hatred in him. It seemed everything that Kisaki tried to do never worked out right. This life was just a torment he hated but couldn't escape. He would count his blessings tonight though. He promised himself that he would stay out there all night if he had to, if only to get away from their noises. The misery seemed to wear on his face like a fresh coating of make up.

He blinked and then looked back in the glass to see the reflections of Cristiano and his sister, Akira. He wanted so much to hate them both, to hate her and how happy she could be. The deep truth of it was that he was jealous of them. One of the most evil and ugliest of sins to have; jealousy. It would take no genius to have realized that when Eboshi was in his life, Kisaki was a delight around the palace. He nearly had a magic waltz to his step. The positivity radiated out of him like rays from the sun, he was quite warm and glowing. The day that Eboshi went away was the day Kisaki had changed. The day he found out that Eboshi had been slain was the day Kisaki's life would ultimately never be the same, at least not in his opinion. As his amethyst gaze stared into the reflections of the glass, he bit his lip a bit to hold back a sigh.

Yes, he was jealous of the fact that his sister actually liked the man she was being forced to marry. He was jealous that they both seemed to love each other equally. And here Kisaki was, holding onto a dream and a fantasy that had already blown over.. that had already been ripped from his core. The bitter sting of reality was always the hardest to get over. Not even aware of his actions, he reached for the thin chain necklace he wore around his otherwise naked neck. His pale fingers brushed down over the chain until it reached the gem and precious diamond hanging from it. His eyes closed for mere moments.

Snap out of it.. someone will see..

Kisaki reached for his glass and took a slow sip, then placed it back down and started eating his grapes as if nothing had even happened. "Cristiano," he started softly, leaning over to the man and making sure his sister wouldn't exactly hear. "Would you mind just... keeping your disgusting talk of acts in the bedroom out of dinner conversation, please? My appetite is already shot since I have the misfortune of sitting next you anyway, but I would appreciate it all the same.."
Jealousy was a very bitter thing. It stabbed at him like knives. Finally the first course arrived. Kisaki sipped at his soup as quickly as he could without burning his lips, hoping that if he finished eating promptly, he would be able to excuse himself and just leave after the meal was done. If Eboshi were here, Kisaki would have enjoyed these dinners with his family and future family. Ah, but that was not possible. Even if Eboshi were alive.. it would not be possible. The man had run quite the risk continuing a relationship with the noble Kisaki. He already knew that nobody else would ever take that chance for him. Oh no, Kisaki was simply not worth it. He just had to look over at his sister and Cristiano to see that. Kisaki would never be fit to marry, never be able to produce children, never be able to be any use to a world that only desired those few things from the rich nobility.

As the dinner continued and the main course was finally served, Kisaki ate at his roast chicken gingerly then shot an evil glance to the man again. "Perhaps when mother and father go on their little trip next week you two lovebirds can relocate to another room. Say.. across the palace, if not another country."

Later on that night. . .

Cristiano could be seen now exiting Akari's room and tying up his robe as he walked. Cristiano was in the mood for a little snack, so he decided to head downstairs for a little refreshment. As he walked down the steps he remembered dinner time, and the laughs he had had at Kisaki's expense. That was fun. But when Kisaki stopped fighting back, Cristiano started to wonder what was bothering him. It was kind of their thing; To banter and argue with each other, but when Kisaki doesn't fight back it usually means it's a bad sign. Of course asking him 'Hey, what's wrong?' was out of the question, as Cristiano was never one to talk about feelings or anything. Being around his father too much, as well as his twin brothers, who are both thirty-five and all about themselves anyway, means that talking about "feelings" makes you a woman. In Cristiano's household talking about your feelings was considered "a woman's thing". Something you would only do with your mother if your father wasn't around, but Cristiano never gets to spend time with his mother. So he doesn't get any "practice" in that field. So talking to Kisaki about his feelings is out of the question.

As Cristiano made his way down the staircase, he could see some of the lights were still on. This made it easier to get to the kitchen, where he was going to fix a little snack and then head off to bed. Once he made his way into the kitchen, he let out a sigh and then looked around for something to eat inside of the fridge. He let out a 'Hmmm' as he decided between fruit or the leftover Roast that was for dinner. As he was deciding, he looked over to his left to see a light on in the dining area, "Someone else must be awake." He impulse grabbed an apple and proceeded out to the dining area where he saw Kisaki sitting there reading. A smirk crept across his face and he said to him, "Well, you're up pretty late. Get yourself a hot date finally?"
PostPosted: Sun Feb 24, 2013 10:00 am

If Cristiano was the man who never spoke of feelings than Kisaki was anything but. Though he had hit a dilemma nowadays, with nobody to confide his feelings to. He had spent the majority of the night since dinner contemplating very deep things, wondering just why he felt so depressed and jealous. It was not his place to be jealous of his sister being the one who would help propel their homeland forward. He actually didn’t care about that. The one thing that he was jealous of was the fact that she would be able to marry and, apparently, be with a man who she cared deeply for. A man who could obviously fulfill her desires, lust as well as actual love. The cold bitter jab of jealousy continued to p***k at his skin as he had retreated back inside the palace from the balcony. He grabbed one of his books and headed down to the main floor. There was a sitting room that he enjoyed, one that smelled of smoke and potpourri. There nestled in a chair he could be seen in the late hours of the night. Sometimes he just had to get out of his room, not only because of the muffled noises he would hear but also just for some sanity.

Kisaki curled his legs under his body as he sat perched in the giant velvet chair facing the fireplace. He had his deep blue robe on, lavish and large on his frame. Some of it fell from his shoulder because it was too big but it still kept him warm. His hair was haphazardly thrown up in a messy bun with strands falling by his ears, and he constantly would brush them back. But his beautiful amethyst gaze was set on the pages of the open book before him. It was no magical tale or storybook ending he was reading though. Hidden in the pages he had stuck letters to and from Eboshi. The book was a mere ploy in case anyone were to ever catch him. As he sat there reading them over and over again, going through every word.. every single letter in a word, he bit his lip absentmindedly. Hidden in these parchments were the very last things he had of Eboshi. These were the last few artifacts he had that had once passed through the man’s hands and felt the warmth of that tender touch. Kisaki sighed.

“I don’t even have a portrait of you..” he mumbled under his breath. His eyes were on the verge of filling with tears as he read over the words “Forever yours, my dearest blooming flower” when Cristiano appeared and nearly scared Kisaki out of his wits. Instantly, he shut his book in fear that the man would see, then he growled and an angry expression etched over his face. “Oh, it’s you.” The man rolled his eyes, “I don’t need a ‘hot date’ to make myself feel better or any more adequate if that's what you're getting at. Are you two done so I can finally go to sleep?”

Oh, Kisaki just hated this man. He always had a tendency to show up at the worst possible moments and this was no exception. Kisaki wondered if Cristiano had even heard him mumble, his face flushed as he thought on it. It would be more fodder, more fuel to the already annoying fire. God, that was the last thing Kisaki wanted. But as he sat there glaring at Cristiano with that sparkle of anger in his eyes, he couldn’t help but make note of all of the similar features the man had to Eboshi. Eboshi had been a soldier too, a man of strength who could wield a sword for a living. He was tall.. as tall as Cristiano perhaps. He had always towered above Kisaki anyway, everyone seemed taller than him. Eboshi was muscular too, but much leaner than the man before him now. But unlike Cristiano, Eboshi was not a rich diplomat or war hero. He had humble beginnings as a farmhand who volunteered to join the war effort by becoming a soldier. He saw a few battles before he had met Kisaki and seemed to have learned quite a bit from those encounters. He would never be appreciated in the palace.. he was not up to the standards of anyone here. The fact that he was male would have done nothing in Kisaki’s favor either.

In that moment, Kisaki regretted never bringing the man over just to introduce him as a friend. Kisaki regretted never being able to show Eboshi his room.. the view from the balcony.. the beautiful way the sun would hit the fountain water at just the right time of the day to make it look as if it were sparking diamonds out instead of water. Suddenly Kisaki snapped out of it and blinked a few times, completely unaware that Cristiano was still there and probably thinking Kisaki was either losing his mind or too tired to be up at this hour. s**t, he really needed to control these moments of self pity.

Cristiano shrugged, then bit into his apple. Biting into the apple was the only thing keeping him from laughing hysterically at Kisaki's startled reaction. He chewed and swallowed, then smiled, "For now we are," He said, just before biting into the apple again.
Cristiano looked at what Kisaki was wearing. He could've sworn that he borrowed it from Akari, or something. Then again, the two could've let the other borrow clothing the way sisters would with each other.
Kisaki's behaviour and way of dressing amused Cristiano. He had never seen such a feminine male before, "Must be a Japanese thing. Heh. . Those crazy Japanese." Kisaki dressed so womanly and Cristiano never understood it. The men in his country dressed like. . Well. . Men! If men in Italy dressed like women most of them would be laughed at- At least the common man would. He didn't know if a Noble man would be laughed at, "Maybe I should try it out. . Just to see if I can get away wi-. . . . WHY am I thinking about dressing like a woman? I'm a man, damn it!"
Cristiano didn't bother asking Kisaki if he could sit down, because he knew what the little smartass would say. So, Cristiano took the liberty of pulling up a chair. He sat down and leaned forward a bit, and he said, in reply to his comment, "You know, you seem SO unhappy all the time. I think that you would be a lot happier if you did have a woman, or a. . ." Cristiano looked over Kisaki again, then continued ". . Whatever you're into." He then bit into his apple again and smiled as he chewed.
PostPosted: Sun Feb 24, 2013 11:24 am

Kisaki simply frowned. He hated how brash Cristiano could be. How rude it was for him to just pull up a seat and sit by Kisaki. Did nobody get privacy anymore? He cradled the book in his arms and then looked into the fire as he replied. “Women of this country are not too keen on a man who is more beautiful than they are. It must be some sort of Italian insecurity.” He shrugged his shoulders, continuing to frown a bit. “I’m not interested in such things anyway.. it seems the only thing people want to do is marry others off for self gain only. A human shouldn’t be forced to do anything they don’t want.. it is inhumane, ridiculous and utterly grotesque to me.” He rested an elbow on the arm of the chair, then propped his head up by resting his chin on his hand.

As he watched the flames dance for a while, and listened to the crunching of the apple, he pondered if he could actually have an intellectual conversation with this brute. He wasn’t that much of a brute, really. Just... well, Kisaki didn’t know. He glanced over to the man sitting by him and blinked a few times. “You must like apples, huh..?” Kisaki had noted that earlier that evening at dinner Cristiano had eaten a nice crunchy apple right by his ear. Here he was again eating another apple as a midnight snack. And yet.. why had Kisaki remembered that? ’Ugh! You need to stop paying attention to this guy!’

“Or perhaps she doesn’t satiate that appetite you have,” he shrugged with a slight giggle to his words, though he showed no real interest in what he was saying on his face. In fact, Kisaki looked nearly ghost-like; barely there and fading, pale and with a hint of sadness. “It is a good thing that you two like each other though.. I wouldn’t enjoy being forced to marry another. Something about it doesn’t sit well with me. At least you two can.. tolerate each other.” Smooth Kisaki. Real smooth.

Cristiano sat back in his chair while Kisaki talked- Well, not really talked, more like tossed-in-insults about the women in Cristiano's country, but he smiled. Kisaki obviously didn't get out much if he had to insult the women on his homeland. "Our women are just fine, Kisaki. Maybe it's just You." Cristiano thought to himself.
Cristiano smiled as Kisaki went on to talk about his view on arranged marriages. Honestly, Cristiano felt the same way about that concept. . But Kisaki's family was in trouble, so his father said anyway. But Cristiano preferred to meet women the old fashioned way But, this beats sleeping with a random woman while he's deployed; He's got one waiting for him at home.
As he bit into his apple once more, Kisaki made an observation. Cristiano smiled and then swallowed the chewed up bits and replied, "That I do. . They're very good for you, so says my mother," He took another bite, chewed, and swallowed, "But I think she only told me that because I was always such a picky eater when I was younger." Cristiano took another bite, and as he chewed he noticed something. . For the first time since they met, they were actually getting along. . . Until Kisaki started in about his "appetite". Cristiano raised his eyebrow, but when he caught the girlish giggle from Kisaki he was no longer on the defensive."We tolerate each other mainly because we have to. That's all." And while he was making himself a little more comfortable, he kept talking, "Otherwise I know she can't stand me. Still, she's nice about it."
Cristiano bit into his nearly finished apple again, and chewed the pieces up. After chewing them up enough, he swallowed and then looked over at Kisaki, just waiting for him to say something snarky, but his thoughts stopped completely when he noticed something about Kisaki. . .
"In this kind of light, he looks like his sister. . . Good thing she's good-looking. . . . . Alright, I guess he's not so bad himself." He took the last bite of his apple, as it was now finished, and then tossed it into the fire.
