hai there :3 okies... ive been troubled and was wondering and its really stuck in my head D: .... could we really blame satan for our mistakes?... i mean weve been taught tht the mistakes YOUVE made is your fault cause YOU yourself made tht decision and choice to do it, but then a good point was made the it can be satans fault by "motivating you or some how couraging" you to choose the wrong decision...which still makes me confuzed... we ppl tht make mistakes or tht things bad happen cant always be satans fault right?... its your body and mind and you, yourself choose your decisions and for bad things happen... wasnt it bound to happen? sickness, ppl dieing from accidents and such? but if it were somthing like someone got killed by someone els maybe we can blame satan for tht...not sure but to the point, wat do you think?... can we really blame satan for most things tht we ppl do? im sry its troubling me and im just lost its like we are blaming someone who isnt at fault just cus we dont hv proof...

Blaming Satan for our actions has never been biblical. Satan can't tempt you if you have no interest in sinning/disobeying (i.e. Jesus; Satan tried tempting him, but Jesus had no interest in sinning, ergo he didn't fall for Satan's persuasions in Matthew 4:1-11). If you act on Satan's temptations, it's because you wanted to. Since the Garden, the point has always been: ignore what appeals to the eyes and the senses; rely on and listen to YHWH's instruction instead. Eve obeyed the flesh; she saw the fruit as pleasing to the eye and desirable and wanted to eat of it (Genesis 3:6) instead of relying on YHWH's instruction to avoid it. She didn't forget the command; she recalled his words, but ignored them. (Genesis 3:1-3).

It's like a sting operation: if you didn't want to sell yourself for sex (aka be a prostitute), you won't fall for the bait (the undercover cop dressed as a potential customer who "tricks" you). People know prostitution is illegal—against the law—yet they still do it. You can't blame the undercover cop for your desire to disobey. Ha-Satan is just doing his job. His role is painted clear in the Book of Job; Satan went to tempt Job with God's permission (Job 1:1-12).

Quote:
James 1:14-15 (NIV)

14 but each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed. 15 Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.

edit:

When people fail to love the truth (YHWH's words and instructions) they fall into traps; no one can be blamed but the individual, not God, not Satan:

Quote:
2 Thessalonians 2:9-12 (NIV)

9 The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with how Satan works. He will use all sorts of displays of power through signs and wonders that serve the lie, 10 and all the ways that wickedness deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. 11 For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie 12 and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness.

Blaming Satan for our own bad behaviour is nothing more than a cop-out by people who don't want to take responsibility for their own actions. It's true that the devil may tempt us to sin, but we have free will, and we need to stand up and take responsibility for our own actions, whether they're good or bad.

Satan isn't holding a gun to your head forcing you to choose a certain action.
You are responsible for how you act.
Blaming Satan is just a cop out, God gave you free will you either do the right thing or you don't.
