Sebastian had just become a father to two beautiful bowls. His older brother brought a random girl home from his daily walk and helped her move in. His parents were screaming about having more children as he was trying to help his own go to sleep. Things were becoming more and more chaotic for the usually boisterous noodle, and for once in his life...
He wanted to escape from it all.
"Beach, beach, glooorioooous beeeaaach!" He sang as he traipsed along the shore line of the local beach. It was a cool, sunny evening, and the water was still gently kissed by the glowing rays of the sun. The cool air was calming for Sebastian and the landscape certainly helped him relax away his troubles. He had been too cooped up, too drunk, too busy, too crazy, for too long. He gazed out on the water and heaved a contented sigh, allowing his nerves to filter out with his exhalation. "This is... Nice..." He muttered. "Maybe I could sneak out here more often..."

Momo hadn't been nearly as happy. Not only had he been taken in by a land dweller in the most shameful way possible, but he was convinced that something dark lurked behind the large stone rolled over the cave, which was hidden amidst the rocks at the water's edge. It consumed his every waking hour. He'd driven his children away from him and the cave, convinced it was the best thing for them.
When he heard the voice of another Noodle coming, he braced himself to defend the cave, looking all around to try and see who this intruder was. He was sure that this far down the beach was far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the more familliar sandy shallows. So what was he doing here? He spotted him and hissed in warning, fins flaring to try and warn the other male off.

A sudden hissing noise startled Sebastian away from his calmed state. He shrieked, jumped two feet in the air and huddled into a ball, all in a mere blink of an eye. He didn't know what had made that noise, but it didn't sound happy, and scardey cat defenses nulled his curiosity. The massive fluff ball that was Sebastian remained in defensive mode for a few minutes before two shaken red eyes peered out from beneath the massive tail covering them and peered around. Nothing had come to kill him! That was good! Now he could go back to being happy! He rolled back out of his ball and continued down the shoreline.
That was when he noticed a pile of rocks at the water's edge, and a childish grin emerged upon his features. He would climb that. He would climb that forever.
"ROCK PIIILEEEE!" He squealed, not even noticing a hole in the middle of the pile. He assumed a rather proud stance and clamored upon the rocks, staring out upon the ocean again with a mock serious expression. "I AM COPERNICUS! THIS. IS. SPARTAAAAAAAAAA!"

Momo didn't know what to make of the other Noodle. Most people - when he hissed, would run away in fear. He would just have to do things the hard way. Risk a fight with a Noodle that was most def bigger than him, and who had an advantage, being not slippery all over. He made his presence known and hissed at the other noodle again - a final warning. "Go! Away from here!" he said, in a very heavily accented English. He was very Japanese, and he didn't speak much anymore, so it was hard for him to come up with even those words.
"Away from here, or I bite!" he said, and showed his teeth. Hopefully, this would work. "Cave evil - stay away from here!"

"KEEEEEYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" Sebastian cried. He froze solid and stared at Momo, petrified from all aspects. This strange fish-noodle was not only speaking awkwardly, ready to attack and hissing, but he called him evil! Unable to process why he was being yelled at or why the other noodle was so angry, he did the only thing he felt was natural, and began to cry. "DON'T KILL ME! PLEASE!" He sobbed. "I just wanted to play on the rocks!"

Momo relented a little when he began to cry, kindof feeling bad now. He didn't know why the other hadn't run away yet, but he sure wasn't going to kill him. "I not kill you. Just try to scare away from cave." he said, and then sighed. "The Cave is evil. There is something inside that is evil. I have to keep people away from the cave." he said, stringing longer sentences now that he was getting used to talking again.
He nosed the bigger male and tried to nudge him away. "You should... You should go now."

Seb had turned all shades of pale and his eyes hadn't moved from Momo's face. Muscles tightened, teeth clenched, and fur stood on end as Momo nudged him, making it clear that he had no intention of budging from his spot. He was terrified of the other noodle, but a faint curiosity pierced its way through the fear that held his mind. This guy was afraid of "evil" in his cave and wanted to keep him away from the cave. But... If the cave was evil... Why would this noodle still live in the cave? Ears popped up slightly as he pondered the idea and part of him relaxed. This was very strange. He glanced to the cave and back to Momo again, tilting his head.
"You're afraid of something inside of the cave that you live in...?" He asked, his voice a soft, awkward mutter. "...Why would you stay in a place that you fear will hurt you or someone else...?"

Momo answered without hesitation. "Because I would rather that the thing behind the rock hurt me than hurt anyone else. I drove away my children and my former mate to keep them safe..." he said, and then sighed. He'd never had to explain it to anyone out loud before and he had to admit that outside of his head, the notion did seem very crazy. "I am not crazy - there really is something there. Come - I will show you." he said, and turned tail, taking off into the cave.

Seb, though still slightly scared, hustled after Momo, not wanting to be left alone outside the cave. He stared at the other male, carefully studying his every feature just in case he got attacked and need to provide details on his attacker. But, as Momo explained how far he had gone to guard the cave, Sebastian's heart overflowed with emotion.
"How could you drive away your only family for a stupid cave?!" He exclaimed. His demeanor shifted into that of frustration as he took a good look around the cave and he glared back at Momo in disbelief. "THIS IS A ******** CAVE, MAN! You had a lover and kids! What is wrong with you?! If either of my fathers had kicked me out and went to guard a dark, dank, wet hole carved into the middle of a ******** bolder, I would've gone right back up to him and beat the ever living sense back into him!" Then he did something bold and moved right in front of Momo, staring straight into his eyes. "I don't give a damn about this "evil", you're just a dead beat dad!" He sat on his rump again and heaved a sigh. "...Ugh. I would feel so guilty if I ever did something so stupid. My kids are my life, no matter how they were made!"

"She was a land dweller, and she moved on very quickly after our children were born. I was nothing to her. It was a freindship that went too far and then crumbled. My daughter, she could never understand about this place where they were raised, but my son... He felt it too. He heard the voice on the other side of the stone. I do no care what you say. If you heard that voice, and the way it speaks of blood, you would not want your family here either." Momo said, and then looked ashamed, tears coming to his eyes. "They tried to be kind to me, but I pushed them away. I would rather see them unhappy than dead."

Sebastian shook his head and took a deep breath. This guy had been through quite a ride, hadn't he? Red eyes gazed upon Momo with compassion and they widened slightly when he saw the tears coming from his eyes. He had upset him! That wasn't part of the plan! ... Was there ever a plan? He didn't know, or even care, but all he knew was that he had to make the other noodle feel better. This guy needed someone to be his friend and get him away from whatever was trying hurt him, and Seb was prepared to help him out. He rose to his feet again and simply tugged Momo gently out of the cave by his collar.
"Look, I know I'm a "land dweller" or whatever, but you can't stay hiding here forever." He said, leading Momo away from the rock pile. "I can't stand to see someone hurt themselves, and that's all you seem to be doing. It's unfortunate that you had to go this far to protect your family, but that doesn't mean you need to suffer any longer." He paused when they were about fifty feet away from the cave and let Momo go, offering him a weak smile. "I may have just dragged you away from something you want to protect, but think about it. That place caused you to lose your chance of having a family! I mean, who cares about the b***h that left you, she's only one of many "land dwellers" out here. We're not all bad, just like not all aquatics are bad!" He paused again and motioned towards the cave. "Look at that rock pile. You lived your life in fear of something that lived in there. If you leave that place and live out here again, you have nothing to fear. It's that simple."

"But... That's been my home for as long as I can remember...." he said and looked back at it, unsure of what to do now that he was out. "And it's never been about me. I stay there so that I can warn other noodles away from that hole. It has nothing to do with me protecting the cave - it's all about protecting other noodles from what is IN that cave" he explained. "If I leave there... others might be hurt. And I can't stand that thought."
He finally just wavered with indecision. The sun felt nice on his skin, and he saw the sense in what the other male was saying... "I... I suppose I could leave it though... Just for a little while..."

Sebastian smiled at Momo, pleased that the other noodle had chosen to leave the cave, if only for a short time. He took a moment to gaze out at sunlit water before nudging Momo gently on the side. "Do you want to go swimming with me?" He asked. "Or would you like to walk along the shore and see if we can find some cool shells?"
