Asmo'koka was glad that the sun had only just began to grace the sky as he wandered out and away from the caves. The light of day was just now begining to chase away the night. He blinked his sleepy eyes and gave a soft groan. He didnt want to be up this early, and as such he was rather irritated that he hadnt been able to get back to sleep. The lion gave a shake of his body and grumbled with a stretch as he made his way out into the sands.
What was he doing? Well he didnt much know, seemed like maybe a walk would do him good though. Perhaps once the sleep was out of his head he would consider looking around for some food, he was a hunter after all and everyone had to do their part. He had been raised under the strict paw of his mother, and even though he was groggy with sleep, his mind was tuned to what was around him. The small tracks of a burrowing animal, the slithering tracks of a snake, the screetching cry of a bird of prey far off in the distance. And, added to the landscape, his paw prints, faded though they where on the dry soil. Nothing prey like was going to be so close to the caves anyway. Still...

Houri was always up early and very dedicated to her training as a solider. after all it was her plan to become one of the best and show her father that she should be the favored out of her siblings. she hated how her father favored her one and only brother. still a bit groggy from walking up, she gave a big loud yawn as she walked towards the training grounds area to do her morning routine or stretching and sparing. though unlike Asmo'koka, she wasn't very aware of her surroundings as she kept yawning and had wanted to go back to sleep but she wanted to keep up her daily routine.

Asmo heard the yawning first before the soft padfalls on the sad reached his ears. Quirking a brow he turned his head to peer at the sleepy female. She looked about how he felt, which he found rather funny. With a flick of his tail he watched her as she approached. "Someone is up early, normally I dont see many out this early." He said, making general conversation.

Houri was quick to snap to attention when she heard the male's voice. she eyed him for a moment and sized him up before she spoke. " i'm usually always up around this time. i have a routine i keep to so i don't lose my edge. after all i'am a soldier." it was clear she was pretty uptight as she now raised a brow at him and kept eyeing him. "what are you up at this hour for?" she rarely ever found anyone up as early as her besides her father and uncle. tail flicking, she now had forgotten all about her daily routine as she talked to this male.

Ah, a soldier, like his mother. He nodded a little at her causing his black mane to bristle lightly as he moved. That explained alot really. Curling his tail around his haunches he listened quietly while she spoke. When she finished, and her gaze turned towards him again his animated face was a mask of indifference. Her raised eyebrow and look of suspicion painted her as a rather uptight solider.
"Me? Couldn't sleep so I thought I might as well get my lazy bones out for a walk. " He rolled his shoulders lightly in a shrug and glanced out towards the hunting grounds. "Thought I might wander out and see if any game was around. Thats what hunters do, right?" he smirked a little bit and gave a yawn, clearly not entirely awake yet.

Houri gave a small yawn as she was still waking up herself. " well mister lazy bones would you care to walk while we talk? i feel as if i will fall asleep if i stay in once spot very long." she also suddenly realized she had been a bit rude by not introducing herself to the male. " and i guess we should probably properly introduce each other. I'am Houri." oh how her father would of hit her softly upside the head for forgetting her manners. though it was rather early but that was no excuse at lest to her father it wouldn't have been. shaking her head, she gave a small chuckle at herself for how awkward she felt at the current moment. it seemed she needed way better social skills when it came to having a normal conversation.

Asmo nodded again and rolled his shoulders, managing to stretch out a little bit before he stood up. It would probably do him well to go for a walk before the suns heat began to skorch the sands. It already was threatening them from its place on the horizon, and once it was in the sky it wouldnt take long. With a swish of his tail he nodded. "A walk would be good I think, and Im Asmo'koka. Pardon my brutish manners for not properly introducing myself before." He said.
He walked along beside the red female, "so you mentioned you are a Solider? must have worked hard at it. " he said, trying to make some general conversation so they wern't walking in awkward silence.

" i probably could of had better manners since i was the one intruding on you." Houri gave a laugh of amusement when he talked of her being a soldier and working hard at it. " some might say i work a bit too hard at it. but they just don't my reason for it." she never hid the fact that she worked really hard. but she tried to not advertise that her only reason for being a solider and working so hard was because of the fact she wanted to be the favorite over her brother when it came to their father. " i take it from your words earlier, that your a hunter?"

The male nodded his head as she confirmed his role. "Yes, Im a hunter. Someone has to do it after all. I sort of slacked off when I was younger and didnt drive myself to constantly go to drills. One of my fondest memories was when my mother was teaching me to read the signs of the land, tracks, tell where an animal had been. Just really listen, you know? Of course as a Solider herself Im sure she wanted more out of me than just being a hunter, an probably was helping to teach me to just pay attention to my surroundings more so I didnt wind up in an ambush, or to track other lions who might be on our borders."
He knew for a fact she did, and yet some part of him wasnt entirely happy with it either. Counting the herds could get a little boring over time after all but he wasnt sure if the daily drills and strict discipline of the soldier of guard would have suited him any better. "
