Otto was finally out of the infirmary. He felt at least 90% better, even if he was favoring one ankle as he walked out. Now that he had his freedom, there were a few things he wanted to do, but also some things he needed to do.
Like give Nevada an answer to her question.
The teen tapped away at his phone, calling out the brunette to meet with him.

Nevada had been nervous since her talk with Eva, and with being a boy for a short while, she had even been even more nervous.
When the effects had not been serious, nor peramant, the mist girl had been finally transformed back and would really rather not think about her time as a extra male.
She was surprised when she saw the text message from Otto, partly because she didn't expect it. Because they had told her a week for him to recover intensevily and then he'd be able to get around.
haha, A week. She didn't know how or what to do during that time.
"Otto?" She had made her way to the place he wanted to talk, and what she saw almost hurt her heart. He looked better, he really did. But there was still the remanants of damage. Cuts here and there....was he walking a little more slowly?
"I...." She wanted to reach out and crush him in a hug, but her hands curled at her side instead. "I'm so glad to see you well Handsome."

Otto looked up to find a very hesitant and nervous Nevada. He managed a wry half smile before it faded as usual. "Well enough to be outta there, anyway." And that was well enough for him. He missed his own bed, his own room, his own everything.
That was enough pleasantries for him now. He preferred ripping off bandaids rather that scratching at them. The southern boy slipped his hands into his pockets, lightly fidgeting with the fabric within. "I'm in love with someone else." He said it right off the bat, the worst part over and done. "I really like ya, Nevada. Don't get me wrong. It ain't got nuthin' to do with me not likin' you." In fact, if he'd met her first, then maybe things might have been different. But the reality was that his heart belonged to Eva, and he finally had hers in return.
"But... thanks. What ya said back there? It really made me feel good."

Ouch. She stared at him, violet eyes widening a little. She had set herself up for this, she had known down in her little woman's heart that there was other possible outcomes. That he wouldn't fall at her feet because she might've been the first to confess to him.
But it still hurt to hear it put so bluntly, the very trait she admired about the boy was one she hated right now. And still adored at the same time.
Instead she took a deep breath, looking at him straight. Because no matter what they had, or what happened...She valued him too much to actually lose him. If not a lover, they could be friends.
"She's a lucky girl..." Nevada's thoughts slammed with the face of Eva in the hospital room. Did he confess to her and it had been more then sister/brother love he often hated?? Did it matter now? Not really.
"I can't quite tell if I want to punch you because of this, or because you almost got yourself killed or because I might be just a little upset." She smiled at him, to let him know she was joking. nerves melted away as she came to stand closer to him and reached out, ruffling his hair.
"Rejection hurts, but I'm not one to sway feelings. If your heart belongs to her, then I never really had a hold on it anyways. Instead, I still want to be friends with you if it's possible..." She smiled even wider, "Gave you a proper kick in the a** did I to go get you girl? Again can't tell if I should be upset about it or be happy?"
She'd cry later, when she was alone. Right now Otto needed friendship. And smiles. She was happy for him, truly happy that he in turn was happy. Even if it wasn't for her.

Otto flinched. He sure didn't want to get punched. Not on a good day, and surely not now. His face would never heal if he got hurt again so soon. Luckily, she seemed to be kidding. Mostly.
Otto was blunt as a hammer. But it didn't mean he was dull in the head. He knew his sharp tongue and straight forward approach could hurt people. Sometimes that just had to happen. It just sucked it had to happen to a nice girl like Nevada. She was, after all, the first girl in Deus to make him feel like a real guy.
"Yeah, I don't see no reason why not." He did have fun with her after all. She was a friend.
"Be happy, I guess? Bein' upset about it won't change nuthin'. B'sides.. it was your balls of steel that kicked me in the a**. I'd of been hummin' n' hawin' forever if ya didn't."

"Good, if Eva makes you cry then, you can come to me and I will comfort you." She joked and teased him, "It is Eva right? I uhm...I met her in the hospital room and we talked. Its hard to be upset at being rejected when she's such a nice girl."
Wasn't that just the kicker, she should be upset....she really should be. But why? Eva had been so nice, and Otto was happy. How could she be upset when faced with that?
"I guess I will." Her smiled turned into a laugh and she shook her head. "I just sped you up. Plus, given time...You wouldn't have stood a chance against my charm." She winked, flipping her long hair over her shoulder. "I guess this helps me too though....I owe someone here on the Island a proper response as well...." She hummed. "Or I owe him more then what I was giving him." Thoughts of Roland and how she had left him hanging at friends seemed to nag her. It seemed everything seemed to nag her.
"Also, next time you go on haunted house duty, I want to go with you." She gave a sharp turn of her head. "Not because I'm after looking after you...I mean I am but....I want to find that creature. The one who hurt you." it was almost scary how dark her face had gotten. She had no real reason to hate the halloween creatures, besides the job. "hell hath no fury like a woman's."
But this gave her all the more reason to hunt it down and kill it over, as painfully as possible and as soon as possible.

Otto smiled softly, a faint and brief smile. "Yeah, its Eva." He wanted to say he was sure she'd never make him cry, but he didn't want to jinx it. Maybe she'd never do it on purpose, but life happens. Even if it took a lot to make Otto cry.
"She is nice. Really nice." It made him feel like he was really special to have a girlfriend like that. He was a blunt, rude and negative punk. She was a sweet, silly and honest woman. But maybe opposites really did attract. And maybe it was all those things that would wash away his sharp edges.
Given time he may just had been won over by Nevada's charms. Her sassy hair flip and confident big talk earned a smirk from Otto. She seemed to be taking it okay, after all. As far as he could see. Simple as that, right? It surprised him there had been someone waiting for an answer from her too. Did that mean some sort of chain reaction had started? Had Eva's acceptance of his confession killed the chain of confessions? "Get on it, gurl." He teased lightly. "Ain't polite to keep anyone waitin'."
"I'd rather no one go up against that thing. I mean.. maybe if we tag teamed it. If I ever run into it again I think I'd just warp out. I never wanna experience that again.." The mere reminder had a chill run down to his core.

Nevada nodded and tried to hide the sigh. Again, hard to be mad when it was such a nice girl. Plus with Otto being so happy...
Eventually though her own niceness was going to run out and she was feeling the dangerous verge of tears prickling at her eyes. God being a woman sucked, she'd give another day to turn back into bishounen Nevada.
"I will I will~ It's just hard for me....coming back from liking you so much you know?" She hesitated, "I don't want to give him a answer based off what I'm feeling now, not even sure If I want to give him something to hope for. maybe....Maybe I'll wait." She gnawed at her lip...which quickly turned into a sharp turn of her head and stopping in front of the boy.
"Okay you're not going to like this but....If you go to the haunted house, take both me and Eva okay? I might be a trainee but I'm still a mist huntress and I'll do whatever I can to protect you." She flushed, "er...because...we're friends and um..." She just shook her head. "I think it's time for me to go back to my room and nap. With all the worry, I haven't even got my proper 14 hours of sleep." Also she was starting to break from all the emotions.
Secretly she wondered if she could find someones stash of alcohol, hole herself in her room again and drown the sorrows away. Only thing that would make it better would be country music and a stormy night.

Otto's gaze flicked down for a moment. True enough. If she went to Roland now, it would be her heightened emotions talking, not her true feelings. There would be a bias. A small amount of guilt started trickling into Otto's heart, a grimace pulling at his lips. He didn't want to know the feeling of being rejected. He was lucky not to know it yet.
He looked up again as she faced him, furrowing his brows seriously at her request. "Okay, fine. Power in numbers." He relented, since he never wanted to go back there alone. "But if we ever did run into that thing? I seriously think it'd be best to GTFO."
Fourteen hours of sleep? He was going to scold her for it, but he'd been guilty of it before Deus. Teenagers love sleep.
He had a slight nagging feeling that she wouldn't be napping though.
"Sure. Uh... sleep tight?"

"Did you really just say G..T..F..O." Nevada laughed and nodded her head. "Okay, if we meet it, I'm going to land one serious hit on it and then we can get the ******** out of Kansas, Toto." She reached over and squeezed his shoulder.
Skipping a few steps she offered another smile and nodded.
"I'll see you around Otto!" She waved and sped walk herself away. It wasn't till she rounded the corner that she felt small trickles of tears.
"Stupid stupid stupid. You shouldn't be crying because of rejection." Nevada wiped the tears, and ran past a couple of hunters, right into her room where she slammed the door shut and slid down it.
Curling herself up, she just shook her head. "Augh i'm so stupid!" She sobbed and just let the tears fall.
