- It was rather humorous that Lucian seemed to be on good behavior and not so cross. Or, that was how Mihr saw her charge this morning. She had been watching him for too long to believe that this mood would last, but she could always hope that it would. He must have sensed something she had not. The presence and sound of footsteps had not alluded her notice, but she had not known who they belonged to. This person was new. It did not matter who the vampire found interesting, or pleasurable for company, but Mihr would not let her guard down. The moment she did, she would be at a disadvantage. There was already enough of a disadvantage between herself and Lucian. He remembered the years he had lived, and his experiences. Mihr remembered next to nothing about own experiences. She only knew the earthly kingdom and the people she had normally interacted with. She knew Lucian had relations here, and that was who he was meeting, given his words. The new presence belonged to his niece Ayana. Mihr backed from her charge, allowing him the space he would need, or at least, desire when meeting with his niece. It must have been long since he had last seen her, but that did not mean she could trust Lucian to be so distracted by his niece that he would not try to escape Mihr’s sight.
The angel assessed the room they were currently in, trying to be polite enough to distract herself form the conversation the two were having, but it was difficult. Why couldn’t Lucian act this way always? He would be so pacified with the presence of this female that he would not need to indulge the disgusting habits he had. He would not need to bathe in blood, or hear screams from the mouths of those he drank from. He would not need to continue to inflict pain. He could find another way. She sighed gently, fidgeting gently with the material of her clothing. It felt strange against her skin, even after she had become accustomed to wearing earthly garments, some materials still rubbed against her delicate skin awkwardly. At least her boots were supple and offered her no problems. She would be able to move quickly had she the need. Watching, waiting, she wondered why she cared so much about this man to be with him always, when she could simply have looked on, or watched his movements from afar. It was silly that she be ever present, so why was she? She couldn’t understand why, she just knew that she must always be with this man. A second that she didn’t watch was a second he could go indulge his habits. She would not let that happen.
