T'rel had looked forward to to spending a day with Z'iv for what seemed like sevendays--even if he had only come up with the idea a day or so ago. He had invited Z'iv to meet him up by the hot springs. Relaxation, that was what they needed after that hatching. He doubted very much that anyone had gotten sleep during the days those eggs had been missing. Even after--long after, surely the benefits of spending time with a good friend would counteract troubles!
Do you see them, Lunath?
No. Mine, do you think Zetath will play with me? He will, won't he? Oooh! The water is nice here. Are you going to go in? Why is it warm? Isn't the lake a better idea? You could swim in a lake. It will be nice. You will like it. The green nosed at the spring skeptically, sticking her snout into the water. Are you sure this is safe? Oooh! It bubbled!
That's what happens when you try to breathe underwater, T'rel grinned at his green. "Keep an eye out for Z'iv and Zetath, hm?"

Z'iv as a matter of fact had been sleeping fine. It wasn't that he hadn't cared, he'd just known that there wasn't anything he could do that wasn't already being done. Pessimist that he was he was used to expecting the worst anyway, and bad things happening (that didn't directly threaten him) were water off a wher's back.
He was however looking forward to the chance to relax with T'rel; things had been hectic recently, and while he'd been sleeping okay he had not been immune to the tense atmosphere that had surrounded the theft of the eggs. It wasn't gone now, either; a brown had joined the wherholders, and the gold still remained where she had Impressed at a small Hold by all accounts.
Zetath complained as his rider climbed onto his back and strapped himself into the harness.
Z'iv replied unfazed by the black grumbles; he was used to them.
Zetath snorted, leapt forward and vanished between.
They reappeared mere moments later, the black dragon's gift for where allowing him to come back out of the void mere feet from the ground; he landed lightly on the edge of one of the steaming pools without a single flap of his wings.
Unstrapping himself again Z'iv jumped quickly to the ground, waving as he spotted T'rel. "Hey Sweetheart," he smiled, "hope we didn't keep you waiting too long, I couldn't find my shorts. Got them now though, so I don't have to go skinny dipping."

"Oh no, you're right on time," T'rel assured Z'iv with a smile. They hadn't been there long, and Lunath's antics had caused enough of a distraction. "Lunath's been busy," he added, gesturing to the green. "Sticking her nose into the springs," he explained with a grin. "She's never seen them before. She doesn't seem to trust them much." Lunath flicked her tail in greeting, instead directing her attention at Zetath.
Zetath, come see! Did you know the water is hot? I told mine to swim in the lake instead, but he won't. Do you think this is safe? Come here! Put your snout in, the water will bubble. It is interesting. Will you play with me? Ah, the benefits of a dragon-memory. Lunath couldn't remember if Zetath had ever rejected her offers to play; but she couldn't remember if he'd ever accepted them, either. It was an experiment, every time!
"Depriving onlookers of your good looks?" T'rel teased his friend, pulling his riding gear off. "I'm sure any women present will be disappointed."

"Not even fashionably late? I'm losing my touch. As for deprivation, well, I wouldn't want to cause anyone peeking on us to faint into one of the pools," Z'iv drawled with a lazy grin, balancing first on one foot and then then other in order to pull off his boots as he spoke. Once he'd removed and folded his shirt and had thus left a pause for effect he added; "Though I do need to find time to even out my tan sometime. If I'm not careful I'll end up with a line."
Zetath gave Lunath a look of distilled disdain. Hissing and flicking his tail the black moved towards his rider, demanding silently that he remove the flying harness. he added as Z'iv turned to him and started to undo the black leather straps.

"Ah, being late's gone out of season," T'rel grinned at his friend. "It must be instinct," he added. "You do seem a fashionable fellow." He pulled off his tunic, mussing up his hair as he did so. He cast it aside. "Lines are never attractive," he agreed, rather solomnly before cracking another grin. "You never know when they'll show themselves. Like unwanted guests."
Oooh, you got up on the wrong side of the weyr this morning, Lunath observed the black's mood with a snort. That just means you need to play even more than I had thought! Come, Zetath. Yours will swim with mine, and we will swim together. His mood didn't matter; Lunath figured. They would find something to do! Surely there was something Zetath would be willing to participate in?
Zetath, let's swim! And we can play! You can chase me!
