Beloved Aggressor

PostPosted: Sun Feb 03, 2013 8:13 am

Well hello there! I hope you find things easy to navigate, but just in case I've made things a tad confusing (something I've been told I have quite a talent for at times) here's a basic run-down! Each character's name will lead you to their original character application, and since that has all of their basic information and stats, I'll just keep a basic summary here along with any pictures and RP links. You can also find my Dragon Rider Journal Here. Once it's made, that is. Of current, I have no riders, so that link isn't going to lead you anywhere.

If you'd like rp with any of my characters there are plenty of ways to get in touch with me. Quote me in the main thread, private message me, or even hit me up on AIM at username: coyotesparrow. Not on there all that often though. Anywho, on to the characters!

WherHandlers

Brakesh Of Bronze Brask, and Green Goawai
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

Brakesh
Rank: Wher Handler/ Guard
Personality: Brutish, Morally bound and on her toes. Brakesh is closed off to most people, but she'll right any wrong she can--regardless of whether she likes you or not. The only time you'll really see her smile is when she's talking about whers, or watching her bumbling idiot and she thinks no one is looking. She won't hit you unless you hit her first, but when you open that gate, be ready for a flood. This girl is small, but feisty. Hit her once, and be prepared to have the equivalent of an angry badger on your hands. Not to mention the big hulking bronze wher who will not be pleased you touched his lady, and the devoted green flit who will be more likely to drop rocks on your head at a safe height when you aren't looking.
RP Log:
How to Serve Whers--Taavi and Brown Wher Gustav-In progress
Thoughts:

Brask--Brakesh loves her goofy wher immensely. He is the first creature on pern she's ever had a real connection with, and during her childhood he played a big hand in teaching her that life isn't all bad. He'll never know how big of a debt she owes him, and Brakesh will do anything to keep her beloved wher safe. That includes grabbing him mercilessly by the nostril, and some well placed jabs to the ribs when he starts to get rowdy. After ten turns together, the two work beautifully as a team, and she trusts her wher more than any person she has ever met.
Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥---Brakesh loves Brask deeply, but always has an eye on him. He is large enough to cause trouble, and while she knows him well enough to know that won't happen, no one else does. She keeps him on a short leash when it comes to aggression, but its more for others comfort and his protection than a lack of trust for her wher. It must be noted that if Brask ever displays human aggression he will be culled.

Goawai--When she first got the little green hatchling, her first thought was panic. It wasn't that she didn't want the little creature, but that she was afraid of Brask's reaction. She was more than pleased when the two got along like brother and sister. She loves Goawai, and is pleasantly surprised by her cleverness. She finds it a relief that the flit is clever, and doesn't worry about her as much as she does Brask. Brakesh is still learning how to handle this little creature, and will devour any source of information she can find on firelizards in hopes that she'll be able to care for her as well as she cares for her wher.
Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥---She loves her little flit and is constantly surprised by her. Brakesh is more protective of her flit than she is of her wher, for obvious reasons, and it is advisable that you do no grabbing at the flit. Goawai is nervous as it is, and Brakesh will lay down the boundaries if you don't get the message, rather firmly at that.

Taavi--Brakesh finds Taavi a nice person. He treats his wher well, and in her mind that speaks volumes. His chatty nature put her off at first, but she's slowly become more at ease around him. He likes Brask, and Brask loves both Taavi and Gus, Which is more than enough in her book.
Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥---Brakesh enjoys Taavi's company, and finds him to be a good person. He seems like he has his skeletons in the closet, but who at Warden's doesn't? Whatever skeletons he may or may not have, Brakesh doesn't seem to care. She finds him to be a good friend, and would clock anyone who threatened him if it came down to it--not that something like that is ever going to happen with Gus around. She knows he doesn't know about much about whers, and while she won't volenteer information for fear of sounding like a know it all, she hopes he knows that she'd be ready to answer any questions she could, if he ever asked.

Brown Wher Gustav--Now THAT'S a wher. Brakesh is fascinated by Gus, and often wonders about his breeding, and exactly what blood lines and traits went into creating such a fine wher. She is careful to respect his space and his handler, and is content to admire the beast's stature and conformation from afar. She hopes that someday Brask might pick up on Gus's reserved demeanor, but knows that isn't terribly likely.
Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥---She sees him as a beautiful wher in every aspect of the word, and knows better than to worry about Taavi getting into trouble with him around. You'd have to be a special kind of crazy to even think about angering that wher.

Bronze Brask
User Image

Personality: Brask is a stupid creature, but a happy creature! He's clumsy, and careless, never really thinking about what impact his actions will have. He's very loyal to those he decides he cares about, to the point that they can do no wrong in his eyes. He has a prejuduce toward dragons and their riders, something that Brakesh does her best to keep in check. He has a very hard time trusting Dragon riders, and one would have to try harder than an unbonded to win his friendship. They seem to be the only thing he's wary of.
Thoughts:

Brakesh--Brask loves his Lady, and puts her on a pedestal. There are times, less often now than in the past, when she just seems so sad, and Brask wants nothing more than to cheer her up! Her happiness has always been his biggest and best goal, and he does his best to make her smile in any way he can. He is protective of her, but there are times when his Lady is restless, and must be allowed to handle things on her own. While he might seem less protective than most, that couldn't be further from true. He merely trusts her, and after ten turns together, knows better than to underestimate her capabilities. He won't step in if she gets herself into a fight, but he will stop an attacker in their tracks should his Lady lose the fight. He won't attack, nor will he even try to chase them off, but he won't let you kick her while she is down either. This most behavior most often manifests as him standing between his Lady and the offending party, with warning growls and clearly disapproving postures as if to say, "You've made your point, now leave." Violence will follow should he be pushed and his warnings ignored, but on some level he understands that violence is something that displeases Brakesh like nothing else, and will tolerate quite a bit of abuse before he snaps. Riders and dragons will be treated with a shorter fuse and louder warnings, but he will try his best not to hurt them for fear of upsetting his handler.
Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥♥---Brakesh loves his lady like no other, and is utterly devoted to her.

Goawai--What a delight! Brask never was sure what to make of firelizards until this little girl came along! He sees Goawai as a little sister of sorts, and would let her get away with murder if he could. There are times when his age shows, and dense Brask will try to teach things to the young flit as if she were a wher hatching. More times than not however, he's the one that falls into the clever little creature's schemes, and learns a lesson. The two left unsupervised are a dangerous combination of brains and brawn that could cause all sorts of relatively harmless havoc.
Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥---He loves Goawai dearly, and while he may think himself the teacher at times, he more often ends up being her patsy and is happy to do so.

Taavi--
MEAAAAATMEAAAAAAATS Taavi, in Brask's mind, makes the very best meatrolls, and he'll snake one away from Taavi if he ever sees the chance. He very much likes Taavi, and like most things, he doesn't over think or question that. He also knows that Brakesh likes the Taaviman and because of that, Brask will often seek out Taavi and Gus in an effort to get his Lady to be more sociable.
Rating: ♥♥♥♥---While he doesn't quite love Taaviman as much as he loves his Lady and Goawai, he certainly loves him! Taaviman is fun and nice, and in Brask's book, that's all that counts!

Brown wher Gustav--
BROWNGUS <3 Brask seemed to decide the second he met Gus that he would be one of his best friends, and didn't give Gustav much say in the manner. He has much respect for Gustav's strength and reserve, qualities that aren't a far cry from Brask's own sire. Perhaps that is why he feels so comfortable around the big brown wher. One day, he would love to have a real playtime with Gus, and maybe even get him to lighten up a tad, but even if that never happens, he is utterly devoted to his friend BrownGus.
Rating: ♥♥♥♥---BrownGus is someone that Brask trusts, and will always be devoted to, in his own goofy way.

Green Goawai
User Image

Personality: Goawai (pronounced: go-uh way in two syllables) is a quick and clever little green with a penchant for mischief. Her antics are mostly harmless, with their main target being the large dense wher Brask. The two have a strange relationship, and the firelizard can be found in his company as often as the company of their handler. She seems to encourage Brask's goofy nature, and is hardly above using the wher to accomplish things that a tiny lizard such as herself simply can't do on her own. Unlike the wher, however, she seems to be a rather shrewd little creature, much more apprehensive than her wher counterpart. At the first sign of danger, she knows to flit to Brakesh's shoulder, more apt to seek the girl out for protection than the silly wher. Goawai nervous around new faces, often perched upon Brakesh's shoulder, watching new faces warily. Unlike Brask, who seems to observe a new person for a few moments before making a decision as to whether he likes them or not, Goawai seems to be much more critical of others and very slow to trust. She is very hard to stir to anger, preffering to get out of the way and be left alone in place of snapping or biting. As a general rule, she doesn't seem to trust prisoners. Her knowledge of them extends only as far as she can understand, but she seems to know that red jumpsuits are not to be trusted, and doesn't much care for their firelizards either. She does not, however, share the inherit dislike of Riders shared by Brask and Brakesh, and is more comfortable around them than prisoners.
Hatching: Brakesh had panicked when someone asked her to watch a small clutch of firelizard eggs. It'd only be a few moments, nothing to worry about right? But when a little green egg began to hatch, the wherhandler panicked. Brask would probably eat the little thing, oh by the first egg, Go Away! The little hatchling flit looked up at her curiously, it's purple eyes swirling with wonder. Brakesh's fears turned out to be unfounded, when her wher's large head peeked over her shoulder to look down at the tiny green, he seemed to have dubbed her Goawai, and decided she was his best and newest little buddy.
Thoughts:

Brakesh--Goawai sees Brakesh as her Mother, of course. She knows to drop her shennanigans and act proper around her handler, but loves her dearly and seeks her out as her rock whenever the flit begins to feel unsteady or scared. To her, Brakesh is Momma, Brakesh is comfort and protection, and the kind of love you have to work for. She will not leave Brakesh for any reason if she is scared or uneasy.
Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥---She loves Brakesh dearly, and works hard to make her proud.

Brask--Brask is funtime! Goawai sees Brask as her goofy big brother of sorts, and like any little sister, she loves getting him into harmless trouble. However, the little flit highly values shrewdness, and will not go to Brask for protection if given the choice between him and Brakesh. If she is comfortable around you, you'll likely see her lift off of Brakesh's shoulder to go and play with Brask.
Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥---Brask is her big bumbling brother, and Goawai loves him dearly, but there are times when she doesn't trust his judgement. After all, someone his size can afford to be stupid. Someone small like her, can't.

Unbonded Guards

Rokana and Gold Oddaye
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

Rokana
Rank:Guard
Personality: Prideful and clever, most of Rokana's nature depends on how interesting he finds someone, rather than the traditional manners of reacting in accordance with how much you like someone. He manicures his appearance to be approachable, and yet will shoot down any firm ties of friendship, finding other people more of a hindrance than a gain. He has a natural charm about him, and could easily be called handsome, but seems utterly disinterested in relationships of any sort. This has begun to change at the prodding of a certain little firelizard--and there is a story in and of itself. Straight out of the egg, she came, only to nearly be killed by her own mother in efforts to protect him. He would have never thought her to end up being so much trouble, not when the little babe was barely alive in the hands of healers with it's eye severely mauled and hardly breathing. It's like having his own mother perched on his shoulder, criticizing every move he makes. Shards can she be irritating, but there are just as many days when she makes him proud. Something tells him the little firelizard will never cease to surprise. Or irritate.
RP Log:
Title of the Rp--with whom--status
Thoughts:

Oddaye--Now here's a piece of work. Impressed on him the moment her own mother came tearing out of the bushes to protect her clutch, and what does she do? Attack her own mother and get her bold little self nearly killed. Nothing seems to get past her, half blind or not. Nothing seems to scare her, her, the little thing about the size of a house cat. But then there are those moments when she surprises, when she stares down a wher a thousand times her size, and succeeds. She's accomplished so much through nothing other than sheer, relentless determination.
Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥♥---He admires his little firelizard and her spirit, and loves her deeply. She's almost intolerably irritating at times, but he knows she means well, even if he doesn't like it.

Gold Firelizard Oddaye

User Image

Personality: Oddaye is a shrewd little creature, but brash where Rokana is all reserve. She will always be very clear about what she thinks, and will make you understand one way or another exactly how she feels. Most times the little flit seems content to amuse herself, independent by her very nature, but she seems intent on keeping her good eye on her Rokana, periodically checking on exactly what he's doing and making a thorough inspection of any one he speaks to. Oddaye is a bright little thing, friendly and genuine in her ways, with a terrible dislike of deception. Often times, when she catches wind of Rokana being less than truthful, the little firelizard will n** and fuss until she's made quite a nuisance of herself. She refuses most days to leave his side, wanting to prove to him that she's grown up big and strong. Since her first moments out of the egg, she has protected her person, and she'll be damned if her size is going to stop her now. Despite her disability she's bound and determined to show that she should not be coddled, that she is just as capable as any other creature. There is nothing else that irritates and flusters the creature as much as when she catches wind of someone doubting her ability. She makes up for her lost eye with sharp hearing, and her size with an attitude the likes of which could make a dragon jealous.
When it comes to prisoners and riders, the little flit seems to either notice no distinction, or not care. She'll investigate each with the same tenacity, sniffing whatever she can and crawling over just about whatever she can reach. She seems to treat each person differently, but always with the same bossy attitude about her. Prisoners will be more heavily 'evaluated' than most, and treated accordingly to whatever information she finds worth noting. When it comes to other firelizards the little gold has no reservations with bossing them about either, often fussing for improper posture or conduct, but in the end, she really does mean well.

Hatching: Rokana happened upon a small nest of firelizard eggs one night when he and his squad were on patrol. Never one to share his fortune, he provided a clever excuse about needing the restroom, and went on his own to investigate. He almost immediately set his sights on the gold egg of the clutch, but imagine his surprise when the mother flit came tearing out of the bush to attack him! His hand left the little gold egg just as it splintered open and out tore the little banded gold. Straight out of the egg, she lept at her mother, and tore into the eldergold's tail. The mother gold tore into her traitor hatchling before fleeing from the entire sad business. Rokana scooped up the little gold, utterly astounded, and ran directly to the healers. The wee beastie had lost her right eye, a scar from snout to horn, and a mottled socket taking its place. With time, and a long frightening and rocky time it was, the little gold recovered, even flourished. She turned out to be a bright, bossy little gold, but her hard time straight out of the egg has taken its toll. The size of her wing span lends one to believe she'd be quite a large gold, and her body is long, but lean and almost undersized. Vital resources were expended in healing the little body, and as such, she will never grow to the full size she should have. Oddaye seems to know this, and as Rokana has learned through nips and angry snarls, it's a rather sensitive subject.
Thoughts:

Rokana--Now where to begin. The little creature loves her person dearly, but boy is he a piece of work. Thinks he can do however he pleases and make sure he won't get caught, well she'll have none of that. She has it in her mind that she'll not have him acting this way any. more. No more cheating at games, no more sneaking about. The little creature is little more than fresh out of her egg, and yet she's immediately taken to fouling his foolery. When will he realize that he has everything he needs? That if he'd just drop his silly pretenses and planning, and live for shard's sake, he'd be much happier. Oddaye loves her handler dearly, but boy does he have a lot to learn.
Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥---Oddaye loves Rokana dearly, and so she frets over him constantly. She wants him to stop worrying about her, for him to see that she's here to protect him, and not the other way around--And she'll hear nothing to the contrary.
