T h e EXPOSITION - I've taken my one action

[Malo
Malo drifted off the side of the topdeck, hovering just over the shore. It looked wet and bitter and this whole place made his skin crawl. He wasn't afraid of anything, he lied, but this place was unnerving. It wasn't just the prospect of the gooey water they had to wade into, it was the trees, the dismal greyness of this whole place.

Removing his hat and cloak and hanging both on a tree, he slowly stepped into the water. It didn't hurt, like water sometimes could, and the purple fire in his chest glowed brightly, illuminating some of the tears around him. He held his breath and dipped his head, coming back up. To him, the water was warm like fire and soothingly ran its fingers over his body, relaxing him.

That was when the sort of sorrow hit him and he ran his fingers back and forth through the gluey water. He frowned, the candle in his chest slowly dimming with his mood. He sighed, closing his eyes, trying to remember where the sorrow came from, but it escaped his grip many times.

[Andreas]

As the boat pulled to a stop, Andreas felt Alice's leg rip away from him as the Growlithe had to babysit the pretty bug. The young Mincinno moved slowly off the boat now, sad that he couldn't hold anything....so he held himself, in almost a straightjacket mannerism. He whimpered and his eyes filled with tears as the garden wasn't at all what he expected. It wasn't flowery or pretty or fragrant. It was dismal and sad. He slowly walked off the ferry. His skittish feet slid and he gave a small gasp, rolling forwards and slamming off the gangplank, rolling into the tears. He laid face-first in it, paddling up and spitting out a mouthful of the stuff, trying to scramble back out but only paddling himself further and further into deeper water, unable to swim.

[Piper]
This was where his adventure ended. He did not know that they were to go inside the pool of tears. He thought they may drink from it or look at it, but when he saw them entering he sort of recoiled. He didn't like taking baths at all...and the sorrowful aura of this place was already making him sad. Plus Jolly was bucking around in his arms, bleating loudly though no echo ever returned. It was too negative here. He'd rather go back to traveling, his simple mind didn't need the ultimate knowledge or whatever bathing entailed. "I'll stay here, if its all the same to the rest of you. Good luck with your bath or whatever."
He returned to his seat and pet his goat, speaking soothingly to it.

(Piper's story arch ends here for this adventure. )

Logan's silvery, displeased eyes were exposed above his aviators for a moment, the purple bruising visible at the slightest before he pushed them back up onto the bridge of his nose. "I avoid them like the plague," he replied to the stranger who was having an equal difficulty with his own beast. "Living creatures and I do not get along," he elaborated, his face blanching. It was hard to imagine anyone that pale getting even more pale, and somehow he managed it.

Lexiel and Logan wouldn't have to worry for much longer, however. Kian appeared, smiling broadly. "I'll lead them!"
he offered, reaching for the reins. Logan gave them up happily; his pride was nowhere near strong enough to want to die just to prove a point. Whatever. He glanced over at Lexiel to see if he'd accept as well. "Logan," he said, pointing to himself, in introduction. "Everyone calls me Rabbit, though."

With Kian's assistance, it was far easier to get to the ferry than it would have been otherwise, and far easier to dismount. The other teen was extremely acrobatic. Kian excused himself onto the ferry without further ado, leaving Logan to sort the rest of it out himself. As he went to board the ferry himself, the arcanine teen only heard half the ferryman's speech. Had he heard it all, he probably would have been choking back grief that mirrored the man's neatly. As it was, he was too tired to have given it much notice, and only tuned in for the question.

Just long enough to answer: "Jace... I don't think I could... I don't think I could kill him. Even now. Even if I was strong enough," Logan mumbled, before pushing past the ferryman. The man let him go, because the expression on his face was so familiar that the ferryman actually reached one hand out to clasp Logan's shoulder firmly and affecionately as the arcanine retreated into the shadows of the cabin.

{INTRO}

It was a nervous smile under the hood, but it glinted enough to be seen as Lexiel finally managed to sit up on the saddle. "All living creatures or only the kind that you ride?" He said in a joking manner. He was about to continue when another approached, offering to take them. Lexiel flinched and sighed, but handed the reigns over regardless. "Fine..." He paused.

"Oh, Lexiel. That's me. Rabbit then?" It was an odd name and he had to think it over, but he managed to keep some sort of small talk going with him as they continued.

It was at the ferry that he began growing anxious and at first chance managed to trip off of his horse, but so happy to once again be on a solid sort of mass. Doing his best to whistle, and for that matter ignore the large amount of mud he'd seem to have gotten with his fall, he continued along after the others.

Through his hoodie he could hear the lament of the ferryman, tilting his head from side to side. It was sad, yes, he'd heard tales like it before. Somewhere though it seemed sadder, different than the others. "Huh." He let the sound escape as he moved forward, hearing the question and stopping to stare through the darkness of his hood, his bright eyes staring into the others'.

Saving? Usually you saved what you loved, and love was just a word to him.

Sure he had the capability to love, had in the past when it came to family. In present times the best thing to love he could find was when he was laying on his bed, allowing sweet relief to run through his veins while he stared blankly at his ceiling. Lexiel sighed, scratching his head. Friends, sure, random acquaintances, fine - he surely LIKED enough people. Could he say himself? He stared uncertain at the Ferryman.

"The guy who raised me I guess." He was still uncertain about the situation, but shrugged and walked onto the boat. It was the truth, but was it good enough?

[ Zale - I have taken my one turn ]

The assassin did not like being told to enter the water, however, the teen noticed movement, eyes flicking to view a familiar figure. His heart shuddered, chest tightening as he spotted Malo, however in seconds he wrenched his eyes from the ghost and murdered the emotion inside his chest. 'Stop. Forget.' Yes. Forget. He needed to forget, erase those memories before they tried to resurface, bringing him under and drowning him. He needed to forget everything. He needed to be reborn.

'Make it stop.'

He wanted to forget. He wanted to drown them. He wanted to kill anything that reminded him of those days. Days with Briar, days with Malo, days where he played with children his own age that ended in a water balloon fight. He wanted to forget. He needed to. He couldn't take it anymore, he couldn't handle it. He needed to set it on fire and bury it's ashes...

The water, thick and hot, spiraled around his slim waist as he slipped into the water, allowing his clothes to soak the tears and begin to spiral from his body. His hands dipped into the water, toying and testing, before the feeling began. Sadness. A feeling that stung and bit into his core as it had for so many days of his life. It was strange, a feeling that threatened and warned. A feeling that held no tie to any event or memory. Simply itself, sadness, and he was trapped within.

[ Isaac - I have taken my one turn ]

Isaac was more eager to travel into the waters than the others. He loved water, for it not only cured his skin when it dried from the cruel sun or harsh winters, but it also gave him a sense of home. He could slip within water easily and feel as if he was floating. It was a world all his own, quiet and gentle and kind to someone such as him. A world he loved. A world all his own.

Yet, as he spotted Zale immerse himself into the water and freeze his stomach flipped. Something was very wrong, he could feel it, but he had not chosen to listen to the adults who had warned. He had chosen to steal, failed, and was left with no advice. So, as he slipped into the waters he was coming closer and closer to the moment where he'd be stuck, his pale fingers dancing across the liquid, warm to the touch, and twitching as suddenly his hands were met with a shiver. He was frozen within the water, tail flicking and then remaining still at his side as, much like the others would feel, he began to feel that strange sadness.

Something was wrong.

[ Vincent - I have taken my one turn ]

The fire-type resisted at first. He did not want to enter the waters, he was almost tempted to flop down and fold his legs. He was tempted to reject and stay put, however, that nagging voice lurched him forward. 'You'll regret it if you don't. Your brother would, and he is a fire-type, too. So you might as well. What would your fans think, anyway?' He must move, go into the element he hated so much despite what his gut and heart was telling him. He was afraid, yes, for he both hated the unknown and hated water. However, bravely, he sucked in air and approached, flinching as water greeted his toes once he removed his shoes.

Terror flicked into his heart as he slid into the water, and then, suddenly, it was gone. Peace over came him, he wished for nothing. He desired nothing. Not even the one thing he always wanted and longed for. No, he was content, safe, and happy in this pool of wonders.

Until the sadness creeped.

It reminded him all too much of his loneliness, his ears flicking back as emerald eyes, heavily lashed, narrowed, casting shadows against his cheeks. What was this feeling? Why was he hurting? His hands cupped the water, emerald eyes focused and yet dim as they watched the water. What was this liquid? What had it done?

What would it do?

[[Atticus - I Have Taken My One Action]]

"Yes, I'll keep you safe."

Atticus stroked the fluffy tail that had been offered to him, much like a furry belt. He didn't think much on it being pride - but yes, he did posses quite a bit of pride. He took great care in his physical appearance and his work. His image had been ruined by Malo, but he was doing his best to both repair it and to hide the darkness that seemed to also dwell within him.

He also ignored the bit about the horses. He really liked them. Maybe he could sway Firefly one day, but he half doubted it. Any further thoughts were interrupted as the ferry slowed and Faust spoke. The insect paid little mind to Ex's behavior, which was something he quickly came to expect out of the faction head. It was clear what must be done, though he couldn't say he liked the idea. He was fond of both water and baths, cleanliness was something he took seriously, but he knew not what was in this "water." He did not want to show hesitancy or weakness, though, and followed Faust's example with neither enthusiasm or hesitancy.

"Care to join me?" He removed his shoes and rolled up his pant legs as he spoke to the flareon. He didn't exactly wait for a response. This was something he would do with or without his canine friend. He slipped into the pool and had to steady his nerves, as he nearly stumbled back out due to the bizarre texture. The feeling that slowly overtook him was one he had hoped to never feel again - a melancholy that seemed to devour his entire being. He could somewhat place it to the dim, dank days in the dungeon, after his removal from Rhett... Yet it also seemed to stretch back further than that, something he could not quite touch.

[[Tobias - I Have Taken My One Turn]]

The ferryman was interesting, but not interesting enough to completely hold Tobias's attention. He was a curious lad and he hadn't seen much outside of Clubs. This, to him, was an adventure and he wasn't going to completely waste it.

He quickly hurried to the railing, leaning over it slightly as the ferry slowed. He snerk'd at Ex's display and though the ferryman's warning was in the back of his mind, he disregarded it. If there was one thing the water type loved as much as fire, it was his own element. With little hesitation, the frog-boy vaulted over the railing and into the tears, expecting to be met with actual water. what he got was a bit of a shock, but his arms and legs quickly took hold and he swam to the surface with all the grace of his own typing, inhaling after emerging. He was usually a peppy fellow, but the pep seemed sucked out of him as the effect of the tears took hold.

Oh.

That was what the ferryman was talking about.

His attention was diverted by the struggling Andreas. He fought off the sullen feeling with a grin as he swam towards the younger boy with a leisurely breaststroke, his head above the tears. He turned the other face up and offered his own body as a raft to the kid.

"Hop on, 'kay? I'll take y'back."

The Development #1

[Malo]
Malo was almost sure the sorrow had been caused by Preston...something about him...or...something. Then the voice snapped him out of his thoughts and he looked up, the frown still on his face.

He closed his eyes. It took him a long moment to think if he cared more for people or events. He finally decided that it was the people he cared more for...the red queen, tobias, preston, zale. He'd be nothing without them and events wouldn't nearly be as fun. He took another deep breath and went under again, but did not resurface this time

[Firefly- Exposition and Development]

Firefly did not trust many, but he did trust Atticus. The boy had protected him when his father couldn't. Giving a happy wiggle at the pets on his tail, he followed after the whirlipede off the boat. Folding his arms, he overlooked the disgusting state of the pool, not enchanted or excited by it, but thinking it may have looked okay if there were some leaves on the trees, or some green grasses. As his close friend walked into the water, Firefly agreed, but removed some of his clothes before doing so, stripping down to his undershirt and panties, not wanting the fur on his outfit to sag and mat. He followed Atticus into the water, shaking at the touch of the tears. "Ew..." he mumbled, pulling his hand out. But still he followed him, his own mood extinguishing. All the floods of memories of being bullied hit his mind at once, but he couldn't decipher the noise, shaking his head.

He heard the question and thought for a moment, looking to Atticus. It was Atticus that had saved him that day..and thoughts of his first gun and the first time his dad took him target shooting and the first sale he ever made on his own tried to make a smile tug at his face. Mentally, he knew events were better and he grabbed at Atticus's hand, going under the tears only when he did. His hair was going to look awful after this.

[Andreas]

Paddling crazily, the little minccino was gulping in deep breaths of tears like a clumsy ox, looking thankful as someone finally paid attention to him. He grabbed the other's beck, holding tightly, his own tears dripping off his face as he was towed back into shallower water.

Finally in a place he could stand, he got off the Politoed's back but didn't leave the tears, just crying as he stood there, almost wetting himself. His ears wiggled at the question and it took him a while to think of an answer. He supposed he liked people better. He'd still be out in the water, drowning, if Toby hadn't just saved him, after all.

[[Atticus - The Development]]

Firefly seemed about as excited to enter the pool as Atticus was, namely not at all. The other, however, stripped to his underwear and Atticus refused to do so. It didn't seem right to be in his skivvies around all these strangers. He'd deal with wet clothes later.

For now, the insect moved further out into the "water," overwhelmed by the sense of sorrow that could not be pinpointed. The question was simple enough - did he prefer events or people. Some might not have trouble with it and answer right away, but the insect had no answer. Sure, he liked some people, but he disliked them in general. He liked Firefly and Ivan. Rhett. He even liked Gauvain to some extent, though he did not know the swanna well. He faltered, uncertain of how to answer. He... He had to answer events, even as Firefly grabbed his hand and held tight. The others would understand, right?

He dunked himself under the tears and fell into the dream.

[[Tobias - The Development]]

"You be careful, 'kay kid?" The child seemed alright and he wondered if this was even the place for such a tiny, mouse of a thing. He didn't dwell on it for long, though, and curled his legs underneath him as he waded in the shallows, nearly sitting on the bottom. He wasn't sure he should leave the sobbing thing.

The question was a no brainer. Toby loved people and he loved being around people, he practically thrived on attention and camaraderie. With his answer, he waded further out, only just far enough to dunk himself and he was quickly overwhelmed by the dream.

[The Development #2]

[Malo
Darkness. He was in total darkness, deaf, blind mute. He feared he was dead for a time, then the smell came to him and he felt at peace. It was not an unpleasant smell but he couldn't place it. Then the sound of crying came to him...blended with other odd noises. Where was he? He groped in the darkness, finally feeling something: thousands of textures at once, every temperature and every kind, all finally melding into an open plain.

There was a man with one horn, whom the ghost slowly rose to meet. He seemed to be uttering to himself. Malo slowly drifted forwards, trying to speak, but words cannot interrupt a memory so they fell away into a breathy silence.
He heard the words and confusion lit his pale face.

Finally, as the man turned, Malo's eyes lit with recognition and he was about to speak when the world began to crumble around him, giant pieces falling off and into nothingness, leaving him floating again. Its not a weird sensation for a ghost to float, but even this was making Malo uncomfortable. As he saw the figure of light, again he tried to open his mouth and call out, but once more nothing. All he could do was stare and wait.

[Andreas]

Andreas did not like the water. What if he drowned?! What if he didn't wake up. The others around him, their bodies were starting to float to the surface and bob, others staying down below.

But...he agreed to the task at hand and very cautiously and nervously put his face into the tears. He was gone in an instant, falling into that same darkness as the rest of them. He was drifting for a long time, certain he was going to be here for all eternity. Then, the feelings began to come back. He wrinkled his nose at the strong smell of the flowers, wiggled his ears which felt waterlogged at the sound and gave a cry of fear at all the sudden sensations, waking in the field.

He was so little, though. He could barely see over the long stalks of the grasses, spying a figure in the distance. His back was to the one right before him and, like a movie playing, he ran the wrong direction, ears not working great in this place.

But no matter how far he ran, he couldn't meet the person in the distance, which was just a smudge on the horizon. And so, he missed what was said and crashed back into darkness as the ground became cliffs and the sky became ice. He screamed when it happened, but nobody heard.

[Firefly]
Firefly dunked under the water, grabbing his nose, as he fell into blackness. He felt Atticus's hand fall away from him and bubbles exploded from his mouth as he called out, trying to get it back, but he was already in a mix of color and noise, all distracting him. The ferris wheel was huge, but it still felt like bubbles were spewing from his mouth. He was deafened by this noise and looked around in a panic, his clothes still not on his body.

As he finally stopped, glancing around, he felt some immaculate force pull him to his feet. He heard the two men talking, his eyes still swimming with light. He continued to look around, suddenly feeling very faint, and glanced to his hands, where his ears picked up that faint beep.

Time to run. It wasn't really his choice, being a creature of fight over flight, but he couldn't help but to run. He knew it was coming....what was IT? It....was....something bad. His brain, still swimming with all the colors and sounds and smells, wouldn't let him focus. He ran, through the tents, through the suddenly empty streets, trying to find those gates. He heard an elephant's trumpet from far off and turned to a side street, running for the gates but instead coming to the massive tent.

Can't stop here, his brain shouted as he ducked through the entrance, into darkness, as the mirrors revealed themselves. Comical images that may have recieved a cheap laugh in the living world shone huge, distorted and terrifying faces of himself. Fat, thin, immeasurably long arms, melting, they were all there, surrounding him. And then, words overcame his ears and he was pulled into darkness, begging until he couldn't even hear his own voice anymore.

And then, a figure, far away. Then another voice. "warn....me? about what...?" But he wasn't sure if he had thought or spoken those words.

[[ The Exposition ]]

Logan caught a flash of a smile under Lexiel's hood. Inside, something twisted: he would smile in reply, if he could. His tail flicked a little and his ears pressed down against his head. "All living creatures. This is the only one I've ridden in... quite a long time," Logan replied, sounding either defeated or defensive, or maybe a bit of both. The corner of his mouth lifted, as if he was going to smile at something funny that only he could hear. It looked more like he was exposing his teeth than smiling.

"Lexiel, I'll meet up with you in a short while," Logan nodded his head at the hooded teen, tail flicking behind him. He made his way to Alice and struck up a conversation, though the man seemed preoccupied with Ecstasy. Logan watched the Faction Head with apprehension and a little bit of mistrust while Alice spoke. He said a few things, but one in particular made Logan pause: "Alice said she was... sorry? Sorry for what?" Logan asked.

Alice just huffed, grabbing hold of Ex's shirt and hauling him back into the ferry. He excused himself to make sure the faction head was still in the ferry, muttering something about cuffing him to the railing if he wasn't afraid he'd jump anyway.

Logan scanned the interior of the ferry's cabin for Lexiel, taking a seat and swiping one of the blankets for warmth he found under the seat, wrapping it around himself. Logan's uneven white hair and his long ears stuck up from inside the cocoon as he tucked his feet up.

{ The Exposition }

Lexiel listened to Logan, watching him with interest. His tone was different and his face seemed to contort. Interesting. "Right right, sure." He watched as he wandered off. There is something interesting behind you for certain, Logan. Lexiel was intrigued, but went to his own devices and taking to listening to the Ferryman as he continued talking to those nearby.

Listening to him he raised an eyebrow to the talk of Faust's brother, but was more interested in the talk of the Pool of Tears. "Miserable, hm?" Lexiel said, leaning over a railing. He was going to inquire further but he seemed on yet another subject all together. "You took who out here?" His question would not be answered and he moved back into the cabin, thinking over the idea of the pool. "Hm."

His thoughts were swirling when he noticed Logan come back near him. "Cold?" He said, pulling his hood over his head tighter. "Ugh, I don't really care for boats." He leaned back, his head falling back and staring up. His eyes rolled over to look at Logan. "So..."

Logan's tail swished underneath the blanket, poking out the bottom as if getting air. He sat near Lexiel and re-wrapped himself in his blanket. "It's ******** freezing," he ammended Lexiel's suggestion. He was kind of a baby about the cold, not to mention his being a fire type didn't really make him thrilled about their current location. Not that his colouration showed it: as a shiny, his yellows and whites contrasted with Alice's dead giveaway reds and creams.

"I hate boats but I hate swimming even more," he added.

He paused, when Lexiel trailed off, waiting for the teen to say something. Was a pause not for that purpose? "Get anything interesting out of the ferryman?" Logan asked, wincing internally. The Ferryman had asked him... who he'd save, if he could save only one person. Why hadn't he saved his father? He loved his father, even if they had a strained relationship.

But when his own heart asked, it was Jace he would have saved. And he hated himself even more for it. Logan scowled under the blanket and pushed his face up so that his choppy white hair rested outside the blanket, his chin against its folds, hands hidden somewhere deep inside it. "I'd set the blanket on fire if I wasn't afraid of burning down the boat," he added.

"... are you cold?" Logan asked, suddenly.
PostPosted: Wed Feb 27, 2013 10:50 pm

"Now I wouldn't say all that but given your type I suppose I wouldn't feel the same about it." Lexiel wiggled where he sat, watching the others nearby. He sighed and shrugged. "I just don't like the feeling of moving and not being in control of it." He continued, feeling a jerk from the ferry and leaning forward again. "Ugh, like that. Uuuuugh." He was beginning to feel sick.

"Give me swimming any day, just not this."

"Oh, um." Lexiel blinked. "I think don't touch the water was the gist of what he said. What did he have to say?" He said with a nod towards Alice. Things were getting a little eerie and Lexiel felt a shudder move through his spine. "Naw, I don't tend to get cold with this on." The teen said, pulling on his hoodie sleeve. "Barely notice it usually. Maybe that's a gift in itself."

Logan nodded, briefly; of course the other types wouldn't be quite as miserable in winter, heading onto a ferry and sailing. That made sense, at least. He could be grateful he didn't get seasick, he supposed, watching Lexiel lean forward with some rather unpleasant sounds. "If you have to hurl, do it off the side of the ferry," Logan suggested helpfully, cross at nothing in particular. Just generally cross, with no direction and no outlet.

"Alice said the same thing. That, and ... that when he talked to Alice last, the real Alice, she said she was sorry..." Logan began, "And then something about... ugh, he was really vague. Something about two people, some love, something that got left behind or brought back or gardens-- I don't even know, he was too busy keeping Ex from bailing off the side of the ferry to really say much, or explain it."

Logan took that opportunity to shoot the faction head an accusatory glance. Ex, however, was nowhere to be found. He just hoped the captain had the good sense to lock himself in and, more importantly, Ex out for the duration of their voyage. "... Ex is missing. If the ferry starts swerving wildly, you know who's to blame."

At least Ex had a short attention span.

[[ The Exposition ]]

The second that the carriage stopped, Gauvain extracted himself from the infants and from Ex and, little white wings flexing the second he stumbled out the door, he booked it to the ferry. He was certainly tired of traveling by land, crammed into the carriage. He did, however, love traveling in the water.

On his way onto the ferry, he was interrupted in his gleeful skipping by the Ferryman, who asked if he could save one person... who would he save? "Only one? I can't save both my parents?" Gauvain asked, his little face crestfallen. The swanna infant looked like he was about to start crying. He swiped at the tears. A knight wouldn't cry so easily; he knew that now, that he couldn't keep throwing temper tantrums. Still, turning his face so that his long white-blue hair hid his features, he let a few tears fall when he was sure no one could see them. How could he save only one of his fathers? He might openly love Thuri while hiding his love for Tommy, but both of them were equally important to him.

"I suppose I would save the Queen," Gauvain said, with a little bow of fealty. Wasn't that a Knight's answer, after all? It wasn't out of love, but a sense of duty. His white wings fanned out. The ferryman patted Gauvain's shoulder, leaning down to do so. Poor kid. Gauvain looked up at him, as if to check that it was alright to board. The ferryman gestured to let him onto the ferry.

He didn't even go towards the cabin, but rather stood at the edge of the railing, peering out over the water as they set sail.

He stopped to talk with the Ferryman for a while, but didn't really understand anything the older man was saying. Especially not the bit about being sad. The second they stopped the ferry and let him off, Gauvain booked it right into the mystery substance. He wasn't even particularly afraid, despite the weirdness of everything going on around him.

He just spread his wings and paddled around, before finally settling in one of the shallower bits. Ex had the right idea, swimming around! Probably the first time he wasn't terribly embarassed by the man's lack of class.

[[ The Exposition ]]

Kian was already booking it onto the ferry the second that Logan and Lexiel's mounts were led to the docks. He was fairly happy, in general, and he couldn't resist a cartwheel and a flip. Okay, so maybe happy wasn't so much the right term as flamboyant. He was definitely that. He sucked in a breath as he was about to talk to the ferryman, as if bracing himself for something important. Save one person? "Can't save the one person I would have saved, so... just me. I'd save me. And if I'm already saved, then I'll save me twice," Kian told him, clapping the ferryman on the shoulder and heading in.

So many of them, it seemed, had something that hurt them or something they'd lost. Being asked who they could save was the payment that the ferryman required: those little truths meant a lot more to the man than anyone might imagine. Kian locked up his memories, all of them. And thankfully, he hadn't yet been locked up. Kian rifled through the boat for whatever treasures could be moved easily. Or with relative ease. Or at least hidden.

Kian found something metal, and quite lovely, but stashed it in a cloth before he could get caught, saving it to admire his treasure later. He didn't really care either way about standing in the water, so it was no big deal to get into the pool.

Except once he was in it, the sense of sadness faintly on the tip of his tongue.. hurt. It hurt him, in a way that he couldn't explain, and the smile slipped away from his face.
