Winter was passing, but fading slowly. The nights still held a bitter chill and only the bravest plants were showing shoots or buds, yet the promise of spring warmed the mornings and gave hope to those who braved the cold winds.
It was one of these sunny late mornings that found a small grey and purple kitten taking her first careful steps on the cool ground of Okugi Park. One of her humans was sat on a bench, watching carefully, but letting her adjust to her surroundings, the newness of it all, the sounds, the sights, the smells.
Her ears and nose were going in overtime; her wide purple eyes trying to drink in everything in sight. Narahli was not afraid, but the newness of it all did render her wary and unsure, and it was with great care that she took small step after small step on the fine gravel around this particular bench, heading towards the still-damp grass.

Jisik nodded as his owner said that she would be on the bench when he was ready to go. The weather was warm enough that the could finally get back to their routine of walking to the park and then he would wander and explore while his owner would curl up on a bench and read.
The neko wandered around inspecting the shoots and buds of the plants that had decided to brave the colds weather. He hoped that a snow storm wouldn't come in and kill them.
His wanderings brought the dark purple neko closer to Narahli and her owner. The long tailed neko did not notice the kitten as he contined his exploration, his paws where damp from the grass he was walking on.

Narahli's eyes were caught by a nearby furred being; much larger, and much darker, than she. Dark with markings a similar colour to her own, she stared at the adult; before staring at her own lighter fur. Were they the same? This, this was no human- and she was no human either. Could it be another like her, but bigger, more sure?
She mimicked his confident footsteps now; each with a small pause before she took the step as she adjusted to the gravel, but no longer was each step small and measured, and now she was definitely heading to the grass.
It tickled her short legs as she stepped onto it; and she let out a mew of surprise at the damp coolness under her paw pads. Still, she continued to mimic the other; confident steps, slower now, determined to look around, to sniff, as if she belonged and as if she knew what she was looking at, what scents and sounds she was catching. She let out unconscious little mewls as she did so; and she looked to the other occasionally, although not meaning to, but wanting to see if she was doing it right- and if she had been noticed.

Jisik looked up form his exploration as he heard a mewing noise. Was there a kitten around? Sure enough he spotted a tiny light purple and gray kitten as he looked around for the sources of the noise.
He watched the other for a few moments before he moved closer to the kitten as she continued to mewl, he wasn't sure if she was lost or just exploring like he was. Looking around more he noticed a person not far from them on a bench, the human seemed to be watching her so it seemed unlikely that she was lost. He walked slowly so that he wouldn't startle the small neko.
"Hello, I'm Jisik" He called out softly to the kitten once he was closer to her.

Narahli stared at the dark furry being as it made noise at her. The noises were similar to the ones her two-legged friends made at her; deeper, warmer, more solid, although she didn't know why. But it was making noises which were similar, and she cocked her head to one side, trying to understand. It looked very different to them- similar noises or not, it couldn't be the same as them, right?
She looked down at her light grey paws; then at the larger, darker ones of the other. No, if anything, it looked more like her. It smelled good too; sort of... familiar, even though she'd never smelled that particular smell before, she was sure of it.
She didn't know what the noises made at her meant; but she was used to them being used to communicate, so she took it to mean the same. Standing as tall as her tiny frame would allow, tail held high, she was determined to communicate in kind; and opened her mouth to let out a series of tiny meows.
That didn't sound the same at all. The fur on her tiny round face wrinkled in slight confusion and she tried again; letting out another series of tiny kitten mews. Realising that was all she could do, she didn't worry about making the same noises; and beamed at the big one, pleased to be communicating with it.

Jisik smiled as h watched the kitten tilted her head and try to figure out what he was saying, he had not been around many kittens so he didn't realize she would have difficultly speaking. He could help but smile as the kitten meowed it him and seemed confused at the noises she had made.
His long tail swished be hind him as he laid down on the grass so that they would be closer in hight. He beamed back at her and let out a few soft meows of his own.
He wonder what the her name was but it was likely he wouldn't be able to find out if she couldn't speak or understand him. It was all right though, you don't learn the name of everyone you met after all sometimes people forget to introduce them selves.

Thrilled at the returning meows, Narahli's tiny face lit up. The big one was making noises just like hers! They sounded the same!
Overjoyed, she hopped in place, letting out noisy, happy mewlings before she skipped in a circle around the other, making the noise as she went. So happy and bouncy, she wasn't looking where she was going or thinking of the still-damp grass... until it betrayed her footing and she slipped, going nose over tail and ending up sprawled in the grass near the front of her new, large "conversation" companion.
She blinked, taking a few moments to process what had happened. She had been skipping and hopping, and then... Then her paws weren't obeying her, and she was tumbling. And now she was here. And the grass- the grass looked different from this angle! Some bits of it looked much taller than when she was standing up. She reached out a paw, and batted at one of the long blades; intrigued to see it bend only to spring back into shape, she batted at another, and let out a joyful little noise when it did the exact same thing.

Jisik smiled as he watched the kitten, she was an adorable ball of energy. He hoped she wasn't heart when she fell and he let out a concerned mew. He laughed a bit when she started to attack and bat at the blades of grass. He was glad that it look like she was hurt.
His long tail swished back and forth as he stuck out a paw and batted the grass with the young neko. The grass sprung up again after he hit it, he waited before he hit the grass again, hoping to make a game of it with her.
