I got married last summer. My hubby is from the UK and our plan was for me to move there. We applied for a visa and for technical reasons our application was denied. We appealed and the appeal is now going to court in late April. I haven't seen my hubby in six months and I'm tired of being the the USA. =( I just want to get on with my life already instead of being stuck in limbo living with friends and family waiting to move home with my hubby. =(
Woe is me.
Kay ~ complaint over, lol.

The pain is familiar, friend. Just hold on, it'll sort itself out. -Nodnod-

I was relieved, upon clicking, to find out that this wasn't a thread posted by some idiot who was certain that Obama was going to take away his guns.

Matasoga I was relieved, upon clicking, to find out that this wasn't a thread posted by some idiot who was certain that Obama was going to take away his guns. LOL! But on that note, do you think he's going to take away my guns personally? I don't own any but I'd like to meet the president. I'd buy one if he was going to take it a way himself. Or borrow someone else's.

Or borrow someone else's. Getting to meet the president personally? That would get me to go out and buy a gun, if it was the only way to do so. No ammunition, of course. I'd ask him to move LBGT equality forward a bit more quickly... And ask him what on Earth he could possibly have been thinking to give Congress a raise.

I'm happy that he at the very least voiced an opinion on the matter (and the right opinion too). wink Looks like first step marriage, second step not getting fired for being gay. A bit backwards but meh. As long as we get there. Also, do you think he could authorize a raise for me??

But really, I think I'd rather get a job where I don't need to have anything to show for my having done it and I'm grossly overpaid for doing it (or doing nothing)... But I can't remember if Congress members are appointed or elected.

They're elected to represent the fifty states, but appointed into the various committees that tackle different parts of Congress's responsibilities, I believe.

Let me know if you know anyone who is hiring for that. I'd prefer it be a job I have to travel a lot with, kay? I only speak three languages but if they'd pay me to learn more, I'd appreciate it. And they're elected by the way. Each state gets 2 senators and has a varying number of representatives based on population I believe.
