Alright, now that I'm in uber creativity mode, here are my suggestions:
Well, first off, each faction should have a capital, as well as other areas of interest, such as a bar, pub, inn, hospital perhaps, whatever. We can go in more detail when we both have the time to discuss. Also, some sort of headquarters for each factions organization would prove useful as well. (For example, an Aes military base in aes, or an Agency headquarters thread in Thesaurum Oppidum) And a thread made for meetings of the Council in Lucidus Magus would be cool too.
The Agency will also have a safehouse in each faction, a base of operations, since future guild members that decide they want to be in the Agency will be assigned and stationed in whichever faction Benjamin Black sees fit. (I may make certain rules as to who is capable of joining the agency, for reason's I will discuss later. Needless to say, applicants will have to get my approval to be part of the Agency, since the Agency is somewhat of an OP faction. Cant have just anyone running around thinking they are Jason Bourne now can we? lol)
Anywho, I am thinking that it may be a good idea to make a sticky in each factions sub forum solely for the purpose of profile placement and organization. Also, if we have each member repost their profile into these stickies, It will be easier for newer members to associate each character with the avatar of the person who created it. In my experience with Guild RP's that grew substantially large, it was easier to associate the character with the Avatar to remember who it was they were RPing with. Just a suggestion, and we can also discuss that in more depth at a later time as well.
I am thinking that something related to inter-faction travel may be useful as well. Instead of having characters RP that they are traveling by airship (for instance) to other factions in the same thread that everyone is RPing in at a party, it may be a good idea to create a separate thread, like an airport or something similar, to make things less cluttered. Just another idea.
As far as locations go, thats about it for now. I may try to start thinking of names for each capital, but if you want that honor then I wont object, considering this entire RP is your creation after all. razz
I also think moving the description of each sub faction, i.e., Aes Military, Ater Nox Syndicate, etc.., into the guild itself, rather than have a link to a thread in barton that has a description would be a good idea. I also think a written description of what each sub faction is like, and what their motives and goals are, would be useful as well, especially to new recruits who are curious about what each faction has to offer in terms of organizations and groups. I noticed that Honeybear made an interesting list of what kind of artillery each military sub faction possesses as well as a ranking system, which was impressive and very creative, but a written description will be necessary, I think, when new members join and start wondering which factions 'sub faction' would appeal to them the most.
And it may be a good idea to think of "classes" that new applicants can choose from during character profile creation. For instance, if they decide they want to be in the Lucidus Magus faction, they have the option of choosing to be a knight, or a mage, or s doctor, or something like that. I know you want creative freedom for new applicants, but this may help distinguish what makes sense for a character to be in each faction. Like, it would be out of place for someone to be a Dark Mage that is from Aes, a military faction. you know? idk, I probably provided a bad example, but I'm just looking for organization, and its what I am personally used to.
Also! not to be nit picky, but I believe calling the Aes Military, Novum Fulgar Military, Ater Nox Syndicate, and Lucidus Magus Knight Council "Factions" will confuse new members. I believe this because the first time i took a look into this guild, i was slightly confused on what to call these groups, since the factions in the RP are the 'countries' so to speak. Calling these groups "Organizations" or something similar might suit them better.
I suppose thats the end of my two cents for the morning. Let me know what you think of all this when you get a chance. Rather than PM you about it, I figured this would be easier, and it would allow other members to put in their two cents on my ideas as well.

Val, I'm not doing this to pick on you—I'm just doing it as a way of expanding on what you already said with my own thoughts. ♥ Valyrian Steel Alright, now that I'm in uber creativity mode, here are my suggestions: Well, first off, each faction should have a capital, as well as other areas of interest, such as a bar, pub, inn, hospital perhaps, whatever. Hey, I can be a part of this discussion, too, I hope. gonk lol Anyway, I think those are all good ideas. People will RP in bars and inns pretty easily if they just want their character hang out; I think the organization theads are going to involve a bit more work, though. It makes sense that we should establish what those threads are to be used for. They're not walk-in threads where anyone who's anyone can stroll in, but designated for those who are directly involved with said organizations. We wouldn't want a character going into a place within the RP where they really have no way of entering. xD Quote: The Agency will also have a safehouse in each faction, a base of operations, since future guild members that decide they want to be in the Agency will be assigned and stationed in whichever faction Benjamin Black sees fit. Cant have just anyone running around thinking they are Jason Bourne now can we? lol) Fair enough, I think. It's a bit unreasonable to assume that a highly organized, black market, anarchy group would just accept anyone. Let's see what Izzy has to say about it, or someone else. Quote: Anywho, I am thinking that it may be a good idea to make a sticky in each factions sub forum solely for the purpose of profile placement and organization. Just a suggestion, and we can also discuss that in more depth at a later time as well. I've seen this done before, but not very often. Though, I do get your point, and it makes sense. We just give them a skeleton to use and have them post the profiles themselves in the right thread. Quote: I am thinking that something related to inter-faction travel may be useful as well. Instead of having characters RP that they are traveling by airship (for instance) to other factions in the same thread that everyone is RPing in at a party, it may be a good idea to create a separate thread, like an airport or something similar, to make things less cluttered. Just another idea. IMMHO, I don't think it's entirely necessary. I guess this would be a more prominent issue if people were RPing as though they were traveling a long distance and mingling with people on airships and such. That hasn't happened yet, and I'm not sure if it will happen. At the same time, if people really want to RP that kind of stuff, we can make a thread for it. *shrug* Quote: As far as locations go, thats about it for now. I may try to start thinking of names for each capital, but if you want that honor then I wont object, considering this entire RP is your creation after all. razz I think it may be fairer to allow those RPing the leaders to choose the names of their faction's capitol. Quote: I also think moving the description of each sub faction, i.e., Aes Military, Ater Nox Syndicate, etc.., into the guild itself, rather than have a link to a thread in barton that has a description would be a good idea. I agree that the sub factions need to be moved into the guild at this point, and that giving them descriptions with be beneficial for all RPers, especially newer ones. I think creating classes will also help give everyone a general guideline; like Val said, it wouldn't make much sense if people started making characters that have skills which have no real correlation to the factions they were born and raised in. Of course, creating classes calls for so much brainstorming because we need to find a balance, lest we start having people make characters one or two factions more often than the others. And that's it. ♥ Yaaaay.

Be careful you don't get carried away creating posts that may lie empty but for two or three replies. There are easier ways of defining where one's character(s) are by providing an info header at the beginning of your post. (see my posts in Lucidus Magus) You can still create the feeling of distance from other characters but they can still follow what your character is doing without having to hunt through sub-forums to find them
