Natural Ability: Shadowstep - teleport within 50 feet. Must have line of sight. Can't override fear barriers, ect. Cooldown of 3 minutes.


Personality: Sharp and straight forward, sometimes cruel in his bluntness, Austin is the straight edge of the family. He likes to tease, is secretly obsessed with his son, and is rather accepting of the various species, in general, as long as they don’t give him trouble. He can get obsessed with things--to the point where he forgets about other things (he’s very one track minded.) He hates his father, Vegas, for several reasons, and tends to hold grudges--and play dirty to get revenge.


Job/Business: He was, until recently, a traditional grim reaper--going into the human world and reaping FEAR from the humans that were dying. Recently, though, he’s been staying in Halloween, and picking up lessons as a motorcycle mechanic at a trade school. (He honestly did it just so he didn’t look like a moron in front of Roch when Roch brought in the parts for his bike.) He enjoyed it, so he’s going to start up a small bike building/repair shop in his beat down old warehouse of a home.

Personal History: He had an older brother who died right before he started school, and his mother left them and his relationship with Vegas went south. He went off to school (Amity is how I’ve played it in Roch's canon--to try and find out what happened to Tex, but srsly, at 36 I don’t see him going “I went to Amity” unless drilled--so it’ll be ignored/not mentioned at all in this setting. He won’t be played in fighting situations, so stats don’t matter/has discussed this with Liz in Q&A.))

Austin got married/shacked up right out of high school (at 19/20) with a gluttony demon. They had a child (Roch) and Austin started working all the time to refill the Scythe family coffers--and his wife ran out of alcohol, and sick and tired of living in the ghetto with only a little boil to keep her company, she walked out and never looked back. Austin was stuck with raising a little boil and trying to work at the same time--leaving Roch with a less than stellar upbringing, and Austin looking up and realizing that sixteen years went by in a blink of an eye.

It was almost too late to get his son back. He moved to Halloween Town, bought the broke down two story building in the bad part of town--simply because Roch had done a mural (read graffiti) of Jack the Pumpkin King on the side of it. And has been working to get back in Roch’s good graces ever since. He even helped Roch through his time with Insanity and helped him put his bike together. (Read “stupid parent.”) He’s grown attached to Terra, as well--so even though Vegas is the technical father, Austin will be the one they turn to--especially Terra.

FEAR Ability: Swift Strikes: his weapon is a sax, one with a bladed horn, he plays a short harmony which draws the FEAR from the victim.
